Did you make any beauty resolutions for the year?
Did you make any beauty resolutions for the year? How is it going so far?
No New Year’s resolutions for me! My ongoing goals (from before the calendar switched to 2012) were to eat better, have a better work/life balance, and be neater. I managed not to spend NYE working on the blog, so I think it’s going quite well!
Thanks to Diane for today’s question! Got a question idea? Submit yours here.
Buy fewer lipsticks … last year I bought an average of 3 per month and I have a huge stash already!! So AT MOST I can buy ONE per month this year. Having already ordered 2 online, this means no more lipstick buying until March xD
1. To wash off my makeup before bed, every night.
2. Drink more water.
Drink more water and clean my brushes more often!
I’m going to take better care of my skin. I’m also going to try to use more natural/organic products.
I’m going to try this one, too. 🙂
my food habits are not so bad but when it comes to chocolates and arabic desserts, I’m weak 🙁 so I’ll try not to consume as much sugar.
I’ll also try to get regular facials done, I remember to do it like twice a year hha 😀
I want to buy/use more natural or organIc based makeup and skincare products. Fitness-wise, I want to get active again with my dance exercise. Happy New Year and all the best in 2012!
xoxo
Does flossing count? I have to admit, I never really did it but my dentist always said that I brush my teeth really well but only the areas between by teeth need work which my toothbrush can’t reach obviously.
So Flossing between every teeth before bed. It’s going pretty well. 🙂
And no picking on blemishes! Take care of my skin, eat healthier, go to the gym 3 times a week at least, but honestly I already started back in November/December. Jan isn’t the only month to make goals!
Yes. My resolution is to get through my of my stash. I have several lipsticks that have never seen the light of day and I want to hit the pan on some of my eyeshadows and palettes. I keep buying without actually using, so I definitely want to change that.
I had a beauty resolution for 2011. I had over 80 bottles of “pricey” or “good” perfume. For every 10 I used up/gave away I bought 1 new one as a reward. I counted that I have got down to 44 in a year. My beauty resolution for this year is only 2 new eyeshadows max every month and to try to make a dent in the many I only. Use them in rotation, not just the same ones everyday. I’m going to continue the perfume one too, I’m so used to it now that it’s easy.
I plant to go on a nobuy for the whole year, purge products in my stash I rarely use anymore, and use any money I earn from a blogsale towards new makeup 🙂 I also started a blog which hopefully will get me to use a wider variety of the products I own and to break out of my everyday makeup rut.
Must finish some products!!! I’m starting to resent my spending habits after summing up most purchases. ;( I guess sort of a ‘Project Pan#”.
buy less makeup until i at least use up more of what i already have. i’m not doing well so far, with the triple assault of daphne guiness, naturally, and iris apfel on top of naked 2 and my still wanting to look into tarina tarantino’s line @_@
take better care of my skin! in terms of care i think i’m doing fine. but i need to get more sleep 🙁
My resolution was to stop biting my nails so I can start painting them pretty colors!
I don’t make New Year’s resolutions, so nope! I think goals are doomed to fail if you only let yourself set them at x time.
My new year’s resolution is: No more resolutions! And this time I mean it.
(Yes, the quote was totally stolen from Spongebob… 😛 )
I actually did make a beauty resolution this year, for the first time, which was to try out some smaller, harder-to-find brands that I’ve been reading about. And I’ve already started the process!
Yes. I will practice, practice practice applying make-up and being more creative. What I really wish I had was a make-up buddy. LMAO!!!!!!! When ever Nordstrom has a trend-show, I”m there, but outside of getting a few tips here and there…..I’m left all alone with YouTube videos–which is fine. But a make-up buddy would be great.
Mine is to try going on a makeup no-buy! But I know I am going to fail! 😉
I resolve not to purchase a new product before finishing up something else… hopefully, that will curb my rapacious makeup hoarding.
Giving myself leeway by including my sample products as something to use up!
Humm where i can start? I need a good brush set, and when i saw photos of NARS Kabuki brush set i completely fall i love. Love a first sight XD. Makeup Forever aqua cream eyeshadows, but just some of them, also their HD loose powder and some shades of the Fluo Night. (i love Nicki Minaj makeup at Super Bass),the NAKED 2…about makeup, at the moment is just this.
For beauty in general, well i hope one of my dreams come true this year… lose some weight and do my plastic surgery…. i want reduce my breasts. I hope Doc Ray have a space on his agenda for me! XD
I don’t really have new year’s resolutions this year, but I have decided to use what I have and buy less. There are a few items missing from my collection but for example there is no point in me buying any more lipsticks and lipglosses. (as tempting as it may be)
to try and make more justified purchases. try an buy products that you dont have a dupe or similar shades of, only buy what you need, plus use the other bits of makeup that gets neglected or blog sale it!
As crazy & impossible as it sounds: NOT BUY ANY MAKE UP !
My beauty related resolutions would be trying more new looks out! I’m not super adventurous, so I tend to stick to looks that I have done before and know would work. Starting a blog has definitely helped/forced me to come up with different combinations!
Yes! Mine is no new makeup for the first quarter because I need to use up some stuff. And no new nail polish for 2012 as I have of 150 nail polishes, with many untried. I’m really trying not to be a beauty hoarder this year!
My beauty resolution is to only wear powder foundation daily. I will only use liquid foundation when there’s a special event. I find that my skin is getting healthier this way. (Though I’m considering using a tinted moisturizer.) LOL
Even though I think it’s painfully cliche to do a “Project 10 Pan”, my beauty drawer has gotten to the point where I need to do what I can to slim it down. I’m basically banned from lipglosses, lipsticks and eyeshadow purchases through the new year. I’ve been making some fantastic looks with what I have, and there’s no need to buy more. That being said, Romp e/s has been discontinued, so if anyone would like to mail me one, I won’t say no. lmao.
Haha painfully cliche but I am doing it right now!
It’s not my resolution, but My Rules:
I’m banned from buying all makeup that I have multiples of (If I run out of my one foundation, I can buy another one).
Project 10 pan or Sephora 2012F&F sale. One has to come first before I can buy again.
So far I finished Month one!!
Good for you for excersizing willpower 😛
I’m stick to my low buy as I need to save money this year, that being said when now things come on the drug store market you can bet I’ll be checking them out. lol
Also Sticking to taking my vitamins!!! I was so bad last year for that so I went out and got a 250pill bottle to start the new year with along with taking extra D during the winter month as i feel like i see the light of day up here in Canada during the work week. lol
my beauty resolution is to stop buying ‘back-ups’. i’m having a hard time trying to finish my current stash that i bought.
I also want to drink more water, get some sleep.
Not really a new year’s resolution since I just happen to decide it around the same dates but I told myself not to buy anymore eyeshadows! I have over 200 colors already and i keep dreaming of more, I’m addicted!I need to stop, I need professional help haahahaa.
My resolutions is to finally go to the MAC counter to get my skin matched to foundation!
Well it’s not really a new year’s resolution for me since I started this back in November. But I plan to continue the plan. I haven’t bought any beauty products since November 14th. My plan is to finish up items that I’m not crazy about and wouldn’t re-purchase which will hopefully lead to a smaller makeup collection filled with my favourites/holy grails. I figure it’ll take at least 6 months to a year. The only time I will buy something is if I run out of an ‘essential’ that needs replacing like mascara, eye cream, cleanser etc.
To not buy so much, and carefully scrutinize everything I do buy!!! Also, use some of the older products in my stash, before they expire.
Resolution 1 – Give myself regular manicures
Resolution 2 – Purge unflattering eyeshadows and lipsticks — they are not going to suddenly look right one day
Both of these things will help me feel more polished and less frumpy.
1) Drink more water.
2) Exercise on a regular basis.
3) Try to figure out a good skincare routine to deal with the aging process.
Reduce my hauling to once a month. This will be impossible. I’m still searching for my HG foundation which will make it just that much harder.
And to get back into blogging. But that can wait until I survive uni, I think!
And less make up related, but the general be healthier thing that a lot of people have said.
*Drink more water (I heard it’s good for your skin..but I hate drinking water :P)
*Wear sunscreen everyday! (yeah I am already failing at this one)
*Buy the MIlani blush in Mai Tai, it is ALWAYS sold out in stores near me.
*Buy less lipsticks
*learn more ways to style my hair
*Stop touching my face!!!
*Find the perfect self tanner for my skin (I am very fair I want some color without the damage!!) does any one know of a good one??
I think that’s it 😀
I really reccomend the St Moriz tanning mousse! It’s an exact dupe for the much pricier St Tropez self tanning mousse. It’s cheap, and because the mousse has an almost green tinge to it, it stops you from looking at all orange. It looks really natural, lasts over a week on your skin! I’m really fair too and it works great for me 🙂 Even my mother, who usually disapproves of anything beauty related, like the effect it had on my skin. It’s inexpensive and you can buy it online pretty cheap 🙂
You are amazing! This is exactly what I was looking for! I actually tried the St Tropez once and it was really good, but it’s so expensive, I was super happy when I read your reply and read some online reviews for St Moriz that I ordered two bottles right away. So excited! Thanks so much 😀
No, I didn’t make any official beauty resolutions, but I have a few things I’d like to do/not do. I’d like to use up as much of my makeup as I can (I like trying new things, but I don’t have room for them), learn to make my makeup as flattering as possible, and make my skin as beautiful as I can (this includes washing my face before bed). I also want to get a haircut and actually style my hair once in a while.
To not buy any makeup or nail polish unless absolutely necessary (like if I finish my mascara or something). I know it’s hardcore but the other day I was organizing and I realized I’ve many things that I don’t even pay attention to, and I’d like to get some use out of them before they go bad =)
I’m determined to have long hair (2-3 inches to my collarbone) by the time I go home to LA in April to visit so I’ve just started taking Viviscal tablets. And does diet count? I wanted to lose 50 lbs before the LA trip too and started dieting on the Jewish New Year, Rosh Hashanah in September. 30 gone so far!
Buy less makeup and use up what I already own.
Use sunscreen, hit pan in some of my most used prooducts and finish them!
To buy fewer beauty products overall!! I spent so much on makeup and skincare last year that my collection has gotten pretty ridiculous. One week into the new year and all I’m seeing on youtube are the most amazing hauls and collection videos!! This resolution is going to be soooooooooo hard!!!
I’d probably be more successful if my resolution was to join a gym and lose weight…LOL!!
