Finally, someone I’ve actually watched on YT! (But I barely recognize her in this makeup.) Mrs. Norris is a lipstick I might use as an add-on to bring the total to $30 for free shipping. But I have no plans to buy anything from CP in the near future. Nice to see that it’s in different packaging, though.

I agree about Safiya being a yt’er I actually watch and would not mind supporting! That being said, I’m not supporting an influencer just to support an influencer, and I don’t really love Colourpop or find these colors that interesting for me. Hope others enjoy!

An influencer I actually know about! I love Safiya and watch her videos! She collaborated with my friend and now I’m hooked. She does so much research and is really brilliant at production and marketing. Her explanation of why she left as a producer at Buzzfeed was really insightful about the social media and entertainment world of today.

These don’t appeal to me personally, but I feel like this collection will probably sell out. Her fans are intense!

Hey Kira, I recently stumbled on her videos on youtube and having been enjoying her sense of humour so much! I didn’t actually think this was her, she doesn’t usually wear a lot of makeup. Anyway, I heard she left Buzzfeed but I don’t know anything else about her. Can you tell me where to look, or do you have a link?

Kira Avatar

Thank you! It really excited me that she would go out of her way and be real about the things that matter in entertainment – like attribution for your actual role, control over day-to-day decision-making and long-term strategy, how profits are divided. By educating her fans about how to progress in a career based on the nitty-gritty of her experience, I think she is wonderful role model.

I have no idea who she is. I suppose I should check her out on YouTube now.

However, that didn’t stop me from ordering three. I got Fred, Bikini Bottoms (not sure it will work, but I’ve been on the search for the perfect nude and so far haven’t found one), and Berry Me in Lipsticks. I was looking for an excuse to buy the Lilac palette and this seemed like a good enough one. I generally like CP’s lipstick formula and the price point lets me throw a little caution to the wind and get colors I’m not 100% sure will work (see also: the Cruella DeVil lipstick – that orange-red looks so pretty on everyone else).

Will you be swatching and reviewing these lipsticks? I’m interested to see how they’ll look on you as we have similar undertones and depth. Safiya pulls off these colors in a way i simply can’t, having tried out a few of her top 10 fave lipsticks before
