Purposefully not showing the shades?
Weird.
This feels very much like a cash grab aimed at kpop fans.
CP usually does a reveal over 1-2 days for collabs, I just don’t normally post at this point in the process but given how popular BTS is, I thought I would!
Oof, that actually bothers me even more! I have long felt most brands are moving away from formula integrity and instead have focused on packaging. If they were doing that to highlight sustainability, I’d be down– but they aren’t.
Thanks for clarifying nonetheless.
I predict a server crash in 3,2, 1…
I hope this is good. Please don’t make ARMY mad.
ColourPop’s website is going to crash…
I’m ready to spend my money on ColourPop for the first time in a while!!!
Okay – clue me in…is this BTS, the Korean music group? Or something else? If the former, it’s just another example (as someone mentioned the other day re Haus Labs, I think) of celebs with more money than they could ever need slapping their names on a “collab” to make even more money while having little to no input….
Yes, the music group!
Not into K-Pop Mariella? Not quite your thing? I had absolutely no idea who they were either until I rread these posts. I feel that it’s just another gimmicky thing to make money….
Nope – not into K-Pop (but I love K-food!) but at least I did know why they were. Looking at those products, though, I couldn’t see any sort of connection but then what the heck do I know?
The funny thing is that most K-Pop stars do wear makeup, so doing a product tie-in isn’t such a gimmicky idea, but BTS really doesn’t go for that much color, on closer inspection. They seem to do either a bit of a smoky eye or maybe dewy skin with peachy pink tones and clear gloss.
So having the umpteenth rainbow palette of the year paired up with them in itself isn’t a very thoughtful choice by CP.
I love BTS! I’ll have to check this out!
???? is this even about? No shades shown by CP. And now my old age will show: I have no clue what BTS even is! 😂
BTS is a K-Pop group!
My brain wasn’t computing when I read it at first, then the coffee kicked in and I knew it sounded familiar…but not fully, LOL! Now I can actually recall watching them on TV one time, it may have been on Jimmy Kimmel Live?
Thank you, Nancy T, for making this old-ster feel a bit less out of touch (I remember when they were in my city a few years back – pre COVID – and the mess the fans left behind).
This is making me so intrigued! I need to check this collection up!
Let me guess what age group CP is aiming this launch at??? Definitely not mine.
Well, for the fans – I hope they are good products.
I just saw the updated press release with all the product shades. I’m most interested in the lip oils as I hardly wear eyeshadow anymore (though I may snag one or two of the super shock shadows anyway). I hope these come to Ulta, I don’t have much hope of getting anything on launch day.
Well, they do have some BTS 21 at Ulta. The characters are cute and an outgrowth of the K boy band. I knew they were a major world wide phenomenon, not unlike the Beatles in my day. Girls going wild and tossing unmentionables. Their choreography is pretty well done. Each boy has a distinct personality, look, and ‘message’, etc. I’m still heavy into K beauty, but really can’t get into any group, when the sum of their ages does not reach mine, lol. Isabella Muse is a fan, iirc, also of K drama. ‘Spect you can find out about the young K fellows if you intragoogle on her blog
