ColourPop An Emerald Away Eyeshadow Quad Review & Swatches

An Emerald Away
ColourPop An Emerald Away Pressed Powder Shadow Quad ($9.00 for 0.21 oz.) is a new, emerald-inspired color story that included two shimmers and two matte shades housed in a clear, plastic compact. All four shades were pigmented, blendable, and longer-wearing, and bonus: three of the shades were more unique and harder to find (the lighter matte green especially hard to dupe!).

Facet-nation
Facet-nation is a very light, mintyg reen base with warmer, yellowy-gold shimmer and faint sparkle. The texture was more loosely-pressed, which resulted in light fallout during application with a dry brush, so you may want to apply it with a dampened brush or fingertip. It had opaque color payoff that wore well for eight hours before fading noticeably.

Formula Overview
$4.50/0.05 oz. - $90.00 Per Ounce
The new Pressed Powder Shadow formula is supposed to be “highly pigmented” with an “ultra-velvety and silky” texture that is “long-wearing” and “adheres easily to the eyes.” Most of the shades have semi-opaque to opaque pigmentation that applies well to bare skin, blends out without issue, and lasts for seven to eight hours.
The matte eyeshadows tend to be a little more powdery, though soft and finely-milled, in the pan, while the shimmers have a creamier, dense consistency. Occasionally, the more sparkly or metallic shades apply better with fingertips or a dampened brush.

Ring True
Ring True has a warmer, reddish-brown base with green-gold duochrome shimmer that gave it a metallic finish. It was richly pigmented with a smooth, lightly creamy texture that wasn’t too firmly-pressed nor too thick, so it was easy to work with using a dry brush or a fingertip. It stayed on well for eight hours before fading visibly.

This one feels made for me! Well, if I want to match my sage tinged blue-green eyes, that is. And sometimes I do, even though it goes against most beauty advise, I just don’t care.
I love matching my eyes with my eyeshadow!
Right?!? And yet it’s always about “complimenting your eye color” with opposing shades, and yes, I do plenty of that too. But literally NO ONE ever says to brown-eyed folks “don’t wear brown eyeshadow”, though! So weird. 🤷🏻♀️
Colourpop really can do greens well! I have Just my luck and The Child so I probably don’t need but I still want it…
This is a cute little palette, and it is interesting that there’s no true “emerald” green in there! Have you found these square-pan-in-acrylic quads from CP to be very fragile? A short drop onto soft carpet obliterated one of the shades in the Libra palette I have.
Very well done CP – it’s so lovely to see you do shades other than pink, orange and red. This is a little beauty with more original shades of green.
This is so pretty! I ordered the blue quad wish I’d added this green one too. I’m starting to appreciate smaller eye shadow palettes more lately. My eyes loves a large well coordinated eye shadow palette but then I get them and get overwhelmed with too many choices, lol. I think this year I’ll stick to 12 or less shades in a palette.
I love it! I do have The Child as well as a few other green-ish palettes, so I definitely don’t need it. But it is so pretty.
At only $9 and with some really unique, well-reviewed shades, I will probably have to go ahead and add this to my collection of green eyeshadows.
