Clionadh Mosaic & Heiress Hybrid Multichrome Eyeshadows Reviews & Swatches

Clionadh Mosaic Hybrid Multichrome Eyeshadow

Mosaic

Clionadh Mosaic Hybrid Multichrome Eyeshadow ($12.50 for 0.05 oz.) has a browner base that shifted from rich plum to copper to bronze to green paired with a sparkling, high-shine metallic finish. The sparkles in this seemed to be a bit finer and not quite as prominent compared to some shades in the range. Per the brand, it has a “peach/orange-yellow-lime” shift, which I felt I could see with ease in person without contorting myself.

The texture was soft, more loosely-pressed so you’ll want to use a light-to-moderate hand when working with it. It had opaque color coverage applied with a dampened brush or fingertip and more semi-opaque, buildable coverage applied with a dry brush with the former two methods being as recommended by the brand. The product applied evenly to bare skin and sat well without emphasizing skin texture, and I was surprised that there was just the smallest amount of fallout after blending out the edge. It stayed on nicely for nine hours and didn’t seem to have additional fallout over time.

Formula Overview

$12.50/0.05 oz. - $250.00 Per Ounce

This formula is described as being between the Jewelled and Glitter Multichrome formulas. They have "small/medium particle glitters" but with more of "the tones" of the Jewelled Multichromes. They can be used as a wash of "sparkle over the lid" or "packed on for full saturation."

The Jewelled Multichromes are opaque and can be applied with fingertips or a dense packing/shader brush, while the Glitter Multichromes have varying levels of opacity (the brand specifies on their site) that can be applied with fingertips or a dampened brush.

The texture was more loosely-pressed and less cream-like compared to the Jewelled Multichromes but was creamier and a bit more emollient than the Glitter Multichromes. They were mostly opaque to opaque in coverage applied with a fingertip or a wet brush and more semi-opaque and buildable with a dry brush. I didn't feel like I had to use a fingertip or a dampened brush in order to achieve higher coverage. I'd recommend pressing/patting the product on when using a brush to minimize or to avoid fallout.

The finish ranges from shiny with light sparkle to shiny with more moderate sparkle, and for as much sparkle as the formula has, there was little fallout during application and throughout the wear. The eyeshadows applied evenly to bare skin, blended out easily, and were definitely more user-friendly (and foolproof) compared to the Jewelled Multichromes, which I think aren't difficult but have a learning curve if you have not worked with black-based Multichromes before.

They lasted between eight and nine hours on me with minimal fallout, if any, over time.

Clionadh Heiress Hybrid Multichrome Eyeshadow

Heiress

Clionadh Heiress Hybrid Multichrome Eyeshadow ($12.50 for 0.05 oz.) is a bright, warm orange base that shifted from coppery-red to copper to orange to gold with flecks of pink and gold sparkle. Per the brand, it has a “pink-orange-gold-lime” shift. The lime was hard for me to detest–at best, I saw more of a greenish-gold (or a “cooler” gold).

The texture was soft, more delicate but wasn’t particularly prone to fallout as long as I patted/pressed the product onto my lid, even with a dry brush. If one used fingertips or a dampened brush, fallout wasn’t an issue at all, and those were the recommended application methods for the brand’s sparkly shades. It applied evenly to bare skin when pressed or patted on (with a brush or fingertip), and there was almost no fallout even when I used a dry brush to apply. It wore well for nine hours before fading slightly and had a smidgen of fallout over time.

Mosaic is what I was hoping Sextraterrestrial would look like on me, but instead, it runs a much more dirty green on my lids in certain lighting. Still like it, but I LOVE this one!
Heiress would’ve been a better copper shade in the same aforementioned palette than what’s in there already.
Probably sounds like I’m dissing PML Divine Rose II, but I do really love that palette. It’s just that I can easily see a few minor tweaks I’d make to it, if possible!

Every shade is prettier than the last. Such gorgeous shades. I am building a cart to give to my daughter as part of her Advent Calendar but I am on the fence about purchasing for myself. I really love them but with my old and wrinkly eyelids, they likely won’t be very flattering. Normally, I don’t care about things like that and just do what I want but if I am going to get a couple, I want to pick just the right shades. Normally, I am sort of an “in for a penny, in for a pound”, kind of person and would load up with a ton of them but trying to be better!!

Advent calendar! What an excellent idea! Even though I’m significantly older than you, I could and would wear these. My perioral and lower cheek area are what was affected by inverse psoriasis. I have a pretty loud personality. But, I know that if I start, it will be difficult to control. It’ll verge into Pokémon or Lays territory. I’m satisfied with enough e/s to cover the eastern seaboard, and really don’t need enough for the Canadian Maritimes as well. I’m trying to Nancy Reagan it (just say no.)

I have trouble with “just say no”. I am going to be very careful here though. I will likely stick mostly to the green/purple shades and try to limit to 3-5. We will see how successful I am.
Yes, I do a very elaborate Advent Calendar for my daughter every year. I purchased a paper mache round box and covered it in Christmas scrapbooking paper and vintage paper scraps. I then made 25 boxes that I adhered to the top of the round box and stacked them to make a Christmas tree shape. I covered each box in paper also. In the gaps I put Christmas decorations of various kinds. She has been using it since she was a freshman in college which was in 2013. Most of her Christmas comes in those boxes and anything that is too large for the smaller boxes, I wrap, number and put into the round paper mache box. I then put a wrapped note in the box for that number. It has become quite a tradition.

Yes, I agree. We only live once and I try to not let my age deter me from doing and buying what I like. I do often wish they had been available when I did have perfectly smooth lids but can’t turn back time!

What a talented, creative person you are Deborah! How lucky your daughter is to receive an Advent Calendar stocked full of goodies!
I understand, totally about your hesitation to buy these kind of shades. I love them, but with my hooded and somewhat wrinkly eyelids, I think they are going to look clownish on me. But I love them for everybody else.

I think that’s exactly it though! The look details were *only* visible on a separate page in a list format. But now, that center graphic looks slick, and we get to see the details immediately with the review of the shade.

I especially love the instant gratification of seeing the answer to my constant “My God, WHAT is that magical brow bone highlight?!”
