China Glaze Unpredictable Nail Lacquer
How Much Do You Like a Duochrome Polish?
China Glaze Unpredictable Nail Lacquer ($4.00 for 0.50 fl. oz.) is described as a “multi-dimensional gorgeous green.” It’s a seafoam-like green that flashes from true seafoam green to darker, almost forest green (but there’s still some aqua to it that it’s not true forest green). The only similar shade I could think of was OCC Chimera, which matches the darker green color you see at an angle. If you know of a dupe, please share it with us!
The consistency of this one was a little thin, and it wasn’t as pigmented as other shades in the collection or China Glaze’s polishes in general. After two coats, there was a very slight translucency in places, because it was somewhat streaky when applied. I would recommend going with three coats on this shade to get full color coverage. There are noticeable brush strokes, and they were fairly easy to control. I typically get a week of wear out of China Glaze’s formula with minor tip wear but no chipping.

I’m not a fan of how sheer it looks, but I do like the brush strokes it makes.
I guess I’m not enough of a nail polish expert, because I feel like China Glaze has released many polishes that look super similar (I’m sure there’s more differences in them all that I remember)… It’s beautiful though, but too bad about the formula.
Seems this would look better if over black or a white base. Pretty colour though.
I’m rarely drawn to duochrome nail polishes because they never look as good as they do in the bottle, but this one is pretty!
I chose love it despite it’s failings because it’s freaking pretty and I’m not adverse to applying 3 coats. I do find duochromes/metals chip and flake on me like no other however.
It looks to sheer and the colour is not appealing at all.
It seems like this would look really nice layered over a black or dark base!
Maybelline’s Avante Green is almost identical to this, except not as pigmented. With at least 3 coats it looks exactly like Unpredictable. It’s from the LE 2012 Fashion Week Color Show Nail Color Collection.
I have that one as well and it much stronger green tone to it compared to Unpredictable. But again your don’t need both lol.
The color looks much more rich and reflective with 3 coats, you can also see hints of blue then. So I definitely recommend 3 coats with this one!
Duochromes and Multichromes never look good on their own, they’re always sheer. They are supposed to be layered over black nail polish (or some other dark color) so you can see the contrast. Then they look exactly like in the bottle =)
wow this color is super pretty
Mer-Maid for Each Other from Nicole by OPI is pretty much an exact dupe for this shade. ๐
I love duochromes, I admit, and this is gorgeous – if only the formula were better!
That is such a pretty shade. And I’m not all that much of a fan of duochrome. Usually I only buy them in pink shades. <3
Anny – Hello Hollywood might be a dupe for this one ๐
Very pretty, the first green nail polish that I have ever liked in my life, sadly China Glaze doesnยดt exist in my country ๐
LOVE
and i dont even like duochromes
This color is metallic and beautiful but honestly lasted me day before it started chipping. And I only had two coats! When it chipped though, big chunks peeled off. Is it just me? My other china glaze chips really fast too! :/
