Do you change your fragrance regularly?

Do you change your fragrance regularly? Or do you tend to stick with the same one for awhile?

I rotate through four or five at any given time with three that tend to be mainstays.

If I find a fragrance that I find especially appealing, I will typically wear it frequently. But since spring has come around (well, springtime in Arizona, anyways), I have literally rotated all of my “winter” scents for more springtime fragrances. For instance, I am currently finding myself using Ralph Lauren’s Midnight Romance quite often.

I am a confirmed old perfumista; I have about 35 bottles and around 20 more decants of various scents. I can’t even give you an estimate of the samples that I have. My latest favorites have been

1. I Love NY for All by Bond no. 9 (coffee, caramel and cream – so cozy!)
2. Rose Alexandrie from the Armani Privee line (jammy rose when I want something light)
3. Korrigan by Lubin (sexy leather and incense)

I have stuck to the same Marc Jacobs eu so fresh – daisy fragrance ever since it was released. Sometimes I will wander to others but I will always come back to it. It is me in a perfume bottle and I love it.xx

i have around 5 or 6 different fragrances but i really only use 3 of them haha and 2 alternate between being my ‘go-to’.

my go to’s are black xs by paco rabanne [yes, i wear/love the mens version. it’s a lot sweeter than the womens!] and black xs for her by paco rabanne as well. and then mac’s turquatic is another staple!

Yes, I change fragrances almost every day. I usually choose what to wear depending on the season and on my mood. I own a dozen full sized ones as well as a bunch of samples so it allows me to vary.

I often wished – and tried – to find my signature scent, but there are too many lovely fragrances to choose from to limit myself to just one (even one per season!)

I have one favorite fragrance that I’ve been madly in love with since high school, and the rest I rotate depending on how I’m feeling that day. Amor Amor by Cacharel is the one I can’t live without. Replica Beach Walk, Marc Jacobs Honey, and Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb are the ones I tend to wear more often, but I have a few cheapies that make regular appearances. Avon Haiku and Free O2, along with Victoria’s Secret Amber Romance have solid homes on my vanity table because they’re all tied to pleasant memories of growing up. I’m on my last bottle of the Sephora Hello Kitty fragrance that came out a few years ago, and I’m totally crushed. I just bought a bottle of Marc Jacobs Eau So Fresh Sorbet and I’m anticipating wearing that quite a bit this spring and summer.

I really only have one: Voyage d’Hermes. I spent years ordering sample sizes of perfume oils, and I probably have 60 or so tiny little tubes of perfume, but when I ran across Voyage, I stuck with it and never looked back. Even with daily wear, I’m just now a few months away from using up my first bottle, and as much as I love that scent, I’m seriously considering going back to the sampling. I’m ready for something less light and nice, more … unexpected? I’ve been experimenting recently with adding just a drop or two of leather scent to my lighter oils to try to get a slightly darker, more rounded finish.

I collect Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab scents, LOL! So no, I definitely don’t wear the same scent every day. I might find one really suits my mood and wear it more often (I’m currently really loving Red Lantern), and I have some that are frequent wears in summer, fall or winter depending on the scent, but it’s very rare for me to wear the same scent two days in a row. I do wear TKO to bed every night, it’s an amazing lavender marshmallow and helps with sleep.

I have over 420 scents in my current collection. Most are sample-size, but there are at least 50 bottles as well. I’m currently working through testing the most recent Limited Editions to decide which will come with the two bottles I intend to buy soon, and am re-testing the old ones to go up for swaps or sales eventually.

I choose my scent each day depending on the weather, season, my mood, what I’m doing that day, and who I’ll be around.

I am a perfumista and thus I have now a very large collection. I have a signature scent which I have worn since high school and I alternate that with scents from my collection. Most of my bottles never get used, sadly. I will get stuck on a fragrance and use it for days until I get tired of it and then I switch off.

Tammy Avatar

I rarely wear the same fragrance twice in one week. I have over 30 bottles of fragrance and an equal number of samples. I buy samples on eBay for all the fragrances I want to try, plus I get samples from Sephora’s every month.

Tasha Avatar

I usually rotate every season until they’re finished. Although I do keep one for daytime and one for when I go out at night. I also keep those mini samples from sephora in a dish on my dresser that I use when I feel like switching it up.

Dawn Avatar

Narciso Rodriguez for Her. Doesn’t bother me to name it because it smells different on everyone. I wear it year round – everyone who knows me can identify me by scent alone.

Lacey Avatar

I get used to scents (i.e., I can no longer smell them when wearing them) inside of a week or two. So I’m constantly rotating new scents in. The downside is, that’s led to several bottles of spoiled or soured perfumes over the years, so I’m trying to do better about using up what I have before getting something new!

El Avatar

I rotate daily to weekly, pretty much like lip colours. What I wear for fragrance on any given day depends on my mood, what else I’m wearing (clothes, makeup), and what my plans are, e.g., a music concert versus going to work! I have a lot of sample sizes, which I buy and swap and so forth, and a few full bottles of fragrances I love and will wear fairly often.

calimom Avatar

No. I love the idea of having a signature scent that people associate with me. I might get a new signature scent every once in awhile but generally about every 5 years, maybe longer.

Genevieve Avatar

Yes I do change my fragrances regularly. I like to use a different one every day – I have a large perfume stash and it depends on my mood, what I am wearing and the season. I generally rotate through Modern Muse – EL, Y by YSL, Burberry Brit, Cinema, Visy by Robert Piquet, Black Orchid by Tom Ford, Poeme by Lancôme.

Brittany Avatar

I own [I think] about five or six perfumes and I tend to reach for that Ralph more often than not, but sometimes I will wear Marc Jacobs Daisy Eau So Fresh if I’m feeling really springy, CK One Electric when I’m feeling summery (it’s very citrus scented), or sometimes I like Davidoff Cool Water if I’m not feeling any of those first three.

Little Red Avatar

I change mine every six months with the season. But within each season, I wear the same fragrance until it’s all used up.

Mimielle Avatar

Yep, I change it a lot. I buy all I can but smaller 30-50ml bottles or even smaller if I find them, I love collecting and matching my frag to my mood! Just ordered 3 Vivienne Westwood frags yesterday after a friend was kind enough to send me swatches of her collex – nearly the entire line. There are a handful I stick by that I never tire of though, Guerlain Insolence, L’Heure Blue and Apres L’Ondee and Chanel No5 Eau Premiere.

Another BPAL fan here. Between BPAL and some of the other indie oil brands, I have a who.e Helmer drawer of 5ml bottles and another with more samples than I know what to do with. So yes, I wear something different every day. I’m actually not a fan of limiting certain scents to certain seasons; I wear whatever strikes my fancy or suits my mood or the occasion.

Rachel R. Avatar

I tend to have a couple staples, which I change up occasionally (may be months, or years). Juicy Couture has been a favorite for a long time. Lady Gaga Fame Black Fluid (I just used up a bottle) has been a favorite this past year or so. Katy Perry Killer Queen is in heavy rotation. Although, for going out somewhere nice and special occasions, I almost always use Opium, as it’s my favorite. I have some inexpensive scents and lots of samples for when I’m bored.

Meghan Avatar

Yes I try to! I have about 10 bottles perfume & it’s too many but I’ve gotten them over the last 5ish years. I also have a ton of sample viles iffy to get through! My favourite is Elizabeth & James Nirvana Black!

Pasheeda Morris Avatar

Yes. I have 12 Rose fragrances I love to wear all the time. Some are limited edition, some are hard to find. My go to fragrances are Forever and Ever by Dior, Elizabethan Rose by Penhaligon’s, and Roses 4 Reines by L’Occitane. Others I also wear are Miss Dior L’Originale by Dior, Paris Rosee Enchantees by YSL, Paris Premiere Roses 2009 by YSL, Anais Anais by Cacharel, Evelyn Rose-The Original by Crabtree and Evelyn, Aqua Allegoria Rosa Magnifica by Guerlain, Paris Jardin Romantiques by YSL, Rose Absolue and L’Heure Exquise both by Annick Goutal. I am also saving for my next fragrance, which is New Look 1947 by Dior. It comes from their La Collection Privee collection. I can’t wait to get my hands on a bottle!

Melanie Avatar

I change my perfume almost every day based on my mood, my outfit etc. Some common pairings:

Feeling romantic: Guerlain Insolence Eau de Parfum
A beachy vacation: Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue: Escape to Panarea
A modern/sleek outfit: Stephen Jones by Comme des Garcons
Important day at work: Chanel No. 19
Feeling anxious before bed: Floris Bouquet de La Reine
Going out (usually with a dark, vampy lip): Tom Ford Sahara Noir

I am a self-professed perfumaholic – I have at least 40 bottles of perfume on my dresser & I’m always smelling new ones! I have a few absolute favorites, but I wear a different scent every day.
