Bobbi Brown Metallics for Fall 2008 Sneak Peek!

Just a VERY short post, as I’m going to try to review eyeshadows and the like after I’ve attempted a look with them. Why this new policy? After being utterly disappointed in Dior’s Earth Tones quint in practice, swatches are proving they aren’t enough sometimes. Same with MAC’s mineralize eyeshadows–I just can’t seem to come around to them.

Bobbi Brown’s Metallics launches soon, and with it, metallic lipsticks and metallic eyeshadows. I know people will squeal and lust after the new metallic eyeshadows, because they’re very in line with Bobbi Brown, yet exciting and different. Pictured above are Java, Burnt Sugar, and Iced Blue. They aren’t all over-the-top, super shimmery metallic finishes; Iced Blue turns out a very icy blue indeed – almost like a white with some blue in it. It is frosty, and it definitely grabs your eye. Burnt Sugar and Java are much more subdued, with a subtle metallic finish – almost a soft sheen of reflection. I’m eager to check out the full launch when it hits stores!

And swatches of the three, plus Dusk Metallic Lip Color…

L-R: Dusk Metallic Lip Color; Iced Blue Eyeshadow; Burnt Sugar Eyeshadow; Java Eyeshadow

Please keep discussion on-topic, and if you have general feedback, a product review request, an off-topic question, or need technical support, please contact us!

Please help us streamline the comments' section and be more efficient: double-check the post above for more basic information like pricing, availability, and so on to make sure your question wasn't answered already. Comments alerting us to typos or small errors in the post are appreciated (!) but will typically be removed after errors are fixed (unless a response is needed).

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Thank you for understanding!
