Bobbi Brown Glitter Liquid Eyeliner Review, Photos, Swatches
Bobbi Brown Glitter Eyeliner: Silver, Gold
Haven’t We Met Before?
Bobbi Brown Glitter Liquid Eyeliner ($20.00 for 0.05 oz.) are felt-tipped liquid liners available in both Silver (bright silver) and Gold (bright gold).
- Silver is a bright metallic silver. This shade is just like MAC Nocturnal.
- Gold is a medium yellow gold with a slightly metallic sheen. This shade is exactly the same as Illamasqua’s Alchemy and MAC Pure Show.
These have a thin, almost watery consistency that’s been soaked into a long, narrowed pen. As I’ve mentioned a few times now (ha, ha!), I like the liner for its long-wearing capabilities, but the applicator is also very easy to use. It’s flexible without being all over the place, and it’s thin enough to allow for precision. (For a more in-depth review, you may want to consider my MAC Superslick Liquid Eyeliners Review).
The liner reminds me of tube mascara, because when you use remover on it, it flakes off, rather than just simply dissolving. I did find that taking a shower (heat and humidity) made it easy for these to flake off IF you rubbed your eyes, but they would stay put otherwise. It does stay tacky for a few minutes, so while you can’t do much if you make a mistake other than starting again, it will feel tacky to the touch.
It’s a good liner, but this is the third time I’ve seen it in the past six months, so it has me raising my eyebrows halfway off my forehead. MAC’s still comes in as the cheapest ($17.50, and it’s actually 0.06 oz.), and they are also permanent.

RECOMMENDATION: This liner formula that seems to have a lot of brands on board is certainly worth checking out, but what brand you choose is really more about personal preference as I have not observed any noticeable differences across the three brands I’ve tested thus far.

…Well, at least the silver is a new shade?
MAC has a silver – it’s called Nocturnal 🙂
As nice as the Superslick liners or felt tip liners are, I notice that they tend to flake on me near the end of the day – despite being long wearing. T_T I still like them but it’s annoying to have them fall onto your eyes or cheeks!
sooo pretty!! could you put these all over the lid to use as like an eye shadow? how do you use them as a liner? I dont like liner on the bottom.
You can use them to line your upper lash line, too!
i wanna get the illamasqua’s gold liquid eyeliner..which one is better in your opinion? do you think the illamasqua one is more pigmented?
They’re exactly the same.
ugh when I most recently went to the closest MAC counter to me (a free standing store is 40 minutes away while a counter is 10), when I asked to see the Superslick liners, she said they were sold out and limited edition. I guess she didn’t know what she is talking about (that happens at counters sometimes)… so annoying because I really want On The Hunt
It looks as if ‘Gold’ is more transparent that MAC’s ‘Pure Show.’ The first time I saw it, it looked like a piece of gold foil laid on someone’s arm (looking at the swatch that I was provided with). This just looks like a slightly heavier version of UD’s Liquid Glitter Liners, y’know?
tee-hee this makes me laugh. bobbi brown is an estee lauder company too aren’t they? maybe we’ll see these from e.l. and smashbox next year? 😉
I like the applicator but I’ll base and random question due you think benefits zone out
Would be a good dupe for macs goldielocks.?
It’s an OK dupe!
LOL @ the sub title of the article.
naaaahhhh….. These fancy stuff is totally lost on me.
luv a little metallic eyeliner once in a while to dress up a matte shadow. Metallic says special occassion!
Bobbi Brown and MAC — both under the Estee Lauder umbrella — doesn’t surprise me… I’m surprised there’s not more duplicates of colors, packaging, formulas amongst the multitude of Lauder “lines”… (EL, Clinique, MAC, BB, Prescriptives, Smashbox even…)
