We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Koh Gen Do Aqua foundation. Something about the formula that gives a beautiful and natural glowy looking skin.
Gets my vote too!
My vote too !
I’ll second MAC Face and Body. I use it by the quart on my legs as soon as it turns warm enough here in NE so I can ditch the tights and pantyhose. It does allow me to go without stockings, and present something better than pasty, winter legs. There is some transfer, be aware of that, but it is minimal. I like it.
I’ve never even tried it on my face, however, come to think of it…
I’ve never used it on my body….. but I’ve thought about using it on the legs. I’m just afraid of staining my clothes. And of crossing my legs and having the makeup sweat off.
Hi Ginny!
There is some transfer sometimes, so I only go as high as my knees or just below. I wear lots of skirts for work, and most of them hit just above the knee. You can’t see any line or demarcation of the makeup. It works well.
I’ve never had it sweat off, ever. But it has transferred to lighter color skirts–not anything terrible, but it has happened. Wash or dry clean, it comes right off. It will get on your sheets if you forget to take it off at night. It’s not perfect, but it’s not bad either. Better than pantyhose, and never ever try the Sally Hanson leg makeup. THAT gets all over. 🙂
Thanks! I’m going to try this weekend!
Let me know what you think!
Shiseido Sheer and Perfect. It really does “perfect” the look of my skin while looking and feeling like I’ve got nothing on my face. I have to give MAC F&B another try. I tried it years ago – a sample container which could be why I wasn’t impressed – but the praise from Evelyn and Linda has me thinking I should give it another try.
I know I talk about it all the time lol but Mary Kay CC cream. I don’t use any other foundation ever.
The closest I have tried in an actual foundation is Tarte Rainforest Of The Sea Foundation. I did love the sample I was given, only problem was that once I worked up a sweat, it just ran off me. I think I’m too oily or something. Or being outside catching buses in 112° just breaks everything down. Not sure which? But I absolutely LOVED the finish on it and how nice it felt!
I have very oily skin (for reference: I have to blot & use my MAC Blot 2-3 hours after I put on Estée Lauder Double Wear or MAC Pro Longwear + Urban Decay Naked Skin l/p), granted, I have moderately clear skin so sheer foundation is right up my alley because sheer foundation is more forgiving on very oily skin, no cakey-mess or creasing!
The only two sheer foundation that lasts on me is Giorgio Armani Maestro and Make Up For Ever Face & Body (the discontinued one, I haven’t tried MUFE Water Blend). GA Maestro wears longer than MUFE F&B, though….
PS: I just realize that not all serum-type foundation are as equally sheer as Giorgio Armani Maestro, I’ve tried the Laura Mercier one and it gives too much coverage to my liking.
I haven’t tried everything, but I like Givenchy Teint Couture and Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer (what I’m currently using) a lot. Sheer coverage is how I roll so I’m looking forward to seeing other responses. FWIW I have dry skin, not sure how well these would work on oily skin.
I haven’t tried Mac Face & Body though it sounds like I should from all the good reviews I hear, so of the ones I’ve tried it would probably be the Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Foundation. (at least I think it’s considered sheer coverage) It’s good if you have dry skin like me.
Urban Decay One and Done. This stuff is billed in a bunch of different ways including as a BB cream and a tinted moisturizer but I think it’s a sheer foundation with some added skincare benefits. It’s much more pigmented than any tinted moisturizer or BB I’ve tried, but simultaneously lighter-feeling on the skin, and it really does cover and last. It’s not going to be a flawless finish – I still use a little concealer if I need it – but on my oily skin a product like this that truly lasts all day is basically priceless. I hope UD keeps making this along side Naked Skin (which I also use for special occasions) and the newer All-Nighter because I think it provides the perfect complement to those coverage-wise.
Tie between Cle de Peau Radiant Finish and Armani Maestro Glow for true foundations. If you include tinted moisturizers, I really like Armani’s Crema Nuda.
Hi Christine and anyone who would like to reply, how do you guys apply MAC F&B foundation? Fingers, sponge, brush? I really don’t want to apply it with my fingers but I’ve read is the best way. Any preference?
I like fingers, but I’ve also used brushes without issue. I’d probably avoid a beautyblender, mostly because it is so water-based that the bb will soak up too much product!
MUFE Face & Body (the original formula). I haven’t tried the newest version yet.
I really like MAC Face & Body also, when my skin is clear (which it has mostly been in recent years). The shades are a pain (I’m slightly too neutral for C1, but N1 is just WRONG on me) but it neutralizes well when I set it with MAC MSFN. Occasionally I have a little bit too much redness, but I have other more full coverage products which work well in that situation. I’m definitely a fan!
I started using Chantecaille’s Just Skin a few weeks ago and it has become my favorite out of all the sheer foundations, BB and CC creams, and tinted moisturizers that I have ever had. It has just the right amount of coverage for me and lasts all day without ever feeling greasy. I just am happy with how it makes my skin look.
Eeeeezay! NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 30. Period. Ride or die. Love! :))))
Face & Body , fit me maybelline and Yves Rocher Luminous something in France 🙂
Haven’t tried that one yet! If I want to keep it light I usually just mix some foundation into moisturizer.
MUFE F&B. My favorite foundation. It’s really skin-like. I hope the new MUFE foundation will be as good as the F&B.
I like Clinique Superbalanced. It just melts into my face so naturally.
BareMinerals Complexion Rescue Tinted Hydrating Gel Cream. It feels like I’m wearing nothing, and it has just enough coverage to even out my skin tone. Opal 01 is light enough for my very fair skin.
L’Oreal BB – it’s the lightest coverage BB I found. Most BB’s have only 2 shades available and even the lighter ones are usually quite dark and visible. This one just makes me look healthier and it’s my second summer with it. The only downside is that even if it seems invisible, it’s too dark for my winter face.
