For me it’s been Tarte Tartiest Lip Paints. I own 3 shades (TBT. Hangry and Lovespell). I am looking to buy more shades.

I’ve tried many and I can’t stand that Jeffree Star’s are my favorite… LoL but they are. They don’t peel or flake on my dry, dry lips – they pack a lot of color into one swipe and I like that the tubes are bigger, they’re just easier to handle.
I like his formula too.
I haven’t tried too many but Hourglass’s is pretty nice. I only really have drugstore to compare it to!
Although I have not tried many formulas, I have 6-7 shades from Kat Von D. I like Color Pop as a budget-friendly option. I also tried LA Girl – not a good option.
I am loving the Dose of Colors. They feel great, wear well and don’t dry too much. I hope they expand their range of colors. Second would be Anastasia Beverly Hills.
I’m with Christine on this one – KVD Everlasting Liquid Lipstick is the best! It is easy to work with and has staying power. I only have two shades at the moment (Lolita and Ayesha) but I’ll be getting more!
Kat Von D as well. The shade Double Dare is quite possibly the most perfect lipstick of life. (I also own Lolita and BauHau5.) It wears forever, and even if you put a bit of lip balm over it, it still lasts and doesn’t look pulled-up in the center or get patchy.
Agreed. Kat Von D for the win. Very comfortable and I find holds up best to greasy foods. Which tends to be a big deal if you’re wearing a high contrast color lip color, especially.
Hands down the Jeffree Star ones. They’re so opaque and long wearing but so comfortable that I’ll forget I’m wearing one sometimes.
Jeffree Star Cosmetics makes my favorite liquid lipstick formula! They perform consistently through the color range, don’t overly dry the lips out, stay smooth looking (not wrinkled or shriveled in appearance) after hours of wear, are transfer proof, are super pigmented, and not streaky. No dehydration ring around the inside of the lip, either. I own a huge array of brands and these are the ones I continually reach for.
I’ve only tried NYX, ColourPop and Sephora really, and the Sephora one is definitely the standout for me. I’m sure I’m missing one or two but I’m running on like no sleep and fasting for a procedure right now so I may add a reply later…
I agree with your comment about the Sephora ones. They are definately underrated. You can’t beat the price and they have a nice range of colors. Kat Von D is so terribly drying on me, sadly I can’t wear it.
I’ve heard the KVD ones are drying, as well as that they tend to leave a ring of goop around the seal because of how long the wand is. As someone who is very much a neat-freak that is the biggest ever no-no for me. Not to mention the Sephora ones are cheaper (though not per volume but my liquid lipsticks last a loooong time so who cares) and if I need an unusual shade ColourPop is more varied than KVD (and way cheaper– $6!) as if I’m going for a green liquid lipstick it’s likely for rare, costume or geek-based occasions so I’m not going to need to shell out a ton of cash, and CP has pretty good quality liquid lipsticks.
Kat Von D, Stila and Anastasia
I really do not like matte liquid lipsticks so haven’t tried many and haven’t liked any (I think the ones I’ve tried have been from Too Faced, OCC and KvD).
I’m not really a lip colour kinda girl, I prefer a good lip balm. From the few that I have tried I didn’t like the Kat Von D formula and found that it rubbed and flaked off really easily. The Tarte matte liquid was better and I wear that one often. I find the one that holds on best for me is Stila Stay All Day. I don’t think I’ll bother venturing into liquid lipsticks any more than I have because I have one from Stila and one from Tarte that I like so that’s enough for me.
Despite all of the drama, I’m forever a fan of Lime Crime’s velvetines. They wear the longest, without being overly drying, and have never cracked or peeled on me. Stila’s stay all day liquids are a very close second!
I have to agree. The Velvetines are such a good formula. It’s a shame the owner gave a bad name to her own brand. Those and Kat Von D are the best for me. Still and Jeffree Star are runners up too! The Anastasia are overhyped, messy, and overly flakey
As of very recently; OFRA! Finally one that doesn’t dry out my lips, but wears like iron! I need to place an order to get some more of these. Before being intro’d to these, I had totally given up on ever being able to wear ANY liquid matte lipsticks. Heck, even KVD’s dried my lips up within 2-3 hours to a painful degree! Not Ofra, though!

YW, KJH! But tbh, someone else actually introduced me to this brand’s Longlasting Liquid Lipstick formula, and now I’m hooked! My lips could NOT tolerate KVD’s formula. Seriously, my lips hurt after only a few hours, these Ofra ones haven’t given me any issues.
Ofra liquid lipsticks are really good and seriously underrated!
I think ColourPop! I know so many hated these from the first release, but they are so light weight and long lasting. Doesn’t flake, crumble or ball up on my lips at all! I like NYX smlc and Ofra’s as well, they aren’t as matte and more of a mousse formula though.
I haven’t tried too many. I like Kat Von D.C. I have double dare and lolita. Nice colors. My favorite is Rimmel Provacalips. It is the only one I have tried that is 100% non transferrable and my lips stay soft all day. I have a color similar to KVD double dare. Really an amazing product. Only drawback is there aren’t a lot of color choices. I bought an Occ lip tar. It is a bright hot pink coral (quite bold for me) and more suitable for hot temps so I don’t know how it wears through out the day!

KVD, with balming a half hour beforehand. Have restrained myself on all the darks, too many dupes. Think I only have 4, the Lolitas, Susperia, and Outlaw. Ciate isn’t bad. Not into those moussey ones….got the Tarte one in the Sephora favorites nude set. Doesn’t set, and the color is not consistent in different lights, radically so. S.t. Peach nude, s.t. Straight nude, s.t. Pinky nude. And whichever it is, it winds up not going with the rest of the m/u or clashes with the clothes. If I have on rust, it looks pink. If I have on red it looks orange. If I have yellow on, it just looks swampy. Somehow, it manages to annoy me, unless I have on black, navy, etc. Like Nyx better than Tarte. Good that they all stay put, except the Tarte. Balming is a must. Before learning that trick, the bloody Outlaw made my lips look shrink wrapped. Gave it away, but had to reacquire, after I learned to balm first, a long time before applying the liq lip. Outlaw is so cheerful.
Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipsticks, hands down. Matte, long-wearing, super-comfortable, opaque coverage, great shade range, good applicator, cute packaging. All shades are formulated to also be used as eyeliners, as an added bonus.
Honorable mentions: Ofra Long-Lasting Liquid Lipstick, Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick, Nyx Liquid Suede Cream, ColourPop Ultra Satin, Kat von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick.
OK, Ultra Satins aren’t matte, but close enough. I’m sick and haven’t slept well. 😀 😉

I love Jeffree Starr. I have Celebrity Skin, Unicorn Blood and I’m Nude. They wear great, don’t transfer but I CANNOT FIND THEM ANYWHERE. I even follow insta updates on these, but, hey, I have to work and don’t have time to jump on the Beautylish app at 10am PST :)))))
Another huge surprise: Kylie Lip Kit in “22” I wanted one, and the color is absolutely stunning. It does not feel like daggers in my lips, they do not pill, the color is completely saturated and (to top it off) a woman I work with who is a makeup artist likes them. Score!
I love the Kad Von D ones but I just tried the BH Liquid Lipsticks and I love them too, their formula is very light and pigmented.
My favorite is Pretty Zombie Cosmetics. She has weird colors, they’re opaque with one coat, don’t need a primer or liner, not uncomfortably drying, and last for-e-ver.
I do love me some Kat Von D. But Coloured Raine are by far my favorite liquid lipsticks. Long-wearing, yet very comfortable. Not as drying, IMO, as Kat’s. The only other brand I’ve tried is Stila and I HATE their’s. They flaked and crumbled all over my lips.

I really like the Balm Meet Matte Huges. My other favorite is the Sephora house brand liquid lipstick (can’t recall the exact name sorry). Neither of these is too expensive & they last just as well as the Kat Von D. The only downside is that neither has a terribly wide range of shades. What few colors they do have are all very nice, every day, office appropriate colors – which Kat Von D tends to lack ( or at least they are never in stock).
Lime Crime Velvetines haven’t let me down for 4+ years now. I’ve tried at least 8+ other formulas aside from theirs, and nothing beats it! Hands down best formula, longest lasting, most comfortable, transfer proof and great opacity/color pay off.
My top favorite liquid lipsticks are the following (in no particular order):
Kat Von D – stays on beautifully, not too dry, gorgeous colors.
Jeffree Star – not drying at all with gorgeous pigment.
Anastasia Beverly Hills – feels a little moister than the others which has it’s pro’s and con’s.
Dose of Color – rich colors, not drying, lipstick bleeds on me sometimes.
Colourpop’s new statin liquid lipsticks. The regular matte ones are TOO dry.
