Benefit Sunday Funday Palette Review, Photos, Swatches
Sunday Funday… on Thursday!
Benefit Sunday Funday Palette ($38.00) features Hoola (0.1 oz., mining bronzing powder), Benetint (0.09 oz. rose-tinted lip & cheek stain), Shimmering Rose (0.18 oz., lip shine), Toasty (0.01 oz., eyeliner), four eyeshadows (0.10 oz. each), and two double-sided miniature-sized brushes. This is a companion palette to Scene Queen. Sunday Funday was created by Maggie Ford Danielson–the daughter of Jean Ford, one of Benefit’s co-founders–who is also one of Benefit’s makeup trend artists.
“Sunday Fun Day is all about pulling together a fresh, fabulous look after a late night. Whether you were up watching movies or dancing ’til dawn, this kit has the prettiest eyeshadows and complexion essentials to make you look beautifully revived…just in time for brunch. Waiter, coffee and mimosas, please!” —Maggie Ford Danielson, Benefit Makeup Trend Artist
- Hoola is a neutral-toned medium-dark bronzer with a nearly matte finish.
- Benetint is a very natural stain and one of Benefit’s iconic products. It leaves just the tiniest flush behind.
- Shimmering Rose is a semi-sheer pinky gloss with gold shimmer. It looks rather melon-y in the tube, but it brought out a lot of the pink in my lips.
- Shimmering Bronze is a softened bronze with a low warmth to it; for a bronze, it’s really not overly warm. Slight sheen, not too frosty, and nicely pigmented.
- Pink Satin is a light pink with subtle peach tones–not a true pink, but not really peach, either. I could see this as a nice all-over lid color.
- Light Champagne is a light yellow gold with a frosty sheen.
- Pretty in Plum is a red-toned, medium plum purple with a satin sheen.
- Toasty is a medium-dark brown with just a hint of warmth.
These palettes are an excellent way to try out Benefit products without blowing your budget. Sunday Funday gives you plenty of product, and it’s definitely a nice, all-in-one palette. I love that the lipgloss is packaged in a tube–you can tote it around with you later on, but you also don’t have to worry about it getting dust or eyeshadow in it, either. The eyeshadows were very smooth, buttery, and pigmented–they felt just like Benefit’s single eyeshadows. I think this particular mix of colors also works really well together; nothing feels out of place here.

Gorgeous palette, I want it ;-)!
I was thinking to myself yesterday…. Hmm. Will temptalia do a post about this product and woop she does. I really like this pallet and am considering purchasing it. It looks like it would give me a very pulled together look. Thanks for the post.
This looks like an amazing palette! It’s just what I need to pull off the Ballerina look i’ve seen around! Can’t wait to pick it up at Sephora!
Okay I must have this!! I’ve been debating over hoola for so long and it looks like it’s time. Do you have any idea when this will hit benefit’s site?
I don’t know if it will, to be honest! I just know it’s at Sephora…
I think this is perfect. Totally love it.
Ugh! I wasn’t going to get this but the swatches are so pretty that now I want it! Are these LE? Everytime I buy a LE palette I end up seeing it clearanced on Sephora and then I’m mad I paid full price. Maybe I’ll wait…
Thank you so much for reviewing this palette! I was looking through the website, in search of a review a few days ago, because I am very interested in buying either Sunday Funday or Scene Queen. Which do you recommend for a girl who doesn’t like heavy makeup, and keeps it as neutral as possible?
I’d go with Sunday Funday 🙂
I think I would buy it if after time I could re-use the cute box. But Benefit makes the kits in a way that I can´t. It will be better to replace the cardboard case for a plastic case, (where the products are placed)
O_O the lipgloss is so so beautiful!! the whole palette looks amazing on you!! What would you recommend for a dupe of the lipgloss? xoxo
Maybe Lychee Luxe by MAC?
Omg thigh your reviews are greatly appreciated I’ve been breaking the bank more than usual because of them ;P bit you’re totally right. I haven’t tried any benefit products besides the erase paste. And would love to get this to get acquainted. Ahah. Do you know if this will still be available in a hopefully soon friends ad family sale? Ahahah your look with the menento mori totally made my opiong of the palette to go from, “ummmm” to “omg, it’s the beat” 🙂 anyways thanks Christine that all you do with temptalia 🙂
Aw, thank you so much, Glessie!! 🙂 I really have no idea about sales or whether this will be up on Benefit’s website any time soon, though!
I already have hoola and benetint, so am trying to convince myself I don’t need this palette. Hmmmmmmm. We’ll see how successful that is!?! I’m actually loving Benefit products right now, after years of not really “getting them”.
I wanted to buy hoola and benetint, and the lipshine looks flattering on you Christine! I don’t know if this palette is already available, but I will ask for it at my sephora and see if I can get it for my bday 😀 Thank you Christine!
It should be! 🙂
This would make a lovely gift…
I looooove this palette!! the gloss… though it was like Nymphette…but is BETTER!!
Why the product is 28/30 ??
It’s good, but it’s not perfect!
this palette looks awesome ! Hope it’ll be available in Europe too !
Omg, this is like the prettiest palette ever!! ♥
Very nice 🙂
And the lipgloss looks really nice !
Ahh what a pretty palette- that champagne color is so gorgeous!
This is my favorite of these Benefit kits that I’ve seen so far. So cute! I need to get to Sephora.
Lovely!
OH MY GOSH, those colours are to die for.
thanks so much for reviewing this palette! i’ve been thinking about getting it, the colors seem good for someone with pale skin and hazel eyes. what do you think of the brushes? i would like to have an angle brush but i’m not really interested on spending a lot of money on one. and does the mini benetint have the same nail polish like applicator of the full size (i’m not really a fan of it)? thank you again i LOVE your site
I think it does!
Why no Benetint swatch?
How do you think this palette would work with my coloring? I have NC20 skin, dark brown hair and brown eyes. One last question, is that swatch of Hoola very accurate? Because it looks a little muddy… 🙁 I’m thinking about getting this as a present from myself for my birthday but I want to make sure all I would use all the products 🙂
I forgot!
I find Hoola muddy on me, but I’m reallyyy picky about bronzers!
I like it. Those colors are great, both in the palette and swatched. Still, I can’t help feeling like it’s not worth the price. Then again, I’m poor, so most stuff seems expensive to me. 😛
this palette is absolutely gorgeous ! I adorte the eyeshadows and i’ve alllways wanted to try benetint! but is it worth it for $40? I keep thinking of the size and if its too small.
Considering most eyeshadows are 0.05 oz. and $15-20, you get 4 eyeshadows that are each 0.10 oz.! Lipgloss is full size as well. The Benetint, Toasty, and Hoola are mini, but not much else is!
I have this palette and I LOVE LOVE LOVE it! There isn’t a single thing about it that I don’t love. Even the little eyeliner is great! The colors are totally wearable and you can go from day to night! The lip gloss is quite pigmented and gorgeous! I was always too scared to buy a big benetint as I thought I wouldn’t like it, but it is great. It blends like a dream and looks great on the lips too! Ok, enough raving! Go get one!
Hi Christine!! Thanks a lot for reviewing this product!! Did you follow the enclosed tutorial for the complete look (photo)? You look gorgeous with that combination 🙂
I didn’t, lol! I never am interested by those kinds of inserts… I guess I would rather try something myself 🙂
You look HOT in the full face pic!
Thanks, Sonia!
Love the bronze and plum shade!!
Hi Christine, I’m very new to the make up world. Hope to get some advice from you before make the purchase.
What eyeshadows did you wear in this picture?
Is the color of Light Champagne very close to Mac Sweet Joy?
What is the dupe (mac) of pink Satin?
Thanks.
I don’t think I wore any eyeshadow in the photos. Light Champagne is close, try Naked Lunch for the pink shade.
