Becca Ignite Liquid Highlighter Swatches

Just in time for summer, Becca Ignite Liquid Highlighter ($38.00) is here. There are five shades (though Ulta also shows another limited edition shade) available, and it seems like it will debut at retailers on April 4th (I bought mine directly from Becca). Two things I can note: 1) they’re significantly more pigmented and intense compared to the previous liquid highlighter formula, and 2) they are moderately to heavily scented (have to do more verification here).

Gratitude and Passion have caught my eye! Passion for winter or whenever I want a more glass-like finish. Gratitude for summertime to have a slight bronzing highlighter effect that won’t look too dark or too light during summer.
I wonder why Becca spoiled the highlighters with scent. Are they trying to hide the natural scent of an ingredient?
Agree! scent is a deal breaker, natural or otherwise.
These do look really pigmented and the shades are beautiful. Acceptance would be the one that would work best on my complexion.
I like acceptance and Passion for my coloring but all the shades are yummy.
Again, I just don’t see how much highlighter (liquid, powder or cream) a person needs (or wants). I rarely see the difference between the brands. This is a product that few brands do poorly (I’ve seen bad, but rarely). I have Revolutions liquids and they do just fine for my purpose and they aren’t the best. Perhaps that’s because I tend to mix liquid highlighters in my foundation (as I’m too mature to look like a lightbulb). I will say that if I were to reinvest, perhaps I’d consider Becca or Fenty as I like those (or a higher end like Marc Jacobs or Dior).
The added size and fragrance have cemented this as a body product to me. Packaging is beautiful, though.
I saw someone complaining about these because there’s no real replacement for Pearl. The limited edition/collaboration shade Love looks white-based too, but with a different iridescence.
Speaking of Ulta, I noticed recently that you haven’t featured any of their store brand on the blog in 6 years!
That would explain why I found Pearl at TJMaxx… I ended buying 2 backups, because they were only $10, so I think I’m set for a while, but Acceptance is still quite tempting…
Oh man you saw it at TJMaxx? I have one backup, but I use it every single day. I don’t know if retail stores are open at this time, but when things start to “go back to normal” (as if), then I’ll definitely check mine. Thanks for the tip!
They all look quite lovely, I have my eyes on Acceptance and Passion.
I don’t really need any highlighters though so it depends a bit on the reviews.
On the other hand, maybe it is highlighters I do need, and then put a lot of mirrors everywhere so I can see myself gleaming when I walk around. Then I have to buy sunglasses to all my neighbours so they don’t go blind when I walk by. 😀
I’m so bummed these all have such a strong color. When you’re super fair the last thing you want is to add an obvious stripe of color in all your “highlighted places.” It looks terrible.
Hope the limited edition one isn’t pink or gold and also that you receive it soon! 🙂
(neither of the two orders I placed last week have shipped yet….suppose it’s only a matter of time before it shuts down entirely)
I bought the lightest one via Ulta today, but I didn’t spend extra for expedited (since it’s just one item) – I was originally going to buy it from Beautylish but saw that their shipping ETA was April 24th!
I know Neiman Marcus, Saks, Sephora, Ulta, Nordstrom, Belk, and Estee Lauder have all been shipping still… okay, apparently I’ve ordered a lot in the last two weeks. ?
I placed a couple of orders during Ulta’s 21 days of beauty and got one package pretty quick, one rather slow, and one is still outstanding. I think anything coming from California is much, much slower than it normally already was, but I’m happy we can still get packages!
Thanks for ordering the LE shade too! I can’t wait to see it. Despite having more highlighters than I can possibly use, it’s awfully hard to pass up new ones. ugh.
Added fragrance and removed my favourite shade (Pearl). Can’t say I like the direction Becca is choosing to go, nearly everyone I know loved SSP and was hoping this would only be a packaging upgrade 🙁
