Anastasia Tinted Brow Gel For Kept-In-Place Brows
Anastasia Tinted Brow Gel ($19.00) is an easy-to-use, multi-tasking product to keep your brows looking polished and in place throughout the day. It’s available in three colors: Caramel (warm golden light brown), Espresso (rich dark brown), and Granite (grayish taupe). The one pictured above is the Caramel shade, which is a bit too light for my tastes, but at the same time, the formula is sheer so it does help make my brows look less severe and very natural. I recommend Espresso for those with dark black/brown brows like mine, though–it’s a much better color match!
Brow gel is designed to keep your brows in place; it’s very similar to gel that you’d use in your hair in the same sense that it gives you hold. Since these are tinted, they can also help fill in sparse spots in your brows and eliminate the need to fill in. I find that when I use Anastasia’s Brow Gel, my brows are held in place all day long, even though they tout that you can easily toss it in your purse for touch-ups! (You definitely can, it’s not a heavy tube or anything, but I had no reason to touch-up!)
Anastasia states that the botanical formula plumps the hair follicle, which helps to give the appearance of fuller, thicker brows. To be honest, I couldn’t tell you if it was true, because my brows looked to be normal fullness once they were set with this. Because of the tinted nature of the product, I found it hard to truly tell if my brows were all plumped up (mine aren’t too sparse). I think if you had sparser brows, you might be able to ascertain whether it does or not! One thing I do wish they’d change is the size of the applicator brush; it’s basically a mascara wand, but it’s just a little large for my brows. If you have very full brows, you probably would have no issues with the size.
You can find yours at Sephora.com.
$19.00? Would you consider this a necessity or a complete luxury product? The price is a bit much for me considering it just keeps eyebrow in place and I can barely remember to wax/pluck them, let alone use a brow gel. I guess it’s more for those who want a perfected face.
I really enjoy how you cover all spectrum of beauty products! Keep it up!
I consider just about all makeup unnecessary, but they’re things that are nice to have. If you don’t think you’d use it, I’d recommend passing. You could also try using a little styling gel (like for your hair) if you already own some, to see if it’s something you like and can keep up with!
is this different or better than the MAC brow stuff?
It’s similar, but the colors aren’t the same, so since MAC only offers three choices, and they only offer three choices… you may find one suits you better than the other!
This is a GREAT product! Much better then the MAC brow stuff (and I love MAC). I have blonde brows, which I used to color. The color was always to light or to dark, or faded to an orange color, just never right. I’ve been using this for the past year and so have several of my friends that have light colored brows. It gives a very polished look and stays all day. One tube lasted about 6 months, well worth the $$.
I’m really glad this color works so well for you 🙂
I really like this product and was using it everyday to keep my thick eyebrows in check 🙂 It really does work and I think it’s totally worth the money.
I agree with Christine though…I don’t like the brush and think it’s way too big…even for thick eyebrow’d peeps like me. It gets kind of messy.
Yay! What shade do you use, Shefali?
Not so good to hear that brush is too big even for thicker brows, boo!
It looks really cool, too bad we don’t have Anastasia here. Also, at first glance, the picture above looked rather similar to LA Girl’s gloss in Beige Delight.
LOL, haha, eye brow gloss 😉
