MAC or Bobbi Brown.
I’ll have to try out some BB brushes next time I’m at Nordie’s.
MAC reasonably priced and long lasting
ITA!
Sonia Kashuk @ Target…sorry…I like them! 🙂
I actually recommend these to those who can’t or do not want to pay the prices of high end brushes! 🙂 They’re quite good for the price. Also, craftstore brushes can be good, too!
yeah! Most of mine are Sonia Kashuk and craft store/artist brushes. i have no problems with them.
i love NARS, sephora pro and smashbox brushes
I’ll have to take a look at these brands’ brushes!
Hiya Christine!
My favourites, in this order:
1- Shu Uemura
2- MAC
3- Bobbi Brown
And I definitely want to try the Takemori Collction by Kanebo, which is being sold by Adambeauty right now. They are portable brushes, hand-made and the eye shadow one just looks super-cool!
Have a lovely day and talk to you soon!
a.
Hi Andrea! 🙂
I’ve never tried Shu’s brushes before! I’ll have to snoop at the Shu counter soon. Let us know how the Kanebo brushes are if you try them!
Chanel’s brushes!
Oh, goodness, those are a fortune! Lucky you 🙂
MAC, I recently sorted all my brushes and gave to Goodwill any brushes that weren’t MAC, then I hit the mall and spent nearly 100$ (thats after my PRO discount) on new brushes 🙂
Ohhh, nice! Brushes on a PRO discount are much easier to swallow 🙂
it’s amazing when you realize good quality from the bad ones. i recently purchased mac brushes but also the same craft brushes that you have like the maxine because i use those the most and i’m not afraid to abuse them. and the angled ones that you have, just last night. i don’t know ever since craft brushes were posted, i think everybody started buying them because they aren’t easy to find. but they really do the job. i also have a 10 year old bb liner brush that’s still going strong.
Oh, definitely, Victoria! I remember the brushes I first used (no brand, that bad!).
So glad to have moved on from that, lol!
MAC and a few Loew Cornell
Loew Cornell! Love their brushes 😀
Smashbox are my HG with MAC coming in second..
Another vote for Smashbox. I’m gonna make sure I check these out soon!
MAC!
I so agree, Ariele!
For high-end brushes definitely Shu Uemura! The bristles are so soft and they are to me, even easier to clean than MAC. But MAC is still great of course, especially the 182 and 187. I also have a few brushes from Laura Mercier and they’re great as well. I also just discovered this brand called Youngblood…I dunno if you’ve heard of this brand but they have really soft goat hair Kabuki brushes that are really cheap. I bought 2 of these and I’m quite satisfied.
Now that you’ve recommended them Janis, I have to go and see what they’re all about! What makes them easier to clean?
Haven’t heard of Youngblood myself…
Kevyn Aucoin’s brushes have blown every brand I have ever used out of the water. I got my set in ’02 and they are still in perfect shape, and they hardly shed. It’s next to impossible to wind up with “clown face” with these. They apply the product so lightly that you can work up to the color you want without getting too much on the brush.
KA’s products are awesome!
Oh, very nice! Five years and still going, that’s definitely good to hear!
I have this thing with germs. Even when I clean the brushes I have this image of bacteria running around on them!!! So therefore, I buy Sephora Brand Brushes- and dispose them every year and get new ones. They are not expensive at all- so I’m not hurting my credit card either! And the quality is REALLY GOOD. I would imagine that it isn’t the absolute best, but it is really good! My favorite is the bronzer brush- I love it as much as you love your couture 182s!!!
Wow, Annie! I’m glad you’ve found good middle-road brushes that aren’t too hefty to replace. I will have to look into this bronzer brush if you love it as much as I love my 182s, lol!
Overall, I like Smashbox, especially #19(face/body), #13(foundation), #1(powder) and #4(concealer). I find the quality of these brushes to be superior to other HE brands and most importantly, there is zero shedding. That’s a huge plus for me.
I also like brushes from MAC – #187(stippling), #168(blush), #266 (liner) and #219(shadow) and Stila – #28(line/smudge) and #6(lip).
I like that you have such a varied brush collection, Tonee! Sounds like you’re a big Smashbox/MAC girl though 🙂
Sonia Kashuk and MAC (brushes from the regular line. I dont like the sets at all…
