Temptalia Asks You - Are you willing to try new things when it comes to beauty?

Are you willing to try new things when it comes to beauty? Do you stick your favorites and find it hard to switch or try something new? Have you just found what works–and what doesn’t–for you, which is why you tend not to bother with new trends or products? Or are you constantly changing your staples so much that you don’t really have staples?

I’m always willing to try new things, but it doesn’t mean I actually try them to their fullest extent. I’m constantly on the prowl for new and better skincare products, but I am wary of accumulating too many without being able to fully test them. It’s hard with skincare, because you do need ample time to test-drive it before you can determine whether the results were positive or not. When it comes to trends, I find myself less inclined to dive head-first if it’s totally at odds with my personal style.

If left to my own devices then I try new things when a particular issue pops up. I would’ve never found my new holy grail moisturizer, Clinique’s Moisture On-Line, if my skin wasn’t going crazy (breaking out AND drying out at the same time, UGH!).

I’m pretty trend shy when it comes to eye color though, but will try different colors if given the opportunity. Parrot, here I come…

I’m very experimental with all my makeup…except for foundation. It took me 6 months to find one that matched my skin tone exactly and looked good. MAC earned my undying loyalty for that.

I always like to try new things. Whenever I read a magazine which says “this is the best foundation, moisturizer, etc.”, I definitely will try it.

Beauty products – I am always willing to try out mascara, concealer and eye shadow, because my taste changes in these products changes quite frequently. I’m happy with my current choice in foundation and blush (both MAC) and lipstick (99.99% MAC) so while I sample other products, I wouldn’t really buy them.

Skincare – it took me awhile to find a combination of skincare products that works well on me. The annoying fact is that since skin changes over time, I have to keep trying out new products whether I want to or not!!

I’m relatively conservative when it comes to certain items – I’ll never give up my Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer or my Lancome Dual Finish Compact.

But when it comes to skincare and makeup, I like to switch it up – blue, green, purple eyeshadows, I love them all. And I tend to switch moisturizers whenever the bottle runs out just to try something new (I’m on a Chanel Hydramax kick now!)

I’ve tried so many moisturizers that I have enough to last me a good bit before I need to even THINK about a new one, lol!

But yes, sometimes when I run out of a product like a moisturizer or makeup remover, I’m eager to test something new!

i love to try new things when it comes to beauty products: i love to use new ones, and my skin seems to like this, too. when it gets used to something,it will not work the way it used to.

i also love experimenting with makeup:there is hardly a new eyeshadow color, that i am afraid of.

Before I found MAC, no. I was so closed to trying new beauty products and wore the same boring make-up every single day. I would freak out when one of my items would be discontinued. Now I am so much more open to trying new things and experimenting. The only beauty products I do not like to switch often are things like shampoos or skin cleansers. I do not adapt to those changes well, and my skin ends up hating me. But with make-up, hair colour, nail polish, etc., bring on the variety! 🙂

The thing is, I try to be open-minded about everything because there are millions of products out there and there might be something I’m not using that works perfectly for me, with my skin tone, my skin type, my eye colour, etc. I am open as long as it is high quality, affordable, and animal-friendly. 🙂

i am willing to try new products for beauty. it might work! i buy trial packs so that i can finish it. if it works well ill shift to it. sometimes we should change our beauty products because what we are stick to do not work anymore.

of course!
I love to try out different types of make up just to experience. I’m dying to try the new Smashbox foundation Halo. Same goes with skincare. I like to try different things out to see what will work better than what I already currently have. but first I have to use up all that gratis I have still sitting around…
