Temptalia Asks You - What was the most luxurious beauty product you've tried?

What was the most luxurious beauty product you’ve tried? What about the one you’ve bought?

.

Guerlain’s Orchidee Imperiale cream is probably one of the more luxe products I’ve tried (samples, though!)!

I think I have a close tie between La Mer’s The Concentrate and Cle De Peau Beaute La Creme. That little cream costs 500 bucks(!) per ounce, while the concentrate is $350 for 1.7 oz so I guess the cream actually wins. I have very dry skin with eczema so I am all in for something that can actually hydrate my sensitive face very well. CDP la creme was actually pretty good, especially considering that you have to use it in a very small amount and it’s not even for an everyday use, but I don’t think I’ll shell out that much money again.

I can’t remember the name of it, but it was a $195 Frederic Fekkai Repairitive cream. The little sample made my hair amazing overnight, but I just couldn’t justify the price tag!

It was Bobbi Brown Extra Moisturizing Balm SPF25, which is around 95€ here. It is definitely a nice cream and I loved the herbal scent, but I’m not sure whether I’ll indulge in it one more time. I’m actually tempted to buy a jar for winter, because it is so rich and comforting…on the other hand you can get lots of other stuff for the money.

There is a caviar cream made by La Prairie. A 100 ml pot cost more than 620€ in France (830$). I have never tried it, mind you. I suppose it’s not for me.

The most expensive cream I’ve purchased in the past (when I had more money) was a Sisley face cream, 75€ for 50 ml. My eczema skin was so stressed that everything was itching. This one helped a bit but less than what I truly needed: a break and some rest.

In general, I don’t think super high prices are justified.

I’ve never tried anything really expensive, but I’ve thought a lot about trying some of the Creme De La Mer products. Unfortunately at the moment I just can’t justify it but hopefully one day I’ll have that sort of disposable income!

My dad visited France one year, and at the hotel he snagged some free Sisley shampoo and conditioner samples. The bottles were tiny, but I loved those products so much I managed to make them last for a month!

I tried the La Mer creme and while it only required a tiny bit and moisturized fairly well, I can’t stand the seaweed smell and didn’t feel it changed my skin enough for the price tag.

I don’t indulge in creams, I just thought there was no need. But the most expensive indulgence I’ve boguht in the past is Diorlight necklace. A whopping 90 bucks I bought, includes shipping. I hate dior glosses and the strong smell. I think this price beats out a lot-at least moisturizer can last you a while, this gloss lasted me less than 30 days. BOO

I have a sample of the Orchidees Imperiale cream, I should try it out! That’ll probably be my most expensive one then. I also have some Dior face cream samples (don’t know the name). I have not paid for anything like this in my life.

I too have been salivating for the whole Guerlain Orchidee Imperiale face line for a few years now. To buy all 4 items from the line would cost app. $2000!!!!
I did manage though to get a little sample of it (which I haven’t used yet! I’m saving it :P).
If I had that kind of money I’d buy the whole line!
I also had a sample jar of Creme de la Mer once. It was nice but I did not see any special benefit from it.
The most expensive products I use are COR soap bars ($125/bar). It was you Christine that did a review on it a while back. I also buy the Tawaka body balls (the brown and white ones).

Guinot Beaute Nueve Radiance Renewal Cream. Retails for about $250 here. Its a gorgeously scented pale pink cream that melts into skin and used religiously for a few weeks, makes a huge difference to my skin.
I love it – it’s probably the only cream (apart from my Dior eye cream) that I have re-purchased but I only splurge once a year…

although creme de la mer was a nice texture and all, it made me break out big-time. i finally just went back to my old moisturiser from l’oreal (‘visible results’ or something like that) and i cleared up in one day. i was pretty disappointed in the creme de la mer, but at least it’ll save my wallet!

The most expensive thing I’ve bought so far has been the Clarisonic & the Zeno systems. Chanel’s Hydramax Serum is expensive too – so far I’ve only used samples but I love it.

I used REcover Night Crème from Arbonne once, which I think costs around $80 for 1 oz jar. I actually got it for free with some prior purchase. Even though the cream was super nice, and I loved it, I never went back to invest the money into it again.

I just got Guerlain’s Orchidee Imperiale cream for $10 at a huge Makeup Sale! and I use it every night././/probably not much of a difference for that price and size…but whatever…I love creme’s 🙂 and of course La Mer…

My private makeup session at a MAC pro store. You pay $50, which is not applicable to any product, but it was worth every penny! We spent 2 hours together and I learned more about colors, tips and tricks, and brush application. The products that I chose cost me a pretty penny, upwards of $400, but I know how to use every single one of them properly! I know it’s not one luxury item but it is a purchase I treasure and a gift I wish everyone could give to themselves at least once! :]

La Prairie foundation. I still have it, it dried within a few weeks of me buying it. It leaves a velvety finish on my skin. I tried warming it up by rubbing it between my palms but it’s pretty dry. I don’t think I will buy it again.
