Is eyeliner vital?: For a polished look, yes definitely. For a minimalist or fresh look (eg, glowy skin and cheeks, pastel eyeshadow, curled lashes, etc) not necessarily. But mostly, it is 🙂

Is it vital: absolutely not. If you have great lashes and an awesome mascara, you don’t need liner. Sometimes, I find it gets in the way of a bright gorgeous look

Do you wear colored eyeliner?: I would if I owned some. I use Lise Watier’s Metamorphosis with coloured eyeshadow for a coloured eyeliner.

2) Gel and pencil. But, also, as of a few weeks ago, powder kohl (Guerlain): My new HG eye product!!! I LOVE it! It’s easy to apply on the water line, stays on for ever and gives a POP to the eye like no other product I’ve used before! My fave color is blue (#02) ( a dark blue-green). Before this one, I was using eye shadow in my waterline on top of pencil but it didn’t last that long at all.
3) It is because it defines the eye shape and color. It’s like contouring. Even if I do a minimalist look, I find it adds to it.

When I wear liner on the top, I really only put it on the outer portion and taper it in. Otherwise, it closes my eyes too much.

Do you wear colored eyeliner? Yes! I find that true brught shades are a bit much for me, so I use deep versions of colors like forest green, royal blue and violet. I wore 80’s discoish Navy Stain powerpoint liner today, with Carbon over it. Gorg!
Favorite type of eyeliner (gel, liquid, pencil)?: My favorite for precision is liquid or gel – when I need staying power I’ll opt for a gel liner like Fluidline – but when I want something sultry and smokey (which is more often than not), I’ll opt for a deep black kohl.
Is eyeliner vital? YES! Absolutely. I feel naked without some, and it always must be on both my lashlines, thickened at the outer corners and only 3/4 of my eye, and smudged. Smudgy black kohl is a 5-minute smokey eye!
Do you wear colored eyeliner?: Yes! I love colored liner and little to no eyeshadow. It really adds a pop to the eye and I always get so many compliments when I wear teal or green liners.

I’m visually challenged, and applying liquid e/l can be very messy, and if I’m not very precise with my gel e/l it can smudge and I won’t notice until it’s too late to fix. Is eyeliner vital?: Certainly not. I don’t wear eyeliner every day, and some looks actually benefit from a less-defined eye shape in my opinion. 🙂

It depends on the brand. For MAC, I love Fluidline, Pearl Glide Pencils, the PowerPointe liner, and some of the Khols. I am not a fan of the liquids they have…I can’t even remember the name right now. For UD, I prefer the pencils. For BB, it’s all about the gels. MUFE – love, love and love their pencils. All pencils need a super sharp point, though, or it doesn’t work.

I wear colored eyeliner a lot more than I used to. I have branched out beyond the basics. Being a women of color, I never really thought they would look good on me. My favorites eyeliners are gel/gream based, but for smokey eye, I like using mineral or pencil. Eyeliner is an absolute must. It brings you eyes out.
