Temptalia Asks You - What do you think of coordinating makeup with your outfit?

What do you think of coordinating makeup with what you’re wearing (whether it be clothing, accessories, etc.)? Do you like to be matching or are you more of a contrast kind of person? Would wearing an orange shirt with green eyeshadow wound your beauty sensibilities?

not so hot on the idea. As a “mature” MAC user (33) I prefer complimenting my makeup to my skin tone, hair color, and general idea of what fits my personality most. Bright red hair, fair skin, green eyes and usually golden and brownish/copper e/s. Lipstick I tend to play with a bit more, wearing red if the outfit is red and pink with pinks, grey and greens. Nude with brown. With black anything goes. I usually use colors I think will compliment or play up the outfit I am wearing for special times. Being to matchy matchy just seems a bit tooooo “young”…and not really in a good way…no offense.

Well I wear the same black scrubs to work every day- (boring I know) so I wear whatever makeup colors I please:) On my days off I sometimes coordinate colors but dont necessarily plan anything out. Just as long as it doesnt clash.

definitely match…it would be fucking weird to wear orange eyeshadow with a purple dress…purple eyeshadow would look much better. DUH

Matching is good but I don’t want to be limited with what color make-up to put with the clothes I wear either. For neutral colored outfits I prefer going wild with color coz at least something stands out with my look…for colorful outfits I either match or wear shades that compliment my outfit like blue eyeshadow with a pink shirt or purple/lavender shades with a green shirt etc…it’s sometimes much more fun for me this way 🙂

i’m with vonnie. it all depends on my mood … and sometimes the amt of time i have to create a look. i love to contrast, play with tones of the same or complimenting colours.

wear strong eyes (w nude lips) or bare eyes (w strong lips). what can i say, i love make-up : )

I like to think of using my makeup to complement and enhance my outfits. Depending on what i am wearing that day, my makeup will either have complimentary colors or contrasting colors. Whatever works 🙂

I like to match my makeup with my outfits, but some times if I oversleep and don’t have time to clean my brushes I wear the same makeup colors as the day before and have my outfit match makeup.

I do match for a very simple reason.I am NOT going to wear Mythology or Coppering with…pink shirt…and vice versa.
And because I do wear glasses all the time(I’ve got 5 or 6 pairs I wear on regular basis) the makeup HAS TO be suitable for the frame color – I’ve got one pair where I have to be careful…sort of 😀

I can go either way… If I feel like wearing a certain color & matching it, then I will. If I’m feeling extra bold on a particular day, I’ll find a contrasting, yet complimenting, eyeshadow color. A lot of the pieces of my wardrobe have different colors; for instance, I have a top that’s cream w/a blue, orange & brown floral design on it so I can wear anyone of those colors for my eye make-up. And then when I wear black or gray, I’ll go extra crazy & wear a teal eye or a red eye just because black goes with anything 😉

i always start with eye makeup.

what color my mood dictates, and i love to play around 😀

after that i match my outfit to my makeup,i have dozens of black tops, trousers and shoes.

black really goes with every makeup color.

and my favourite pro makeup artist, Pat McGrath wears black ALL THE TIME. she must know something 😀

i like matching and contrasting,too.

but for me makeup has always been much more important, then clothes. i feel naked withuot makeup 😀
