Seraphine, same for me with foundation, concealer and mascara. I will add setting powder to that list. These I use up before moving on to the next thing 🙂

MAC Early Morning Mineralize Blush – it’s so orange toned and really doesn’t flatter me or look natural but the finish is so pretty….
Chanel Ebloui Illusion d’ombre – it’s pretty dried up (it still works okay but I’ve other very similar shades of shadow but “it’s Chanel” and it was pricey….
Nars e/s duo in Tokyo – it’s SO bland!

Only 3???? I have so many foundations that are more than 2-3 years old and really need to go, except some were expensive so I hesitate to toss them even though I don’t wear them….Eyeshadow palettes are a must to go…same reason I keep them…I paid too much and so I just keep them…some are at least 10 years old! Lipsticks that are drying up should go too……the only things I toss frequently are mascaras, I usually have 2-3 in my rotation and get new ones every 4-6 months….

Very old Lancome and Estee Lauder lipsticks
any blush that has a fragrance as they tend to water my eyes and make me sneeze.
concealers as i do not wear them anymore

1.) Around 50-75 very expired nail polishes
2.) A slew of old, and even some not so old, MAC lipsticks that now smell like crayons/playdough? Still not 100% sure if that is just the fragrance disappearing or that they’re really not safe to use.
3.) Some eyeshadow palettes that I haven’t even touched in a few years!
4.) A slew of very old, dried up ColourPop SSS eyeshadows!

1. I just finished a pretty major lipstick de-clutter as many I had had for upwards of 10 years. Yes, you read me right, 10 years. I have so many of them that it would be a hundred lifetimes before I used them all up. I got rid of all my drugstore lipsticks, any that smelled off and many that I just never reach for or are in formula’s that I no longer like, such as most liquid lipsticks. The liquid lipsticks that I did keep I am using more like lip liners to keep my more emollient lipsticks from feathering. So I kept my high end lipsticks, most of my chubby pencil type lipsticks and all my lip liners.

2. I need to do a really deep foundation de-clutter. I am dreading it because they are so flipping expensive and I really wasted them by not wearing any for over 2-3 years. I will likely keep all that are still not rancid, those that match my skin well and those with formula’s that I like. Those three criteria will eliminate quite a few. I am putting makeup/skin tint or tinted moisturizer/sunscreen on everyday now, whether leaving the house or not so I will be wearing them. I have purchased about 8 cushion foundations and have been slowly working through those to determine which I like. I really like cushion foundations in general and love them for traveling so I am trying to determine which will work for that purpose. I would like to narrow it down to three, one for a more glowy look, one for a more matte look and one with a little more coverage.

3. Highlighters. I have so many and many are too dark for my super pale skin, not the right tones or are blinding and I just don’t reach for those anymore. I will be keeping my Becca and Hourglass because I carefully purchased those and know they work for me. I did pick up a lot of drugstore ones when I first started really using highlighters and I will likely get rid of those.

I think I have some old lipsticks that I don’t use any more – a couple of Clarin’s Joli Rouge ones and maybe an eyeshadow palette or two. I would have to have a big think about that.
The thing is that I have quite a few niche colourful quads and a few of them really do match a particular top/dress, so when I wear that item, I use the designated quad.
As for mascaras, blushes and foundations – I only use one at a time.

I have like 6 different face powders open, and I really should just throw away like 4-5 of them because they’re all super old and I rarely wear it anymore. I just can’t make myself tho because my 2 HG powders are discontinued and every time I almost throw my backups away the little devil on my shoulder goes “but what if you decide to start wearing face powder again?” lol.

I just did my yearly declutter and ended up throwing away FIFTEEN (!!!) lipsticks and 3 eye liners that had gone bad this year.

I should really get rid of my 2016ish makeup geek singles because they’re so dusty and bad dry now but somehow they’re still alive and kicking in my makeup drawer!

Lipstick, lipstick, lipstick. I use so many different colors that they get old and scary-germy before they are used up. (I use the BeautySoClean sanitizer wipes on them after applying lipstick to lengthen their life somewhat.) I can’t bear to throw out a color that I love, so they move to the “archive” section when they age out. I need to just toss the old ones, but I can’t bring myself to do it. I will occasionally swatch the dangerously old ones just to see the color again. Some of those old tubes are gorgeous and discontinued. (sigh!)

These 3 things come to mind in the forefront because they are cream products and old, but there’s so much more I should declutter!
– Chanel palette Essentielle (concealer, highlighter, blush in one palette). Probably approx 5 years old and haven’t used it for a long time now.
– Chanel Rouge Feu lipstick which I bought back in 2016…
– Dior Grege 1947 lipstick which is the oldest of the three, I don’t even know how old! I haven’t used this in years, either. Why is it so hard to toss make-up?! I’m not like this with other things in life 😀

I am in denial about the Chantecaille lip veil in Acacia because the shade and formula are so perfect for me, it’s one that I still use, it was LE so I can’t replace it, and I thougth this would be a lipstick that I actually end up finishing (not much left in the bullet) but if I am completely honest, I think it has gone a bit dry by now, 2,5 years after opening.

Lip balm. I have some that expired in 2016 by Revo that I’m holding on to for sentimental reasons because they still smell great.

Skincare. I know I have products that do the same thing that I need to declutter.

Nail polish. I have some that were gifted to me that were total duds in that the formula was crap or the color didn’t suit me, but I always feel bad throwing gifts away.
