Im really digging the VBB lid lustre in Tea Rose lately for a one and done look, paired w a bit of matte liner.
For a “no makeup-quick look” it’s got to be MAC Painterly and for a bit more colour, L’Oreal’s Tender Caramel or Bronzed Taupe. For crayon/stick type cream shadows, Laura Mercier Khaki, Lise Watier Chic Glam or Bronze Glam (for a more noticeable colour) and Sephora’s own brand of fat liner/shadow sticks in Dark Taupe Shimmer.
I need to start using some of these more often. These questions/surveys are really good for motivating me to use products I’ve put aside for far too long.
MAC Paint Pot in Groundwork
Same! That’s my everyday shadow. If I want something a little more I will dab a topper shade like Babe In Charms on top of Groundwork, or I have an Ulta single that’s like UD’s Space Cowboy. I’m trying to find a decent topper shade with a blue flash to use for this but haven’t found the right one yet.
My other favorites are CT ETM in Oyster Pearl and in Pillow Talk. Rose Gold is very nice, too.
I also love ColourPop SSS in Wattles but like I said in another post they discontinued it for a few years, brought it back but it’s been sold out for a long time. I’ve pretty much given up on it and I’ve tried to find a suitable dupe. CT’s Pillow Talk scratches that itch but it’s not a true dupe.
I like to top Groundwork with MAC Satin Taupe or Shale eyeshadow.
Although it’s been discontinued I bought back ups for Marc Jacobs “the big O” powder shadow…Its nude with a soft sheen no metallics or glitter but not quite matte…perfect to give the lids some coverage and glow for days when I just want to look polished….Christine your comment about Lisa Eldridge liquid shadows had me intrigued so I had to check them out….I love her foundation and lipsticks so I figured they have to be good too! Now my wallet is a little more empty but can’t wait to try them……
Fingers crossed you love them as much as I do!
ColourPop Koosh, Wattles, “3” and Angelic. Unfortunately, there is no such thing as a one and done for these hooded eyes!
About Face Capulets or Colourpop Super Shock in Ritz
I don’t generally do ‘one and done’s’ as my hooded eye lids require a little more definition. If I want a minimalist eye look I go for two shades. I don’t own any shadow sticks or liquid eyeshadows. The closest I come to a cream is from the Maybelline’s Burgundy Bar and there I would use a chamgagne shade with either the shimmery taupe colour or the bronze shade.
Much like you, I rarely do ‘one-and-done” looks partly due to my lids drooping with age, but also due to my tastes (I like usually multiple colors). And though I’ve bought stick creams eyeshadows and one or two liquid ones, I rarely use them. But one that I likely was a liquid formula made by a UK company called LUSH. When I do use one, I too prefer the champagne or pink-champagne colors with a taupe or bronze. 😉
For me it sort of depends on the time of year that I am doing my one and done look. I particularly love Lisa Eldridge’s Titania and Cressida. For fall and winter looks I like Tom Ford Platinum and Chanel Patine Bronze. I wish there was a more cool toned shade but love all of these.
I love several from charlotte tillbury.
I love Charlotte tilbury’s cream eyeshadows in the shades pillowtalk, oyster pearl and the champagne colored one that i forgot the name of. They’re all so quick and easy to use 🙂
I have so many but my most used are ColourPop SSS The Griffith or Koosh; Ritual de Fille Serpent de Mar or Flora; and Bobbi Brown Moonstone.
It’s not a liquid/cream formula but my all time favorite one and done is still MAC Satin Taupe!
I tend to use my Kaja Trios as one and done by only using one shade on the lid (I have Peach Madeline and Orange Blossom). I also have a few Urban Decay Moondust Shadows that I love using as one and done wet looks. My stand-by is l’Oreal eye pot in Amber Rush. Such a gorgeous shade.
