Please help us streamline the comments' section and be more efficient: double-check the post above for more basic information like pricing, availability, and so on to make sure your question wasn't answered already. Comments alerting us to typos or small errors in the post are appreciated (!) but will typically be removed after errors are fixed (unless a response is needed).

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Thank you for understanding!

Same re the issue of drying out. All my MJB Highliners except the newest one dried out terribly (I even tried to restore them with a drop or 2 of Duraline, but no real success to be had). Even my newest one is becoming draggy so I’m trying to make a point of using it as much as possible. I have much cheaper pencils from Sephora and UD that last ages longer than the MJ ones.

I miss Tarte’s Tarteist clay liner (with the little angle brush) almost every day!! There really was nothing like that formula out there (to me, at least). One tube would last me a year of heavy eyeliner and it never budged, never irritated, and was always gorgeously matte without crinkling. The Bobbi Brown & Melt eyeliners I use now are fine, just not perfect. :C

Dear Essence, please bring back your fabulously wonderful, bulletproof, can go 14+ hours potted gel eyeliner Midnight In Paris??? I’m literally begging you, because I’ve tried MAC Blacktrack, but it has an odd warm cast to it, whereas Midnight In Paris is the deepest PURE black gel eyeliner that I ever used! I probably went through over 20 pots of it because I loved it THAT much!🖤🖤🖤

I have to say I’m an eyeliner expert the way some are with mascara I totally have every kind of eyeliner from gel to old fashioned from France cake liner. Hands down for me is the twist up eyeliner. I have 18 different brands, I only use Revlon. It’s easy and applies like a dream all for $7.00. Underrated imo

The only liner that has never smudged and is not disturbed by a lash curler or watery eyes in the Bobbi Brown gel/pot liner. Unfortunately they discontinued several shades. Chocolate Shimmer is my favorite.

I was working through a backlog of eyeliners so I never got to try the MJB liners, I hear SO many people mention them as the one product they would bring back so I’m kind of bummed I never picked one up.
