We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Thank you for understanding!

Professionalism and polish, e.g. NOT the same white label/private label (or, dog forbid, drop-shipped) merchandise being sold by dozens of other aspiring entrepreneurs, with labels featuring clip art and/or misappropriated image search results and system default typefaces, sold through basic websites laden with typos and lacking comprehensive product information.
Hearing about positive experiences from other consumers—and maybe more importantly, not hearing any super negative experiences.
Offering products that a. I don’t already own b. are done better/more to my taste than competitors’.
Friends recommended them, or bloggers and YouTubers I trust feature them and have good things to say. A good shade selection helps.
1.) Friends/family member (who is also a makeup lover) recommendations
2.) Trusted, clear reviews and ACCURATE swatches.
3.) Not a “drama” brand, for example: anything Kardashian, J*, or the like.
4.) Just concerning skincare and hair care, try generous samples BEFORE purchasing full-sized versions in order to make sure that the product does what it’s intended and doesn’t cause a reaction with my sensitive breakout prone skin, sensitive eyes, etc.
I love new makeup, if it has great reviews and the colors are appealing I’m more likely to jump in.
I have tried many, many new brands (to me) since I started reading Temptalia. What convinces me is a very positive review from you Christine, plus the products on offer have to be my kind of shades – whether it be a lipstick, a set of eyeshadows or a blush.
I am always willing to give a new brand a go, especially if it has your approval.
Affordability, absolutely. If it’s expensive I’m not getting it. I also am compelled by positive reviews from friends and influencers I enjoy. Beautiful colors too.
Good reviews (either from “ordinary” users or non-gushing, professional type bloggers/reviewers like Christine here at Temptalia) AND – this is a biggie for me – availability in store near me so I can check out for myself how I like it, how useful it might be for me, personally.
You do, Christine.
Good reviews from trusted Youtubers and you, Christine, over a longer period of time. I’m unlikely to be in the first wave to get on board of a new brand as it takes time to convince me. If I have heard good things about a brand for a sometime already AND they come up with a release with a colorstory that is very appealing to me, and/or I have a promotion code, that is when I will give the brand a chance. There are so many brands that are not available in my country (talking even about established brands like NARS, Charlotte Tilbury, Natasha Denona, Pat McGrath etc.) so trying anything new will mean making an online purchase withtout the chance to see the products in person first, so that is why there has to be a lot of good publicity for a good while before I will plunge in.
