Please help us streamline the comments' section and be more efficient: double-check the post above for more basic information like pricing, availability, and so on to make sure your question wasn't answered already. We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Thank you for understanding!

I’m carrying SUCH a major grudge about Craving. Pretty much anything else that’s discontinued, I can cope with (I’ve never hit pan on an eyeshadow and only ever on one blush) but I’ve been though umpteen tubes of Craving and when my last 3 are done, I’m going to have a real crisis.

Both MAC and UD due to their quality issues. And MAC in particular due to no more LE collections! Because as much as some of them were rubbish, most of them were either really lovely and unique, or at least had half or more compiled of more unique tones and great quality.

Pat McGrath Labs has become so painfully repetitive and is getting to be boring. Although she did finally give us bronzers, the replacement for the EXCELLENT LuxeTrance Lipsticks is ‘meh’. Yeah, I’m not a big fan of the Satin Allure the way I was towards LuxeTrance.

MAC. Still releasing bad formulas, still using animal products (although I will mention that they did completely stop using animal hair in their brushes a few years ago, and the site description for the Locked Kiss lipsticks specifically mentions that they are “free of animal derived ingredients”), needlessly creating waste and death for no good reason…and removing the consumer incentive from Back2MAC.
There are also some brands that disappoint me simply by existing.

Honestly? Tarte. I really thought they’d gotten their act together after that disastrous Shape Tape foundation release. They consistently released foundations with decent shade ranges and always featured creators from a wide range of backgrounds on their insta and advertising. The recent mishandling of the F1 brand trip made it clear that these changes were surface-level only, and that at its core, the brand doesn’t care about inclusivity beyond their bottom line.

Pat McGrath – Everything, except for the bronzers, has been repeats of the same old color stories. I’ve decluttered everything I picked up from the last Star Wars collection and regret picking up 1 of the 6 pans from the love collection. The new balm blushes look pretty, but I’m blushed out right now. And the quad is the same dang color story – pinks/roses/plums. 🥱

I pretty much agree with all the prior comments….UD, MAC, Nars……also I haven’t been excited about any of the new PML eyeshadow releases, just more of the same..nothing new enough to spend that kind of exorbitant price point on thought I did purchase 2 bronzers….I seem to be gravitating towards the new brands that have hit the market which seem more inovative.

Laura Mercier (never thought I’d be saying this). I’m a long time LM customer but since they were sold/bought by this company (name escapes me) I’ve seen everything and I mean everything go down hill. Cheap, run of the mill products now. They lost me ! To be replaced by???? Not sure yet. And I agree with you all MAC needs to up its game!

Just about most brands, except for a few indies like SG. As we have seen in today’s post – a lot of new products out (except for the Armani blushes – which have been stellar) are just woeful, repetitive and even charging heaps of money for the priviledge of wearing their poorly formulated products.

Mac. Can’t believe they got rid of their back to Mac program. Nars, but I love their tried and true products so they are more of a staple brand for me. UD had a been a goner for me in my mind for a long time.

MAC as I said in my reply to Mariella.
The create the Love Me Lipsticks, a formula that I really do like just to DC it after a few years, taking my first HG lipstick off the market. I don’t even have a back up. It was Hey Frenchie! almost a MLBB for me and so comfortable.
Few of their LEs are fun, though I did love The Whitney Houston one.
The new 6 pan eyeshadow palettes doesn’t make up for them DCing some of my favourite eyeshadows.
I also have to agree about UD, though the lipsticks seem nice, I’ve not tried any of them yet, but they got good reviews here.
PMG, I feel so bored, and have to (again) say that I find some of the palettes I do own quite bad for a high end brand.
I think I could make this list endless (almost), so many brands launch something sort of interesting but keep adding to the “gasm” theme or same old warm neutral themes.
I feel bored, but do get excited by some of the indie brands.

Agree with prior comment and disappointed with Urban Decay. Urban Decay seems to be living off its brand name but the product itself is not living up to the brand. Example: Urban Decay
24/7 Glide-On Waterproof Eyeliner Pencil tips constantly break off with minimal pressure, some broke off as soon as opened, then can only sharpen a few times, color drags, Color Vice metallic fallout …all this for a high $25 price. Would rather give me money to Rare Beauty whose profits benefit a good mental health cause.
