What kind of wear and longevity do you look for in a perfume? What's most/least important?

I like a perfume that wears for a solid 10 hours at a moderate level, like I don’t mind it turning into a skin scent, but I would prefer that not to happen until much later on in wear.

I mostly wear perfume oils, so I’m used to longer wear with softer throw. I don’t really want a huge sillage or projection anyway, and really strong perfumes tend to give me a headache. I’d like to be able to smell a scent for 8-12 hours, even if its skin scent. If someone at arm’s length can smell it at 4-6 hours I’d say it’s performing very well.

I like a fragrance to last throughout my work day or the better part of it. I recently bought Maison Margiela’s On a Date – I actually bought two bottles of it because I realized after having one bottle for a few days that this scent doesn’t last very long, which was a bit disappointing but I like it so much that I do want to have it and be able to be lavish with it (in terms of reapplying, not in terms of dousing myself liberally).

I expect if I put it on at 8 am, it is still there early evening. Don’t expect it to be blasting, but soft skin scent I can still smell.

I don’t mine reapplying my perfume but I want at least a good 6 hour scent bubble. I prefer beast mode fragrance projection but a moderate projection and sillage is also good. I like my fragrances to show up and show out. They cost enough! Not a big fan of skin scents except at bedtime.
