Recent Purchases/Rediscoveries: Giorgio Armani Lip Maestros x6, Chane Blush Quad x1, Sydney Grace March bundle

Weekend plans: Pretty much right after I publish this post, I’ll be off to photograph and swatch a lot of products that came in this week… mostly blush/highlighter/cheek products, so wish my cheeks luck, LOL! My mom is hoping to stop by either today or tomorrow to see the puppies.

What does your typical morning routine look like? I usually wake up around 5-6AM, feed Winston his breakfast, make my latte, and then settle into work. I tend to be most productive from 6am-11am, then I peter out from there. With fostering Bri and her babies, I’m waking up around 4-5AM, feeding Winston and then Bri, then making sure she gets attention and love for an hour or so (and lately, making sure she nurses her babes) before settling into work for a few hours. I usually take a break around 10AM to do my daily weigh-in for all the puppies and make sure she nurses again.

Psst… since it’s Friday and we’re heading into the weekend, if you have some downtime, consider playing one of the games hubby and I have created! 🙂 You’ll find all of our games on Awordy, but here’s a breakdown of what we have so far:

  • Adoptle (guess the name of an adoptable pet in six guesses)
  • Concludle (figure out the subject within six clues)
  • Mislettered (guess one letter at a time to figure out the phrase/quote)
  • Word Frenzy (find as many words from the letters available before the shark devours them)

This week's doggo photo/video...

I’m so glad the steaklets are thriving! It’s been so fun watching the videos and seeing how much they’ve grown in the last couple of weeks.

Recent Purchases: My order from the Clionadh restock should be in today! I got Court Jester, Redox, Palace and Flashed Glass. I also purchased a gloss from PMGL; I really do love that gloss formula. So many glosses either have a weird scent/taste that makes my throat feel raw or a minty tingle, which I rarely want. PMGL glosses just smell nice and have a great feel.

Rediscoveries: PMGL glosses! Milani Luminoso blush. Going thru my foundations and figuring out which ones I like best.

Weekend plans: I have a cousin that’s in town, so this weekend we’ll be shopping together and having a family get together as well.

What does your typical morning routine look like? I wake up at 5am and put on my makeup/get dressed. Then I make the bed and pick up the bedroom (it just helps me feel more ready for the day). I wake up my son and feed him breakfast, grind my coffee. Then once my son is dressed and ready for school, my husband drops him off and I have breakfast and coffee while I prep for the work day. If it’s a day that I head into the office, I drop off my son to school and make the 40 min drive to work and have breakfast and coffee on the way.

Those puppies are so utterly adorable!

Recent Purchases: MAC Paint Pot in Groundwork (love, love, love!). Also did a Back-to-MAC and got MAC Down to an Art lipstick. I still have enough for one more Back-to-MAC before it ends, but I can’t find another shade that I want. (I never thought in a million years that I’d write a sentence like that!)

Rediscoveries: MAC Velvet Teddy lipstick. I rarely reach for it because it’s darker than the “nude” shades I normally wear to work. But I’m wearing it today and it is really pretty.

Weekend Plans: Music lesson, visiting family, laundry

What does your typical morning routine look like? Weekday routine goes like this: Alarm goes off at 5:45 am. I turn it off, fall back to sleep. Alarm goes off again at 6 am. I silently curse the alarm as I get up and head to the shower. I get dressed (I always pick out my clothes the night before so I don’t have to think about it that early in the morning). Next is makeup. I begin the 40-minute drive to work at 6:45, stopping at the grocery store to pick up fresh fruit and a salad for lunch. I settle in at work and have a cup of coffee and some fruit. I log into my work email with fearful anticipation of what fresh crises I’ll need to deal with that day. On the weekends I sleep in, waking up somewhere between 10 and 11 am. Other than that, there is, thankfully, no weekend morning routine.

Groundwork is SO lovely and such a “go to” shade/product. I remember when I got my jar, it was so soft and lovely to use. I just wish there was a way to keep MAC Paintpots in their original condition (they stay useable and functional and Inglot Duraline is a great help too but I do wish there was a way to design a jar that kept them fresh and creamy for their entire “life”)

I want the entire side of cow! Those puppies are just too, too cute!

Recent Purchases/Rediscoveries: None, I have been trying to shop my stash. We are leaving town for a week and I don’t want any deliveries. Would like to do a Ulta run for the 21 days of beauty before I go, but it will be a tight schedule.

Weekend Plans: Taking inventory of clothing and toiletries, deciding if we need a new suitcase, and possibly doing my last Back-to-Mac swap.

Typical Morning Routine: I get up between 6 and 7. Jump on the treadmill and do my run, get showered and dressed with makeup on. Start work on the computer around 10 am and work until lunch. If I’m working out of the house or teaching, I have to be up at 5:30 am and in the car by 6:15, so everything gets condensed into the fastest version of my shower/hair/makeup routine.

The posts on the dogs are so cute!!!
Recent Purchases/Rediscoveries: I played with my ole Ace Beaute Nostalgia palette.
Weekend plans: Going to have nice appetizers while we watch The Oscars.
What does your typical morning routine look like? These days, nothing is ever really the same except that I wake up around same time every day, stay in bed a little while longer, and try to remember to brush my teeth after breakfast!

Steaklets!!! 💗
So glad that Winnie and Bri are getting along and even romping around together!

Purchases/rediscoveries: I don’t believe that I bought anything this week. And with what happened to Clarissa, no rediscoveries either. Penelope, my once feral, fierce kitten has become very clingy since I had to have her BFF, Clarissa humanely euthanized on Tuesday evening. It just seems unreal, or surreal to me, though. Today, I may literally have to wear a full face of makeup to go food shopping.

Weekend plans: Sign a 6 month lease for this dump, go food shopping today or tomorrow, idk? Zoom meeting tomorrow morning. I really don’t feel like doing anything.

What does your typical morning routine look like? Umm… depends on quality and quantity of sleep the night before! Usually, I get up somewhere between 9 am and 12 noon, feed cats, make coffee, check for missed calls since I turn my ringer off at bedtime, check emails, Facebook, then jump on here, then IG for a cat group.

Thank you, Seraphine. It’s never easy losing a beloved fur-baby. And, yes, I know how even months later, even years, it still hurts our hearts. I totally get it when it comes to your own dog. There’s a part of me that the culmination of losing Pookie, Scunci and now Clarissa has left numbed out, sad and lifeless. Pretty sure my 2 surviving cats notice. I feel so bad for poor Penelope because she was so closely bonded with Clarissa. 😿

New purchases: I really like the Paula’s Choice Skin Perfecting Liquid Exfoliant – I got the mini last week – so I picked up the full size. I also got 2 more Algenist eye cream points perks so now have what amounts to a full sized jar just with points (it’s a GREAT eye cream). Rediscoveries: Urban Decay Game of Thrones palette…honestly, Casterly Rock and House Targaryan make for the quickest, easiest and most flattering eye look for every day/work days for me.

Weekend plans: We’ve just been walloped with yet another snow storm (where I teach it was particularly brutal with icy snow pellets being blown sideways into our faces as we were all leaving school and trying to clear off our cars yet where I live, in the lower city, it is really snowy and a winter wonderland AGAIN – burying the snowdrops that had popped up in my garden – but it’s not blowing what feels like particles of broken glass) so that will affect our plans. We would like to take our daughter, son in law and grand-daughter out for brunch but might wait til during the week – it’s March Break here – but then we can’t take son in law with us as he’ll be working. I do want to get to the gym but it will depend on the roads tomorrow (it was really scary driving home today).

Typical morning routine: on days when I work, I’m up at 5:30, linger over coffee, breakfast and my computer til it’s time to get washed, do my makeup, get dressed and head out the door (I like to leave by about 7:30). On training days (Tuesdays and Thursdays), I’m up just as early but leave at 7 am to warm up and do some rehab on my knee before my training sessions start at 8 am (I used to have a much more civilized 9 am slot but lost it when I was off for 2 months and a bit after the knee surgery). Getting ready is a bit easier since I don’t wear much in the way of makeup to the gym (concealer and lippie are a must, as it skin care stuff) and I don’t have to dress as carefully. On days when I don’t work or train, I’m usually still up early but not quite SO early and those are usually the days when I try to remember to use makeup items that aren’t my “go to’s” or things I’ve sort of put aside/forgotten about.

Genevieve Avatar

So very, very nice to get some favourite skincare products on sale using your points. What a winner for you. OMG – you are getting so much snow and ice, I bet the roads are treacherous. It doesn’t sound like fun at all and I bet you are over it.
When I was working full time I used to get up at 5.45 and be out the door before 7 because the road I travelled on to get to my school was one long traffic jam if you left later. So glad I don’t have to do that now.
It’s good to read that your knee is healing so well that you can go back to work and do your training sessions. How is your little darling granddaughter going?

Genevieve Avatar

The little steaklets are just adorable and I can see that they are thriving under your loving care. They are so very, very cute and thank you for posting the videos of them so we can see how they going. It will be fun to see what they are up to in the coming weeks as they fully open their eyes and start to move around.

Recent Purchases: Still waiting for my CP order of Clay Nice lipsticks to come in. My order of The Ordinary products has arrived and I have started using their Chia Seed oil on my face – which is very nourishing.
Our local Priceline had a sale of Mother and baby products (plus a free bag if you spent $45) and that was easy to do. I have bought some items ready for our new arrival early in July.
EL’s Cinnabar perfume was on a massive sale there too – so I bought myself a bottle.

Rediscoveries: ABH Sultry and CP’s Foolish lipstick.

Weekend Plans: It’s a long weekend here in Melbourne Aus -and the weather is going to be lovely.
Friday – just got my hair done and did some browsing in a local shopping centre.
Saturday – some cleaning and grocery shopping. Lachlan is coming over to stay with us for the weekend, which is great. He is a really easy boy to look after and is always polite and thankful for where we take him.
Sunday – I am taking Lachlan out to either a new playcentre or park for him to play at.
Monday – not quite sure but will definitely be out in the sunshine.

Typical Morning Routine: I ususally get up at around 8 am or so, make myself a cup of tea and read my book for half an hour. Then I get dressed (with full makeup) and collect my morning coffee from our local cafe (which has the best coffee out). That’s when I read this blog.
After that, it’s usually some cleaning up – the kitchen benches, laundry etc. Quite often it’s around when Harry comes over so his mum can work or to give her a break. He absolutely adores my husband and wants him to play with him, whilst I prepare his vegies or a cooked lunch. We often take him to the park behind our house for a big play. We also have a large paved courtyard and backyard, full of toys for him to play with as well. That’s our normal morning.

OMG! T-Bone! They are all adorable sweet little cutlets!

Recent Purchases/Rediscoveries: nada

Weekend plans: We are dog sitting my daughter’s dog and it’s a full blown blizzard outside so it will be an interesting weekend.

What does your typical morning routine look like? My husband is not a morning person so he gets up around 8 and we start the day. He goes off to work and I get the dog fed and make myself a latte and sit on the couch (the dog wants to snuggle in the morning) go through the news and emails for about 45 minutes. I message back and forth with my oldest sister everyday to keep up us on what is gong on in our different cities. Then up and at it. Housework and then hopefully it’s nice enough to go for our hour long walk. Then back to whatever needs to be done around the house.

Genevieve Avatar

Yes you are going to have your hands full this weekend with your daughter’s doggie and not being able to go out for a walk due to the blizzard conditions you are facing. It’s a bit like having a toddler who wants to go to the park but can’t because of the weather.
We use to be morning people when we were working, but as both of us are retired now, we don’t get up early any more.

brendacr1 Avatar

It’s like the never ending winter here in Canada all across the board, it’s March where is Spring? It’s -16C here right now! We did manage to get out for a short walk when it warmed up to -9 yesterday but the wind was very cold. Just like children we have to do indoor games to burn their energy off lol!

Recent Purchases/Rediscoveries

I recently purchased a new pair of noise-cancelling headphones and rediscovered my love for immersive music experiences.
I also recently bought a book on mindfulness and rediscovered the power of meditation and introspection.

Weekend plans

This weekend, I plan on exploring a new hiking trail and soaking up some fresh air and nature.
I also plan on trying out a new recipe and hosting a small dinner party for some close friends.

What does your typical morning routine look like?

My typical morning routine starts with a cup of coffee and some light stretching to wake up my body and mind.
I then spend some time journaling and setting intentions for the day ahead before diving into my work tasks.

Sarah Avatar

Recent purchases: I bought the Colourpop In A Daze palette and it’s so cute. Also grabbed a few other things (two liquid eyeliners, two gel pencil liners, and two lipglosses) because they were on ~*~super clearance~*~. I haven’t gotten myself any beauty stuff in a while, so it was nice to kind of treat myself to that.
Weekend plans: Today I’ve got to go to the post office to send out some small business packages and then to the library. I love the library — I always say I’m just going to run in and then I’m there for an hour.
Morning routine: My first alarm goes off at 6:30. I lay in bed covered up to my nose until my second alarm at 6:45. Then I do the daily Spider Solitair challenge, put on slipper socks, and log into work by 7:00. I usually read the new posts on NotAlwaysRight.com (which I have been doing every day for over ten years now!) and then at about 8:00 I make hot chocolate and start on my daily work tasks. Usually in between all that stuff I say good morning to my dog and goodbye to my boyfriend as he leaves for work.

I love seeing how much the little puppies have grown, and now two have opened the eyes! They are truly the sweetest. I can’t decide if I have a favourite, if I lived closer I would stand in line to get me a steaklet!
Recent Purchases/Rediscoveries: Nothing purchased, and I don’t think I have made any rediscoveries.

Weekend plans: It’s cold outside, so no outdoor activities except for the usual dog walks, they are very enjoyable, we have a tiny amount of snow, Stubbs loves to eat a little here and there, he can’t have as much as he wants to, but have fun finding just the right bit to swallow.
I’m not sure I’ll do much indoors either. I am looking after the seeds I sow a few days ago. Nothing green showing up, yet.
I would love to watch the Oscars, but I’ve no idea where, and besides it’s on really late, we are GMT +1 here.
What does your typical morning routine look like? I often stay up way to late, and then sleep 8 or so hours, go up, get dressed, make coffee, drink most of it and take my meds, then I take Stubbs for a walk. Back home I finish the coffee while Stubbs has his breakfast, sometimes I do my makeup and then I head to the PC to read the news and my e-mails.
When I could work I was up at 5.30- 6.00, took a shower, got dressed, had breakfast and did my makeup, stressing to get out of the door at 7.
