We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! I used to love Estee Lauder Double Wear and also MAC Studio Fix powder foundation but now find them to settle in fine lines and look too aging on me. The same goes for Tarte Amazonian Clay foundation.
They are all great foundations with great coverage but as Father Time creeps up on me I find lighter more watery foundations look best….

Rimmel’s Match Perfection foundation in porcelain – it was the first foundation I boought that truly matched my skin tones – with the pink undertones. However, it just didn’t seem to last very long on my face before fading, so I started trying other brands and formulas.

It’s so interesting you say that. Ages ago I wore MAC N5 in some stick or liquid and then it wasn’t right. I attempted with Tarte to Chanel to get shade matched, nothing was natural. I think it’s the reason I wear only powder foundation or finishing powder, because it’s just far more forgiving shade wise.

I wore the original Revlon Colorstay for years, but I haven’t liked them since the reformulation (and there’s been at least one more reformulation since then). More recently, I loved Guerlain Lingerie de Peau Natural Perfection and I still have one bottle left, but my aging skin now prefers Lancome’s Care and Glow or Dior’s Forever Glow.

I’m actually going through my foundations at the moment to figure out which one or two I really love. I don’t have many, but I did purchase a few over the last year that had some hype. Right now, the NARS Light Reflecting Foundation is one I might declutter. I have larger pores on my nose and on the sides of my nose and it just emphasizes them so much plus the shade is too yellow. I feel the same way about Estee Lauder Double Wear. The shade match is excellent, but it emphasizes alllllll of my pores and sits so strangely on my nose. The only thing that is really doing it for me right now, foundation-wise is the Wet n Wild Dewy Photo Focus Foundation.

I used to wear Laura Mercier Silk Crème Oil-Free Foundation which is thick! I wore layers to cover up my acne. Now that my skin is clear, I wear Revision Tru Physical sunscreen, Chanel Les Beiges Water Fresh Foundation or Vitalumiere, MAC Face and Body or even just concealer to cover the redness around my nose. I struggled with acne for over 15 years and once I got my anxiety and stress under control and started talking care of myself, my acne went away. It’s hard to say if it was age but I’m kinda convinced stress played a big role, especially knowing how stress effects hormones.
