There are four palettes that immediately come to mind: UD Naked 3, ABH Modern Renaissance, Dior Backstage Cool, and Tartelette Amazonian Clay Matte. I also used to love my ColourPop palettes (I have at least 15 of them), but I never use them anymore.

Colourpop Yes Please palette. I went through two of them but other things have come out and the tones arent all what I’m that into anymore.

Modern Renaissance was my go to for a long time, but sadly hasn’t been used in years…Still love my
ND Biba palette but for some reason never seem to use it….also for some reason all my PML palettes that I just had to have at the time just sit there. I always seem to use the latest ones in my stash….occasionally I go back to them but usually the new ones seem to always win out….

I strongly favor singles over palettes, and tbh my most recent shadow palette didn’t wow me. Pat McGrath Fleur Fantasia. I love love loved the color story, but when I got it, the purple was a little bluer than I hoped and a bit sheer, and the berry color that to me was the total star of the color story is slightly chunky and sheer for the price point. Must be used with a primer, looks thick if I apply it wet to get full opacity. The other two colors perform perfectly, but were less important shades in my decision to purchase.

Because I was a literal makeup GLUTTON for around 10 years or so, there’s too many to list. But only 2 just creep me out to the point where they have sat unused at the back of my drawer for years: Kat Von D Metal Matte and Pastel Goth. Splendid, high quality, truly beautiful and really brought out my creative side, but due to everything I came to know about her, I’m just very turned off. And yet I don’t have the heart to throw them away, either.

I recently found an unopened tube of KVD Bow ‘n’ Arrow Studded Kiss lipstick in my drawer. (Before all the negative stuff happened, it was one of my favorite lipsticks and I had bought this backup.) So I set out to find a dupe in a different brand. After much searching, I couldn’t find a true dupe of it, so I just decided to use it. But somehow, I can’t bring myself to use the palette.

I was just thinking this morning that I was probably due for another harsh declutter of my eyeshadow palettes – the ones I really don’t use much anymore for a variety of reasons, but mainly because I have newer and shinier ones.
So my list includes: Guerlain’s Les Aquas, bareMinerals Soft and Smokey, Stila In the Garden….. the trouble is that there are shades within those palettes that I really still do love.
I have never bought a CP palette – and thankfully haven’t fallen down that rabbit hole (just too many mattes in them).

ABH Sultry. It was the first ABH palette I bought because I only wear cool tones but I now have multiple options with similar color stories and much better formulas. I haven’t used it in years but I can’t bring myself to get rid of it for some reason.

Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Instant Eye Palette (the long one). It was such a go-to and a joy to use when it first came out… but I never vibed with the shimmers. I LOVE her matte formula, but at this point I tend to reach for my Patrick Ta Major Dimension palette for mattes and shimmers/glitter toppers, so I will probably replace the CT one with PT Major Dimension II Rose palette around Mother’s Day.

Dior 5 couleurs couture eyeshadow palette in Sunset Cafe, Navy Design, and Green Design. Not to sound cynical but I don’t get excited about any palette because they are just soooo over saturated. Now, I just buy singles and find that I use them up consistently which feels good. I go through a lot of MAC brule, ricepaper, nylon, and omega. If I don’t like a color, I can just declutter it w/o getting rid of the whole palette.
