What would you gift to someone who loves fragrance?
I’d really consider a gift card to LuckyScent or Scent Split and encourage them to try samples as they carry a ton of brands that you don’t typically find at department stores/in person. Otherwise, a set of rollerballs or samples (like Sephora has a set every holiday season).
If your friend is like mine and has a kajillion little sample sprays that easily knocked over, I’ve bought ammo boxes that fix them perfectly!
That’s really clever!
I never buy fragrance for anyone unless I knew they wanted something specific, so I’d give a gift card or an entirely different present.
I’d give them some form of the scent I know they use and love, so maybe a body lotion or shower gel in the fragrance, if the parfum version was too rich for my budget.
Hi Mariella – I am missing you on Friday’s Check Ins – how is your knee going?
I bet your Christmas is going to be absolutely gorgeous with your little bubba around this year. How is she going?
I actually did buy some stuff this past week. I needed to replenish my Embryolisse face cream and also the La Roche Posay Limikar AP balm I’ve been using on my legs (the combination of the surgical wash, the surgery and an allergic reaction to the adhesive in the dressing seems to have wiped out my lipid barrier on that leg and the cold winter conditions and central heating don’t help). I lucked out and got a value set with a body wash and something else (can’t recall what, though) for the price of the balm alone.
Assuming we’re all well, Xmas should be lovely but I’m fighting off a dreadful cold and I’m supposed to see the surgeon on Wednesday but they might not want to see me because of the cough, sniffles, sneezing, etc., even though I’ve been testing every second day (as has hubs) and we’re negative for Covid. I still don’t want any of the kids catching this dreadful cold (I’m a bit worried it could turn into pneumonia for me, which often happens) – it’s just an awful time to be sick. Older son arrive home last night; we’re all masking around one another and also using our own towels (no hand towels in the bathrooms).
You are lucky (sort of) to have such lovely weather for the Holidays (though as a Canadian, I don’t know if it would feel like Christmas if we weren’t scraping ice off our windshields!)
That larger Sephora fragrance sampler box that includes a coupon for a FREE full-size bottle of whichever one that the person falls in love with! Many years ago, when my daughter worked in a Sephora, she told me all about that deal. There’s also a more budget friendly set that includes a coupon for a rollerball or mini of their favorite out of the bunch.
For someone (like me) who loves fragrances, I would either get them a bottle of one they like (unless it is expensive) or a gift card to the shop so that they can put it towards a fragrance that they love.
Since I love fragrances so much I ask family and friends what fragrance they are wearing. I file that info for later and I can pick up a similar fragrance or the same one they like to wear. Last Christmas I found a discontinued Gucci fragrance my oldest niece loves. She was so happy! Bought Spice Bomb extreme for my Step Dad, he liked it not sure if he’s been wearing though lol. It can get tricky because scents are so subjective. Hope nobody buys any more perfumes for me. I have too many!
If money isn’t an issue I would give a bottle of an oldie of Guerlain like Jicky or Chamade. Both beautiful and feminine. Less expensive I’d probably give a classic but never spoken about Estée Lauder like Aliage. Complicated yet simple perfumes that I just never get a whiff of anymore. Yes, I’d gift a classic from a good house.
Gift card, probably for an indie brand, no question. Fragrance is so personal, and dependent on body chemistry, that I couldn’t choose for another person.
I would pick something based on their preference. I just bought my sil Fox in the Flowerbed by Imaginary Authors for her birthday in Jan. A nonoffense floral. Pretty and with mass appeal that I got for 40% off.
