We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Loreal Voluminous Carbon Black. I’ve been using for it many years. Don’t get me wrong, I have tried more expensive brands. For a while I used Lancome Hypnose but I always return to Loreal. I’ve also tried Chanel, YSL, Clinique, Dior….and other assorted drugstore brands. IMO, Voluminous is the best.

In recent years? Heroine Make Long & Curl Super Waterproof mascara, or L’Oreal Lash Paradise WP mascara.
In my lifetime? Quite possibly Maybelline Full & Soft WP mascara! Or any of a number of either Maybelline or L’Oreal mascaras, as their formulas do not bother my very sensitive and reactive eye area.
Oh, and I always get Blackest Black or Very Black no matter the formula or brand!

Cover Girl Lash Blast Fusion in Black-Brown. I need volume rather than length, and black mascaras look too harsh on me. The Lash Blast mascaras in general have a lot of brown and black-brown options, and the Fusion seems to work the best out of all of them. I also use Lash Blast Volume in Brown, but I find it less voluminous than the Fusion.

For going out or something longer-wear, Benefit They’re Real, but most days now it’s Clinique naturally glossy. I like the natural, less made up lashes for my post-pandemic, work-from-home, living-in-loungewear looks haha.

I rotate between Too Faced Better than Sex, It Cosmetics Superhero, and an Essence Lash Princess with the green writing, depending on what I have on hand. And I always have a Clinique High Impact Mascara on hand thanks to Sephora’s 100 point perks.

This is going to sound absurd, but I don’t know what it is! My mom got me a no-name brand set for Christmas years and years and years ago and it was the best mascara ever. I used the entire thing, which I almost never do before it’s too old. I wish the name hadn’t worn off, but I kept the tube just in case I ever see something that resembles it. SIGH.

It was Lancôme monsieur big waterproof for years – probably repurchased a dozen times but for last few months Wet n wild Mega length waterproof mascara – so impressed! For non waterproof the caliray and tower28 ones are great and do not smudge on my watery eyes.

Since Givenchy discontinued the mascara with the little ball (I forget the name) then boom Benefit discontinued Bad Gal, the rich one with the fat wand, I’ve given up on mascara and now just grab what’s in my line of vision when I’m looking for other makeup, which the other day at Sephora was Better Than Sex. It’s ok, just ok. Mascara to me is a conundrum!

Al of the “most used” questions are so hard to answer for me. It seems I hardly ever have a real favourite that I keep repurchasing. It’s of course true when it comes to mascaras as well. I can probably list some ten I really like and a lot I don’t like, but a most used, no, I don’t know.
I like all the Benefit mascaras, but feel annoyed the Bad Gal is DCed, something I just learned. I like Better than Sex, a weird sentence I never thought I’d write. I like most mascaras from Lancome, Dior and
YSL. Clinique High Impact is also a fav.
I also try a lot of cheaper mascaras but sadly for my wallet I rarely like them as much as the high end ones.

Cover Girl Clump Crusher (not H2O proof). I love it. I have it on Amazon subscription and get a new tube every month. I also alternate in Vivienne Sabo Paris Cabaret mascara (think Clinique High Impact Mascara but better and less expensive).

Top: Clinique Naturally Glossy in Black Brown – discontinued this year, had been using it consistently since 1989.

New Top: Clinique High Impact Waterproof in Brown, thankfully not discontinued yet. Have been using that almost as faithfully since it launched what… around 2000-ish?

Other than that I had really gotten into MAC Haute N’ Naughty in Brown, but again… discontinued as of this year. The highs and lows of finally discovering another brown mascara that performs well for me only for it to be discontinued soon after I found it. And I understand it’s been around for a while, I’m just too late. =(
