What is your current base routine?
I’ve been using Charlotte Tilbury’s Beautiful Skin a lot for photos, which I like but don’t think I love, but feel like the lil’ tube will not last long so I am trying to finish it! I’ll set with Laura Mercier’s translucent loose setting powder.
My favourite foundation remains footed in GA luminous silk camp, but I also enjoy Valentino long wear. The valentino shade range is really sophisticated and have an even better match than GA for my skintone. I find the Valentino a bit too much coverage for regular day wear and therefore looks more makeupy.. but definitely a pick for evening or more formal settings. I usually mix in a bit of supergoop glowscreen with either foundation and I am happy with new acquisition of Laura Mercier Ultra Blur powder to lightly set t zone.
I use the lancome pro primer. I’ve found a couple good routines. I use the Fenty eaze drops foundation over the highlighting one. I don’t powder. On other days if I want a really fast dewy look. I use the jones road What the foundation. For drugstore I’m enjoying the L’Oréal serum foundation. My absolute HG is Dior airflash but it’s sadly dc’ed. I have one backup left
I’m a foundation junkie, but for the last month or so I’ve been loving the new Hourglass ambient soft glow foundation. It sets to a nice dry down that lasts all day on me. Doesn’t need to be set but I use a light dusting of Sisley loose powder which is not too matte. Of course I always have my GA luminous silk and power fabric available!
Because of a lack of getting out much or going to the pool much this past summer, I’m ALREADY solidly back to using my tube of Fenty Profilt’r Hydrating Foundation in 260 with just a little bit of MAC Pro Longwear Nourishing Waterproof foundation in NW35 (waaay less orange or oxidizing than NW30).
I’ve been using Estée Lauder Double Wear for many years. I’ve tried others here and there, but always go back to ELDW. My favorite setting powder is Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Powder, but lately I’ve been using Revlon Colorstay every day for work and saving my LM powder for evenings and weekends.
I’ve been having bad hormonal cystic acne breakouts the last six weeks, so I’ve been needing more coverage.
Milk Hydro Grip Primer. Eyeshadow primer over nose for better product adhesion. Natasha Denona Foundation X+ in 3N Neutral Fair lightly all over face and built up over areas with spots. Set with e. l. f. High Definition Powder in Sheer and L. A. Girl PRO Setting Spray.
My current base foundation is a long standing one… I rarely change up things through the year.
My primer is Paula’s Choice Shine Stopper, my foundation is MAC Prolongwear Waterproof, my concealer is MAC Prolongwear and my powder is MAC Studio Fix Powder Plus.
My current foundation yo-yos between Flower Beauty’s Skin Illusion foundation – for when I want my foundation to last a lot longer. It is a good medium foundation when used with a light hand, but runs to full coverage with an extra pump. On other days, I use the brand’s Serum foundation for a lighter base, in terms of coverage.
When I go out somewhere special, I use the Fenty Hydrating foundation in porcelain. It goes on really super pale – which freaked me out a bit when I first tried it – it was that pale. But after a few minutes it warms up into your skintone and has a soft semi matte finish.
I still do use the L’Oreal’s True Match foundation at times, but just having a break from it.
After moisturizer (rosehip oil) I use Supergoop Unseen Sunscreen and spot conceal with Rare Beauty concealer in the lightest shade or ELF moisturizing camo concealer in the lightest fair cool shade.
The last 2 years I’ve really enjoyed the Bobbi Brown Intense Serum Foundation. It’s in the same camp as Pat McGrath Sublime but has more coverage and, for my taste, a more polished finish. The Lisa Eldridge is nice but I dont love as much.
Foundation is one place I get curious but as a WOC who leans sandy but not warm it’s tricky finding products with tempting shade ranges. Prob my favorite product type and where I’m pickiest.
But wow are the high end foundations increases their prices so much.
I’ve gotten several beautiful foundations recently
Haus labs
Dior capture
New hourglass
Nars reflecting
Patrick ya crème
I really like Patrick ta crème and the dior together. But haus labs is my fav all around – hourglass for more coverage more of a matte look- Nars for light look day.
I did break my rule for no celebrity makeup.
