What color and finish of eyeshadow are you still looking for?
The shade Magellan’s Light that I worked on with Sydney Grace is gorgeous, but the original concept was a little different–we were able to get there in loose form but couldn’t get there in pressed form, so it was tweaked. That shade, lol! It wasn’t as warm-toned, slightly more translucent, and sparklier. Sometimes I wish we could have released the loose version!
I have lots of neutral matte eyeshadows, but I still haven’t found that one absolutely perfect shade that looks natural on me…though a couple have come close.
Now that I’m not in my 20’s anymore I gravitate away from too glittery, sparkly eyeshadows and look towards very metallic ones with a very smooth shine. Some of the MAC loose shadows are good as are some PML shades. Still looking for my GOAT perfect metallic taupe shade….no glitter, pure shine!
Agree here completely in terms of what kind of shine the shadow imparts. The shine has to have smooth consistency without running too whitish. Glitter and sparkles do not translate well on my texture eyelids, but a high quality metallic like shimmer can sure make a difference on an eye look.
A perfect metallic taupe shade sounds good to me too Penny!
Have you tried Dior’s Mono Couleur Couture~ #658 ~ Beige Mitzah Metallic?
I always love, love, love subtle duochromes/multichromes. Like, the color change kind of thing but in a more neutral base that I can wear on a regular basis. I honestly don’t make enough time on a daily basis to use the more colorful beauties, and I’m sure there’s a market for “work safe” duo/multichromes.
Semi-related, I want there to be more options to buy JUST a single eyeshadow like Sydney Grace. I know there are a lot of other pressed indies out there, some of which you’ve reviewed, but I like the reliability of SG’s site. There’s no “oh this shade is finally in stock so I need to order now!” pressure.
Sorry, I didn’t mean to reply to your comment! To make up for it…
Have you tried Snow Leopard by Fyrinnae Cosmetics? It’s not super metallic but it’s a beautiful satin taupe. A good bit of shimmer but not glittery at all.
Try RMS Beauty shadow in “Strobe” it’s liquid gel and easy to use. I pat it on and it’s got a great finish.
I want a Korean palette in green. Their shadows are softer/sheer, and the glitters are extremely sparkly. Unfortunately they stick to the same brown/pink/coral tones all the time. I just want one that is majority green.
Me too! Or any other color besides the white and brown shades they usually make. I like how the shadows twinkle and shine on the eyes but the Asian palettes color stories are always similar.
Could you recommend a K brand that does what you’re describing very well? Also, with you on wanting a green palette (and I’d add green-purplish multichromes and gold and silver purples) with textures similar to ColourPop’s Super Shocks (CP SS), but not as sheer; an in-between to CP SS and Terra Moon-Clionadh. AND, that isn’t $15 to $20 a pop!
I love this shadow for a one and done! I thought it would emphasize my lines but it doesn’t; and neither do the other shadows.
Literally ANYTHING that my damnable allergy tears won’t break down and look crumbly, creased, and then when patted back into place loses its original finish if anything glittery, metallic or shimmery. Like, honestly, since I’m pretty sure I’m not alone on this issue, I wish that I myself could create such a product for all the others who struggle with this problem.
Other than that; MAC, please bring back your Matte² and all your old purple eyeshadows that you DC’d!
I second that someone needs to invent this formula.
Been here and some days completely unable to lay down shadow/liner on my lower lash line. Until that day: Allergy eye drops somewhat helps (If I remember). Also, a silicone based eye cream as a base on lower lash line (Ole Henrickson wrinkle blur). Not perfect, but better.
The loose version sounds beautiful!
I’d just love to ever be able to get my hands on Clionadh multi-chromes before they sell out. I think they have everything I could want.
That loose shade sounds like the one I’ve been searching for, I wonder if it would work in a cream formula?
Satin neutrals, not orangey or pinky or red leaning, no olive
More satin shadows in deeper shades in general. Still love my mattes, but aging eyes finds satin finish softer.. less blending required while still imparting necessary structure.
Amen to more satin shades – so many brands just don’t do satins. You either get matte shades (yuck) or glittery bombs (double yuck) or the occasional good shimmer. But no satins.
Hear, hear ! I’m all in for more satin shadows.
Yes to satins!
I want them in neutrals from lightest to really dark. I mostly dislike matte shades for the mobile lid, I need a bit of sheen, and satins are perfect for every day use, and for nights out as well.
Yes. And their cousins, the satin lipsticks. I don’t understand how satins got so lost.
Wow is that gorgeous!!!!!
Love satins, no metallic for me.
It so happens that I am wearing Magellan’s Light today, along with Phoneix Awakes and Flying High! I am pretty sure that in my stash I have every single shade I love and in the finish I prefer – which is shimmery, satins or metallics.
Well come on, then!! Release a the loose version please 😭 ❤️
L’Oréal Amber Rose infallible shadow, except pressed and a bit pinker.
Urban Decay Maui Wowie without the glittery fallout.
A slightly sparkly metallic deep midnight blue that doesn’t ever mean purple.
I LOVE a loose eyeshadow or ‘pigment’, if it’s nice quality. I’m saying I definitely prefer a good quality loose eyeshadow over a good quality pressed, I know I’m definitely the minority. Same is true for highlighters too. I’d buy the loose version, for sure.
I still have a Turquoise Jewel palette from a Mac holiday collection (2004 I think?) and it has the most perfect warm pink shimmer called “Sunnyside up”. It’s my absolute hands down holy grail shadow (I have really small deep eyes that need brightening) but I haven’t found a perfect dupe.
I’ve been on a hunt for what seems like forever, for a dark brown shimmer or glitter that doesn’t pull purple, orange, brassy or yellowish on my skin. I have the single shadow Maple by Ulta and the MUF grey brown which are pretty close to perfect but I want/need to switch it up. I wish I could find more!! Any ideas?!
Jane cosmetics “Magical Mushroom” was THE perfect bronze color. I should have hoarded it in the 90’s. I’ve never found another with quite the same tones and it looked amazing on me.
I wish too!!!! That would be so awesome. Maybe….. someday?? Hugs.
