Dries Van Noten fragrances because of the bottles–really interesting and unique! Haven’t found a commit-worthy scent yet but still several to try from the line.

We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet. It’s on my Christmas wish list lol.
It’s got to be Paloma Picasso! I saw a bottle at Shopper’s for $19.99 – I couldn’t believe it. Of course, there was no tester and I recall trying it years ago and not liking it but for twenty bucks, what had I to lose (I could always put a bit in the water where I hand wash very delicate items, something I used to do a lot with GWP fragrances I didn’t want to wear). Well, it was absolute LOVE and I’ve scoured SDMs since then hoping to find another bargain bottle (and I did break down and buy a larger bottle with my SDM points and at 20% off on “Seniors’ Day”). I am so glad I took a chance with that one!
Floral chypre? Intense. Certainly a throwback these days. I love it for fall. Used to associate it with more โdressed upโ occasions, butโฆ I see PP as more of a classic chypre than an 80s, everything is big, scent.
Isn’t it wonderful when you take a chance on a perfume at an incredibly low price and it turns out to be a winner?
Oh yes, indeed (especially given the high cost of most fragrances these days and even in past). It’s also how I discovered Roma by Laura Biagiotti – took a chance on a $19.99 bottle and have since purchased 4 more (I’ve already finished one of them).
Kayali Lovefest Burning Cherry. Passed…for now.
I was trying around fragrances recently in a Sephora to discover something new, but as always I only liked the vanilla gourmand ones… I rarely like Nest fragrances, but Madagascar Vanilla and Golden Nectar caught my nose. I might buy the travel size of one of those, but I’m not in a hurry to get new fragrances.
Wales Perfume: Forest, Coast, and Country. All rather outdoorsy, but daffodil, of course. Thereโs a hefty size sampler trio, but alas, The house does not ship to the states. Or anywhere outside the UK.
Well, I suppose I’m rather stupid, because when you were reviewing all those fragrances a little while back, I FAILED to write down which ones I was going to order several samples of! Kicking myself over it, too.
Gucci Flora Gorgeous Jasmine. Mandarin, jasmine, sandalwood…three of my favorites, and a beautiful bottle, too. I bought it without hesitation.
Kayaliโs new cherry scent. I decided to order a sample plus several others from their website, which I look forward to getting soon.
Killian I donโt need a prince to be a princess. Bought the travel size to try it on a spur of the moment decision. Totally not my style at all, but I love it. Going to buy the full size before itโs gone again.
Same! It makes me smell like a sophisticated bag of marshmallows and I surprisingly love it. I’m not really into sweet gourmands but for some reason this one just works for me.
Valentino Voce Viva
The last fragrance I purchased was EL’s Pleasures, that was on sale at a ridiculously low price (well, for here in Aus!) at one of our budget beauty stores Priceline. I quite like the perfume, it is quite a strong one though and has a top note of florals, but base notes of Cedar and Sandlewood that I like.
I haven’t bought yet, but I’m seriously considering the discovery set of Sixteen92’s summer collection-six fragrances inspired by 2000s and 2010s alt-rock/emo songs. This year’s anniversary collection is five scents inspired by Wes Anderson movies-I’m not interested in that one.
Shalimar Philtre de Parfum in TK Maxx (the UK version of TJ Maxx), I love Shalimar and this is a newer version. It was under ยฃ40 so really great deal and I bought.
Loumarie Porthole Iโm passing on it today but itโs slotted for a future purchase ( just got a sample in the mail yesterday with my new Almarie.
I really need to get myself to a store so I can test new scents. I’m very interested in the Replicas from Maison Margiela. I feel very late to that party. ๐
