What was the last eyeshadow palette that caught your eye? Did you purchase or pass?

Isamaya’s Industrial eyeshadow palette, but it was more of a miss for me than it lived up to expectations (I purchased).

I would love to hear your thoughts on the Isamaya palette! I saw a vlogger, whose opinions usually align with what I like, rave about it, but I don’t need another $99 eye shadow palette so any reason to abstain would be helpful!

It was probably the Charlotte Tilbury The Rock Chick quad (does a quad count as a palette?) – Genevieve got me onto the slippery slope that is Charlotte Tilbury….entirely HER fault. And yes, I purchased and yes, it lived up entirely to my expectations. I was also wooed by the LORAC recent ones (Noir and Fairytale Forest) but the mere fact that I can’t see them in store anywhere or purchase in store has kept me from buying them even though I know I’d love probably love them. I know Genevieve has one of them (or maybe both) and really loves them so it’s kind of a foregone conclusion…

I think the Rock Chick quad and The Rebel/Green Lights quads are the best from CT. I was also wooed by Lorac’s Noir and Fairytale Forest and have both and love both too. I think Noir would suit you more and of course the PMG Subliminal Bronze palette – it is just so your shades too.

Oooo, yes! It looks like some actual thought went into that brand collab, unlike say Fenty X Ketchup…. The promo pics on that look like something out of a Cronenberg horror film

Pat McGrath Mothership X has certainly gotten my interest and attention! However, I’m holding off on getting until it’s on a major sale due to the fact that I’m not 100% happy with the choice of matte shades within it. Would rather have seen a lighter warm taupe, a shade like her own Velouria but deeper and perhaps a dusky deep teal or even warm navy.

I have been eyeing that palette and I am trying to use some restraint here! So I pulled out my divine rose VII – the astral solstice and extreme mahogany I am actually rediscovering it.. I wasn’t super crazy about it when I first purchased.. but really enjoying it for now.

Have you ever bought a navy jacket or top to wear with a pair of navy pants or a skirt, but didn’t bring that other item to the store to see if they matched up in the undertone and then have one piece look too “cool” with a bluer or even purple cast, but the other has a “warm” cast to it, looking like it’s leaning a little greenish, Nicole? I know that I have! Sometimes, even between two black pieces of clothing, too. All colors have a cooler shade vs a warmer variation. This even holds true for the non colors like black, gray and white!

Looking at this on their site, apparently it’s a Steven Klein collab. His 4 pan … ?.despair…is the only blush palette I left out when packing. Such a simple and cover-the-basics product. The ‘reusable hardware’ (jewelry) in this collection is a bit tangential to me. Must be my age. I can see Rachel R wearing it. Some of the steampunk m/u offerings seem more industrial than this does. I’d love to see how this stacks up against ND.

As soon as it’s available, Natasha Denona’s My Dream Palette. I don’t think a release date has even been announced but it looks lovely and I don’t hesitate to purchase ND products.

The one you mentioned Christina. I don’t normally look at pallettes but Michelle Wang made such a rave about this one that I took a closer look and realized it was not up my street…I passed.

I saw Alicia (think that’s her name) talking about it on you tube. The usual too many shimmers. Didn’t look that great to me.

The last palette was that odenseye one with the square pans that I liked and bought.

The last palette I purchased was PMG’s Subliminal Platinum Bronze, which I saw by happenstance at our Sephora, on a stand all by its lonely self. It was the last palette left and I actually hummed about it. But I knew I would kick myself if I didn’t pick it up – it’s the only Pat offering that I have really liked.
And yes, it has lived up to my expectations and the reviews. The only thing that annoys me about the palette is the lack of names on the palette itself – something that you’ve commented on Christine too.

I feel the opposite about Platinum Bronze. I bought it 3 yrs ago and have rarely used it. I didn’t find it to be nearly as great as the reviews or as compared to the Sydney Grace eyeshadows I have in similar shades. If I ever use the shimmers in the Platinum bronze palette I find the matte shade so inferior, that I always use my Sydney Grace mattes in my Z-palette.

I am really trying not to buy the Pat McGrath Moonlit seduction… I have been using different combinations on my other PMG palettes.. I will probably justify getting it sooner or later because I have hit pan on so many shades/palettes I own..

Dragon Fruit Palette by Clionadh. All shiny-shiny, couldn’t resist. I use it every day every time I go out: work (I am a teacher), friends or grocery shopping, just the same. It’s so much fun… Why should we use it just for going out in the evening? Life is short, let’s shine through it!

I thought her promo photos were quite good, but the actual product roll out looked………well, let’s just say that the initial feel held all the promise. The prices and packaging dissuaded me from investigating the brand further. I see another “pay for the concept and the idea, but the physical items you receive will be somewhat lesser.”

I don’t know how many palettes I’ve looked at and thought about getting. Right now I can’t even recall the last palette I bought. Oh, yes, it was the Ciate Arctic, I’ve only used it once, it swatched nicely and it was on sale.
I have looked at palettes after getting it, I do love eyeshadow palettes but try not to buy any new ones.
