Best Products of the Week | Vol. 361

Hope your weekend is starting off on the right note! Every Saturday, I like to share the top 10 products from the last week of reviews. It’s a nice way to highlight what reviews have been published recently. Similarly, I love reading–and I know others enjoy sharing!–their own “week in review” when it comes to what makeup/beauty products they may have used and/or enjoyed.

What was your week in review like? Copy and paste the lil’ survey below and share your answers in the comments 🙂

  • Your skin tone/coloring:
  • What was your favorite makeup look you wore this past week?:
  • What was the hero product of the week for you?:
  • Any products you want to use next week?:

Comments that do not adhere to our comment policy may be removed. Discussion and debate are highly encouraged but we expect community members to participate respectfully. Please keep discussion on-topic, and if you have general feedback, a product review request, an off-topic question, or need technical support, please contact us!

Please help us streamline the comments' section and be more efficient: double-check the post above for more basic information like pricing, availability, and so on to make sure your question wasn't answered already. Comments alerting us to typos or small errors in the post are appreciated (!) but will typically be removed after errors are fixed (unless a response is needed).

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Thank you for understanding!

What was your favorite makeup look you wore this past week?: I did a pretty pinky mauvey look using Sigma Enchanted!

What was the hero product of the week for you?: NYX Bare With Me Concealer Serum. It covers but doesn’t crease or look dry under my eyes. Bareminerals Mineral Veil is the best for my oily skin. Takes away the shine without being drying

Any products you want to use next week?:
Now that’s it’s fall, I want to pull out my cooler grungy palettes/quads like Adept Amunet or Pat McGrath Interstellar Icon quad

What was your favorite makeup look you wore this past week?: basic face stuff and on my eyes, the Smashbox Showmance trio which is just perfect for this time of year. I wore it pretty “traditionally” – lightest shade on inner corner, bronze-y shade on most of mobile lid and the deep green on outer corner and in crease; MUFE black liner smudged into upper lashes and Sephora Cappuccino under lower lashes
What was the hero product of the week for you?: That Smashbox Showmance trio – it works so well for me and it’s quick and easy to get a look I’m happy and comfortable with
Any products you want to use next week?: Anastasia eyeshadow primer (I just treated myself to a tube; it’s such a divisive product but I think I’m going to love it).

What was your favorite makeup look you wore this past week?
• EYES: I primed with NYX Proof It Waterproof Eyeshadow Primer. Then: Clinique Nude Rose as transition, Give Me Glow Grunge Lavender on lid, Give Me Glow Cruel Intentions on outer V, Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Pencil in Perversion dotted into the base of my upper lashes, Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Pencil in Mushroom on lower lash line, Cover Girl Clump Crusher Waterproof Mascara, Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara, and Haus Labs The Edge Precision Brow Pencil in Granite Grey.
• FACE: Estée Lauder Double Wear Makeup in Sand, Lancome Effacernes Waterproof Concealer in Light Buff, Revlon Colorstay Pressed Powder in Light, and MAC Mineralize Blush in Sweet Enough.
• LIPS: Huda lipstick in Girl’s Trip

What was the hero product of the week for you?
Haus Labs Optic Intensity Eco Eyeliner in Deep Bronze Shimmer did not budge all day long. Also Haus Labs The Edge Precision Brow Pencil in Granite Grey. It’s so hard to find true gray brow pencils, and this one is so easy to use and lasts all day.

Any products you want to use next week?
I use matte eyeshadow almost exclusively, so I want to go outside of my comfort zone and use some of my shimmery MAC eyeshadows—possibly Woodwinked, Satin Taupe, Sumptuous Olive, and/or Twinks.

Seraphine, I have decided that I should live next door to you – that way I can give you all the matte shades that I don’t use (and have never used) and you can give me all the shimmer shades that you don’t like!
I think Woodwinked, Satin Taupe, Sumptuous Olive and Twinks are just the most perfect kind of shimmer shades to use – and some of them are not so much shimmer but more of a satin finish.

What was your favorite makeup look you wore this past week?: Oh boy! Well, it took me several days before I even let myself use it, but I will say that the look I got out of ABH Rose Metals palette was so beautiful and very autumn appropriate.
Eyes: Sunrose transition, Noble crease, outer V and outer lower lashline, Heavenly inner corner and tearducts, Haze mid-lid and inner half of lower lashline, Nocturne outer lid and lower outer lashline blended into Noble, then because Sunrose just looked too warm to look okay with everything else, I dusted a little bit of Ashes over it where it met with Noble. Perfect blend. Followed up using my usual black tightliner, winged liner, and waterproof mascara, plus a little bit of UD 24/7 Glide On Eye Pencil in Stash.
Cheeks: Huda Beauty Glowing Bronzer in Tan Light, PML Desert Orchid blush, ABH Amrezy highlighter.
Lips:Nyx SLP in Earthtone and MAC Paramount lipstick.
Overall, a simply gorgeous fall look.

What was the hero product of the week for you?: All the waterproof EVERYTHING! Especially on I believe Monday when I had to take a bus to Walmart for household/personal care/pet products and some food, and the wind was insane out there! Skies looked like a tornado was going to hit because the sky was so very dark and had that odd greenish hue. As a result, my eyes began to water like rivers! Only my eyeshadow look suffered, though, because my foundation, eyeliners and mascara are all very waterproof, thank goodness.

Any products you want to use next week? Before it begins to get too wintery (for here, anyway), I’d like to create at least a few more looks using my Nomad Cosmetics Bosque Nuboso de Monteverde palette and some of my coordinating lipsticks and coral and orange blushes.

Your skin tone/colouring: Porcelain, with pink undertones

What was your favorite makeup look you wore this past week?: When I was meeting up with my former colleagues last Friday, I was really happy with my makeup. I used Heart Dog over the top half of my eyelid, with Magellan’s Light on the lower half and Phoenix Awakens next to the lashline. I wore my Fenty’s foundation in porcelain, which initially looks too pale for me, but then warms up to your skintone. The Shiseido Inner Glow blush in coral pink and Fenty’s Freckle Fiesta lipstick.

What was the hero product of the week for you?: On the Horizons Light palette and Lorac’s Fairytale Forest.
Any products you want to use next week?: Lorac’s Noir palette.
