Benefit Pinky Swear Longwear Powder Eyeshadow Review, Photos, Swatches

Benefit Pinky Swear Longwear Powder Eyeshadow ($20.00 for 0.11 oz.) is described as a “soft matte pink.” It’s a pale pink with subtle cool undertones and a matte finish. Urban Decay Heartless is shimmery. NARS Bouthan #1 is very similar. bareMinerals Giddy is warmer. Inglot #319 is cooler-toned, brighter.

It had beautiful pigmentation when I swatched it initially, and on the lid, it was still good, but due to the very matte, slightly powdery texture, it tended to stick and absorb (like a blotting powder might). For that reason, the texture does better over a primer. Without a primer, it tends to look noticeably faded (and slightly darkened) after six hours.  I didn’t experience any creasing, even after eight hours of wear, though.

For reference, it also appears in Benefit’s Easiest Nudes Ever Palette–I make a point to mention that, because the palette itself is $30 but contains three other eyeshadows along with two Creaseless Cream Eyeshadows; more or less, unless you really hate the other products, it’s hard to justify $20 for one eyeshadow when you could be paying $30 and receiving six different products.

Your review on kiss me,I’m tipsy was really good.. I bought and love it… Seems like the quality on the following shades are decreasing.. Would you be reviewing thanks a latte prolong wear eyeshadow??

Alhtough it is a boring shade, I do think that it has some use; I have been doing a lot of these pale shades and just doing mascara. I think for lazy days these are good 🙂 I think there are just too many other choices that do not have this price point or this grade.

Hey Christine! Love this shade, disappointed that it isn’t as long-lasting as I thought it would be…
I’m thinking of buying one of Benefit’s blushes…which one do you think would look good on NW30 skin??

Hi, Christine –

Thanks for this review. How would you say this compares to the brow highlighter powder in the benefit brows-a-go-go kit? I think the highlighter powder is slightly more shimmery, but I’m wondering if they’re close otherwise. I LOVE the brow highlighter powder–so much so that I completely used up the entire pan in my brows-a-go-go kit. Unfortunately, benefit does not produce this shade as a standalone shadow, and it has been my (unsuccessful) mission to find a dupe of it. Even if Pinky Swear isn’t a dupe, do you have any other ideas of what might come close? Thanks, Christine! I always love your honest, thorough reviews and excellent photos.
