Recent Purchases/Rediscoveries: Natasha Denona Bronze Mini Palette, Revlon Liquid Lipsticks
Weekend plans: Stay cool, get some sleep. Fostering the two puppies has been quite the experience, lol!
What would you like to accomplish before the end of the year? I pose this question because I’m contemplating my own goals and trying to come up with some new things to focus on.
P.S. — Want to chat with readers on the regular? Check out Temptalia’s Discord where you can chat about beauty, makeup, and more! 🙂
P.P.S. — Check our hubby’s site for video gaming guides — good if you (or someone you know or your kids!) is into gaming, including crosswords and Wordle. Plus, I worked with hubby to develop our own games! You can check out the games we have at Awordy, which include Concludle (trivia) and Adoptle (figure out the name of an adoptable pet in six guesses), and Mislettered (figure out the quote by guessing letters).

Loving the puppy content!!
Recent Purchases/Rediscoveries: Recently going back to using Sunday Riley retinoid cream on… Sundays 🙂 I’ve also been whipping out a lot of sunscreen lately! Love the Supergoop! Unseen sunscreen.
Weekend plans: Help my friend who is visiting from Japan with her pop-up shop in Pittsburgh. I look forward to finishing Sotomayor’s autobiography on audiobook on the drive out West! It was interesting to hear about how she had childhood diabetes when there were few resources out there for it, and she had to administer insulin shots to herself from grade 4 onwards.
What would you like to accomplish before the end of the year?
– Professionally, I would like to work more with my friend to develop a volunteer-oriented Just Transition climate collective that provides resources to lawyers. I want to get involved networking in at least one industry trade organization.
– Among my creative goals, I want to complete a simple animation that is 10-90 seconds, to write and self-publish a short story, and to complete a 20×30″ (large) watercolor.
– On a personal level, I’d love to buy a house. I’ve been learning a lot about renovation and home buying, and I really want to buy a fixer-upper and do much of the reno work.
That is an impressive list of goals to achieve by the end of the year Kira and I wish you well. You are obviously a very creative person with your writing and artistic endeavours.
Buying a house that needs renovation would really suit you, I think, as you could put your own touches on the design and layout.
Thank you so much Genevieve!
OMG, those three doggos are the most adorable things!
Recent purchases: UD 24/7 Eye Pencil in Double Life; Smashbox Primerizer (small size to try it out); Milani Color Fetish Matte Lipstick in the shades Tease, Pleasure, and Secret; Maybelline Fit Me Loose Powder; L’Oreal Infallible 24 Hour Fresh Wear Makeup; NYX Micro Brow in Grey; and Narciso Rodriguez for Her Eau de Toilette.
Rediscoveries: LORAC Pro Eye Shadow Palette 4. I bought this palette when it was released, used it a few times, and put it away…but now I am absolutely loving these shades and have worn them all week!
Weekend plans: My husband and I are hosting a memorial gathering for my lovely mother-in-law, who passed away suddenly a few days ago.
What would you like to accomplish before the end of the year? Lose the final 9 pounds to reach my goal weight (already lost 26). Clean out my junk closet (I say this every year; it never happens). Pay off my bills (this one is doable).
Seraphine, I am so sorry for your family’s very sudden loss. These things are never easy.
On the other hand, congratulations on your weight loss journey! Wish I could lose at least 20 lbs., although I know I really need to drop around 35-40. But, you’re doing so well with it!
Thank you, Nancy T. It has been a rough week. As far as weight loss goes, I did it with Weight Watchers. Their app has made dieting so easy for me. Actually, it’s not even dieting; it’s just learning how to make better choices, but also allowing me to splurge on Haagen Dasz and pizza once a week!
My condolences Seraphine.
Thank you, brendacr1.
Seraphine, I am really sorry to read about your mother in law’s passing and it must have been quite a shock to you both. Sending hugs and condolences your way.
Thanks, Genevieve. Yes, it was totally unexpected. So very sad. She was a great woman.
So sorry for your loss.
Thank you, Lily Kelley.
My condolences on the passing of your MIL. 🖤
Thank you, Rachel R.
Such a PATIENT big foster brother! All 3 are just so adorable 🥰
Purchases/rediscoveries: My Lethal Cosmetics order from Camera Ready Cosmetics arrived yesterday, and I’m wearing Singularity on my whole inner half of my mobile lid, Exosphere on the outer, and Ornamental blush on my cheeks. I’m so thrilled with the quality and beauty of all of these! Found out; Lethal blushes do NOT play! Next time I know to go in with a lighter hand. It’s actually the exact same shade of a very, very long time ago CoverGirl liquid blush that I went through several bottles of during the late 70’s, “Berry” something?
Weekend plans: Listen to part of our annual Convention of JW’s on Zoom tomorrow morning. Go for a dip in the pool afterwards. I really need to unwind after a week that was soul crushing and heartbreaking. Someone who I thought was a BFF turned out to be just the opposite. But, I guess that’s just the brakes. Or, is it breaks?
What would you like to accomplish before the end of the year? A FIRM game plan for moving out of this scorching desert heat! Either to Ohio to be with my daughter and her little one, or perhaps where I’ve been wanting to go back to for so long: New Jersey. All I do know is that my body cannot handle this kind of weather day after day. The nighttime temps don’t go down into the upper 70’s/low 80’s the way they did when we first came here anymore, either.
Yes, you do have a couple of future living options – NJ or Ohio. Being close to your daughter and grandson would be such a plus and you could make a real difference to their lives by simply being there for them.
I just don’t know how you can stand the heat Nancy and it seems as if it is getting hotter and hotter every year.
Sorry about the news re your best friend….it’s just awful when trust is broken.
I don’t blame you for wanting to leave AZ, i live in Las Vegas which is also very hot and hated it. Can’t wait to leave this town.
I’m so sorry you found out your friend was false. Call me this evening, or DM me any time if you need to talk. Love ya!
Recent Purchases: It seems that I managed to finish all my body cream, so I placed a quick Paula’s Choice order. I definitely had to try the new 5% Niacinamide Body Serum, but I also got some old favorites (Retinol Skin-Smoothing Body Treatment).
For the face I got the 25% AHA + 2% BHA Exfoliant Peel and some minis with 2+1 free (CLEAR Extra Strength Anti-Redness Exfoliating Solution With 2% Salicylic Acid, The UnScrub, Weightless Body Treatment 2% BHA).
I got for free the Hyaluronic Acid Booster and the Hyaluronic Acid + Peptide Lip Booster.
Weekend plans: Rest after a stressful week, take the time to meditate about a big decision I have to make soon (maybe some lists to help with the decision), take care of the regular stuff, nothing major in sight.
What would you like to accomplish before the end of the year? Manage to finish some big milestones at work. I don’t have personal goals… I’m quite satisfied at this point with my lifestyle… maybe a vacation is something I’ll need to accomplish. 😆
Sometimes when I have to make a big decision I do a plus, minu and interesting chart to help clarify my thinking: The pluses are for one choice, the minuses are mitigating factors and the interesting is the positive and negative concerns.
I hope you get some much needed rest this weekend Ana Maria.
Aww that’s so cute! Seeing Winston playing with the puppies! me and daughter got our supplies to foster some kitties soon!
Recent Purchases /Rediscoveries: The smokey/grungy Isamaya Industrial eye shadow palette love it! Menagerie’s Sugar High platte and glowy blush I wore yesterday and loved my look!
Weekend Plans: I need to order new kitchen appliances. I was on the waiting list for a GE refrigerator and they waited a year after taking payment to say it’s been discontinued. My oven/microwave combo also need to be replaced. Was shocked to see that kitchen Appliances are on long backorder. Get some good carry out.
What would you like to accomplish before the end of year? I really want to fix my master bedroom up better. Get rid of some beauty stuff and reorganize my closet and dressers. Not spend so much money on perfumes and makeup!!!I have too much already.
Denise, a month or so ago that was me – ordering new kitchen appliances. I found it quite helpful to walk into a few appliance shops to get some ideas about what is available now, the prices and so on. My husband measured up the spaces for the oven, cooktop and overhead fan.
I ended up getting the Electrolux double oven – which has been MAGNIFICENT – because I can cook one thing in the top oven and on another temp. cook something else in the bottom oven. It is so easy to use too – you don’t need an engineering degree to work it.
We ended up with a DeLonghi cooktop – with the ceramic glass top. It is a bit of a bugger to clean though – I use glass cleaner and paper towels. It is gas, but works really well.
Best wishes for your appliance hunting.
That little video is just the cutest! Poor Winnie looks exhausted, but the puppies want him to come out and play! As a parent – I can relate to that! The puppies are gorgeous.
Recent Purchases: Nada – although I have a feeling I will probably end up ordering that Merida lipstick from CP!
Rediscoveries: On the Horizons Light palette – such a stunner.
Weekend Plans: On Friday I caught up with my two best girlfriends for lunch and a long chat. It was lovely to see them and share all of our family news.
Nearly all of our family have had colds this week (not covid) and will spend the weekend recovering. A bit of housework to do, but I am not planning on much. I have been watching the Tour De France into the small hours of the morning, so I am a tad weary.
Goals to accomplish before the end of the year: Another massive clean out of our house – there are quite a few things I want to get rid of and will try to get my husband to go through his wardrobe as well.
Finish off our kitchen – get some new cupboard doors and bench top.
These are the two main things for this year.
Hope you and your family feel better, Genevieve!
There’s nothing quite as satisfying as getting rid of the clutter in your home. I love decluttering and organizing.
Thank you Celesta. We are all getting better now.
I’m just waiting for the weather to improve to organise a ‘hard rubbish’ collection. Each household in our suburb has 2 hard rubbish collections per year, where you can put out all your rubbish and the council collects it for free. It is a godsend.
Hope all your family feels better soon! Those sound like great winter projects to work on.
Recent Purchases/Rediscoveries: LYS Beauty: Triple Fox foundation & concealer, cream blush in Confident, matte bronzer in Harmony; ColourPop: Missin’ U blotted lip, 12-pan empty palette, Hustle Hard, Pretty Fresh face primer, Aster SSS, Reveal AHA serum
Weekend plans: Run errands, family time
What would you like to accomplish before the end of the year? Err… maybe get some health stuff figured out.
How are all your little ones going Joyce? I hope you get to have a restful weekend.
Fun puppy play time, I just had to chase mine down the road he escaped out the front door.
Recent Purchases/Rediscoveries: nothing
Weekend plans: We leave on our one week trip to Vancouver tomorrow morning, first road trip with a dog, a trial run to see how it goes.
What would you like to accomplish before the end of the year? Enroll in dog training classes because I have no idea how to train a dog and it’s not going as fast as I would like. Continue with my house clean out. I would like to get back to my painting, getting a dog has taken up quite a bit of my time so it has been put on the back burner. On the other side I’ve lost more than 10 lbs running around after the dog so I am liking that part.
Recent Purchases/Rediscoveries: Face Glaze Beauty Juicy and it’s AMAZING!!!
Weekend plans: Burgers on the grill with family!
What would you like to accomplish before the end of the year? Getting surgery and recovering!

WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO ACCOMPLISH BEFORE THE END OF THE YEAR?
Reorganize my house

Weekend plans: working, staying cool. Attempting a kitten flick on hooded eyes.
What would you like to accomplish before the end of the year? Being more kind, listening, learning.

Rediscoveries: I’ve just wanted to use my ND Triochrome all week.
Weekend plans: nothing in particular! My husband and I are taking some days off this week to spend some time with our son doing fun things for his birthday and before he starts kindergarten.
What would you like to accomplish before the end of the year? My husband and I are trying to save for a new car. Thankfully, with school starting we no longer have to pay the large sum for daycare and will be able to save more easily.
New purchases: Nothing, though there are things I need to get/replenish (my Clarins eye makeup remover, for starters); rediscoveries: Sephora Fall Leaves eyeshadow – it’s so lovely and a quick, easy look.
Weekend plans: I’ve already been to the gym today and plan to go tomorrow (there’s a competition on and I’m determined to win it); try out some new smoothie “recipes” and stay indoors listening to audio books and keeping cool.
What would I like to accomplish by the end of the year: deal with the decluttering we have to do now that we’ve sort of cleared up the basement (necessitated by having a new furnace and a/c installed). Once we get rid of so much accumulated “stuff”, I’d like to do over one of our spare rooms to be a room for our new grand child for when she’s old enough to sleep over. But the “heavy lifting” is getting rid of so much stuff (my husband seems to think it’s all got some value and so wants to sell at low price or give away rather than having it go into landfill but I just want it OUT; we’ve also got bins and bins of stuff to sort through – ugh!)
Winnie and the puppies! So cute!
Recent Purchases/Rediscoveries: No purchases, rediscoveries Maybelline Vivid Rose and Shocking Coral lipsticks. I had forgot how much I liked them.
Weekend plans: Gardening
What would you like to accomplish before the end of the year? Get my garden looking a bit more well kept and adding some plants.
Also get better at not buying candy and chocolate every time I go grocery shopping. I’m thinking the inflation may help me with this.

Weekend plans: Worked all day Friday, weekly grocery run Saturday, stayed inside away from thunderstorms Sunday.
What would you like to accomplish before the end of the year? I don’t have any end-of-year goals yet, but maybe I’ll develop some later.
