Urban Decay Vice Lip Bond Glossy Liquid Lipstick Swatches
Urban Decay Vice Lip Bond Glossy Liquid Lipstick is a 12-shade range of liquid lipstick with a glossy finish. The formula is supposed to wear 16-hours and be comfortable to wear while delivering one-swipe pigmentation. I received three shades as press samples (No Restraint, Text ‘Em, and Unbreakable), but I purchased the remaining nine as I was quite impressed by the formula!
But it is also quite similar to Maybelline’s Super Stay Vinyl Ink Liquid Lipcolor, which debuted a few months ago, even down to the directions to shake prior to application. The ingredient lists are very similar, so I’ll be reviewing those as well. The biggest difference between the two formulas is that Maybelline has a fruity scent and Urban Decay has none, followed by Urban Decay having a bit of a creamier look on and Maybelline having a glossier, slightly more translucent look (not sheer per se).
They look lovely and I love even more, that they do not have any scent. I’ll be trying one to see what they are like.
Those do look very impressive. Hopefully this is a much needed win for UD.
Love to hear that Urban Decay has a great new formula! I am not seeing any shades I want though.
Nice to see UD getting something right again! I’m loving the lack of fragrance and fuller coverage on these. My picks? No Restraints, PDA and Text ‘Em. Also, possibly Raw Footage if it reviews well.
These look interesting.
Btw, it’s nice to see others noticing how the cosmetic industry functions. Similar (or exactly the same) products coming out in various prices across many different brands within days of each other? Some with nominal tweaking to differentiate…almost as if there are five factories in the world that make everything and the corps who slap their label on determine the price.
Or maybe there are a lot of moles (industrial spies) in the cos. Hopefully not.
In this case Maybelline and Urban Decay are sister brands, both owned by L’Oreal, so presumably this is a case of parent company L’Oreal using similar or identical formulas across its various brands and their various price points.
Honestly surprised these seem to perform as promised. They look great, but the promo images were unfortunate.
Isn’t it a saying that ‘Imitation is the most sincerest form of flattery?’ re Maybelline and UD.
I mentioned this in reply to Z upthread, but Maybelline and UD are sister brands, owned by the same parent company: L’Oreal. This liquid lipstick situation is basically the equivalent of sisters dressing alike!
These look impressive, I’ll be checking them out in store for sure.
These look really great! The only drawback for me is the price but I will probably get at least one.
