What kind of sale makes you interested enough to check it out?

I think 20% is becoming the minimum for me to give it a look-see, but 25% starts making me more inclined to buy if I wasn’t interested before.

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! I totally agree Christine…..with so many brands offering 20% off fairly regularly it’s becoming the norm….
It seems like every week or so some big brand is having an offering. 25% will make my ears perk up and 30% or more I’m really tempted. With the skyrocketing prices at top brands it’s hard not to look for deals. It’s not hard to spend several hundred dollars at a pop for makeup or skin care items. I tend to stock up on things I’m not quite out of at these times or maybe try something I wouldn’t ordinarily be tempted by.

20-25% is the norm nowadays. Most brands have this type of sale every 2-3 months.
But most enticing is when they also have gift with purchase and it’s either a set of 2-4 travel size products or 1 full size product.

Here in Aus there are many skincare sales with up to 40% off, which interests me if it is the brands I found that works well on my skin. So I do check those out and will sometimes (fairly often actually) ‘stock’ up on a few favourites – cleansers, moisturisers, serums etc.
As for cosmetics – the DS brands are also often on sale – a bit of competition between our two major budget beauty places Priceline and Chemist Warehouse. So a 40% sale would get me interested in stocking up on my foundations, mascaras and sometimes lipsticks.
As for Mecca and Sephora – our two major luxury (read expensive) cosmetics stores – they rarely have sales on their major brand cosmetics, so a 20% to 30% off would have me looking.
I am also interested when PMG now has a sale, seeing as I love her eyeshadow palettes.

If it’s for something I *need*, then 25% minimally. If it’s for something frivolous to add to my already stupid big collection, I’ll need to see at least 40%. But I’m not the average consumer, I did all my wild purchasing in the before times and now know exactly what I do (and don’t) need and what to spend (or not) my money on. The temptations are becoming fewer and farther in-between despite all these crazy sales running near constantly from everyone.
