Please help us streamline the comments' section and be more efficient: double-check the post above for more basic information like pricing, availability, and so on to make sure your question wasn't answered already. We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Thank you for understanding!

Every week or so, I rarely use a brush twice.
I take care of my brushes, and even with such regular wash I have 6-8 years old brushes still performing and looking great.
Doing it so often also makes it manageable, it only takes 5-10 minutes to get things done.

Several times per week. I try to clean the powder off and spray some Cinema Secrets sanitizing spray on them every night if I don’t wash them. I’ve had some styes before that I attribute to makeup and outs never fun.

I wash mine every time I use them. I used to get hormonal acne, and just got into the habit quite some time ago. Some of my brushes are from the ’80’s, when Redken was making incredible brushes. I still have mine, and they are as nice now as they were when I bought them. My Trucco by Sebastian brushes are still quite amazing too. I wish the old Redken makeup and Trucco makeup were still available. They were ahead of their time, and they would be so perfect for what is trendy now. Boy, I am really exposing my age here!

First time I’ve seen Trucco and Redden brushes (or even products) mentioned! I’m sure they have been before and I likely missed it. I wanted to add I miss Trucco products in general.

Sponges after every use, foundation brush gets a spray cleaning after use and I wash it after three uses, the same goes for any brush used with creamy formulas.
Powder and blush brushes when needed, I have quite a few so I’m actually not sure, it can be after one use or after a lot more.
Eyeshadow brushes when needed but at least every week, if it’s a brush I rarely use it can be after a much longer time, there I go by the way the brush looks.

I cannot tell a lie. I never wash my makeup brushes. Some germophobes are going to be appalled by that admission but I have brushes that I have had for over 30 years and they have never been washed. I have responded to this question several times over the years on the blog and my answer is always the same. I just don’t have any problems with infections, acne, etcetera. I just either use a color change product or, and most often, a piece of tissue to swirl the brush on until it doesn’t give off any more color and then I move on to the next shade.

Used to be every week for sure. A friend told me about using micellar water and it really works well. I rub a cottonpad soaked with micellar water over each brush, wipe with dry paper towel. Water damp towel over each to remove residue, dry paper towel and done. It works so well, I now usually do a dedicated bath with Bonner’s baby soap every 2 weeks.

About once a week, except for the sponges I use. I tend to wash those after I’m finished using them. But that’s only because seeing them dirty really bugs me a lot more than seeing the brushes.
