We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Maybe Dior….the products I’ve had from them are excellent and their packaging is nice enough too and lacking in vulgarity of names and the packages themselves. Also, NARS, back in the day (though some of their old packaging – the rubbery stuff – is starting to get a bit sticky, not unlike the handles of the original Real Techniques brushes – ugh!) Lise Watier, a Canadian company, has packaging that looks almost identical to Burberry’s.

Probably Pat McGrath. I feel like her brand is stilettos and leather, perfume and glitter, sexy and dangerous. The exact opposite of who I am, but I like feeling powerful when I wear her makeup. And I do!

Yeah, Pat McGrath. Feminine and mysterious. You know, this is a great question because now I’m thinking of the modern magic of makeup and how it can make one go from feeling hum to powerful with just a bit of lipstick, and we attach ourselves to the brands that make us feel the most powerful. I’m excited to see other’s answers.

Back in the day, before she went off the deep end and then later, when she sold off the brand — Kat Von D Beauty. I love gothic, I loved the packaging — everything from the color scheme to the graphics to the print (do you remember the fabulous lettering on Metal Matte that read the same upside down as right-side up?) — and I used to really enjoy her products.

For me in my 20s it was Urban Decay… until everything went all-Naked and the grunge almost disappeared.
But my high school self (watching Inked re-runs) would have totally went for Kat von D beauty… if the brand was available in my home country… or even actually existed at that time. 😅

I feel the same about UD although I do like the Naked series. KVD was right up my alley and the closest to that aesthetic these days in Melt Cosmetics. At one point, Black Moon Cosmetics looked like it might be a go-to for us goth chicks, but that hasn’t been the case. I always liked the Lime Crime aesthetic, but that’s gone off the deep end, too.

Gee, this is a really difficult question for me to answer because I can love some in one brand, some in another, and something (s) in yet another brand!
For sleek, glam beauty of the packaging: Tom Ford, PML, and Hourglass, also Nars Audacious Lipsticks.
For practicality: Natasha Denona, Viseart, MAC.
For beautiful, even whimsical packaging: Sydney Grace, Menagerie and even MAC’s LE collections most of the time.

My aesthetic is as boring as MAC’s core collection. 😅
Black packaging without any bells and whistles. All lipsticks and pencils looking the same. Compact custom made palette storing all my blushes and eyeshadows. Nothing shiny or colorful. Maybe I’ll add an odd shape with the mascara.
Colorful inside, but clean, minimal and practical on the outside.

I really had to sit and think about this question and I decided that Lorac is the one brand that suits my aesthetic best – sleek, black packaging that hints at hidden beauties inside, is how I would put it – seeing as I own most of their most recent offerings.

That’s a tough one!
Gucci with the hyper-feminine florals and the retro feeling, absolutely is my thing. Rare Beauty with the soft colors and the emphasis on compassion really resonates with me too. And Pat McGrath is so fun, the products and the packaging are great!

Rituel de Fiile; not only 90%+ of the actual shades, but the packaging & ethereal witch/nymph/fairy imagery used by the brand. I also truly appreciate they don’t use edgy/juvenile slang for shade names.

A close second is Melt Cosmetics, and a few years ago Kat von D Beauty would have rounded out the list.

In terms of actual product, LORAC (particularly the “Pro” eyeshadow palettes) are ones I can reach for on any given day, go with whatever I’m wearing, and and are suitable for any occasion.

Natasha Denona’s eyeshadow metallic eyeshadow palettes, especially the mid-side ones. Just the right size palette for me to hold. Only wish it opened up flatter. Classic metallic, that’s me!
