Please keep discussion on-topic, and if you have general feedback, a product review request, an off-topic question, or need technical support, please contact us!

Please help us streamline the comments' section and be more efficient: double-check the post above for more basic information like pricing, availability, and so on to make sure your question wasn't answered already. Comments alerting us to typos or small errors in the post are appreciated (!) but will typically be removed after errors are fixed (unless a response is needed).

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Thank you for understanding!

I’m trying out a no or low buy until next year’s holiday collections. I’m going to enjoy the vast pile of beautiful things I already own! If something stunning comes out I’m going to try to dupe it before giving in. Luckily, the PMG Bridgerton collection comes out on 12/26 so buying it won’t violate my 2022 no-buy! I think that last comment really says a lot about my mentality regarding makeup . . . 😉 Is it healthy? I don’t know, but my collection brings me a lot of joy!

I don’t usually make resolutions and I don’t think this year will be any different. I will continue to try and purchase responsibly and dupe what I can. I hope to be able to use my beautiful eyeshadow palettes more next year. That will be my resolution.

Yes, two. 1) to invest in good, really good makeup brushes. I need to stop fiddling around with cheap, do nothing brushes. I hope Santa can locate Wayne Goss’s Holiday Brush! 2) to seriously dial back my obsession with bronzers. I do have to give up the ghost that the perfect bronzer exists!

Buy less and enjoy what I have more. I’ve got A LOT. Makeup is one of my favorite things though, so I won’t just blanketly force a no-buy, but I will be sure to only add truly unique items to my collection next year. There is also a little room for things that I love and want to collect – like Lorac’s new palettes. They’re not cost-prohibitive to purchase and after buying the three new large ones I know exactly the quality I’ll be receiving.

As far as lips go, that’s where I need to be firm. I adore lip products and have more than I could ever use in my life right now in this moment in time. I have a lot of nudes and am always tempted by another, but nope. No more. Not until I put a dent in some of the ones I’ve purchased over the last years. Lipstick doesn’t last as long as eyeshadow palettes (powder is basically indestructible) and I can’t keep buying cool colors to wear a few times and let rot. The exception would be lipglosses and lipgloss tints. I’ve finished five or six just in the last year.
