Do you plan your looks in advance?
Not really! I might have an idea of what product(s) I’m going to use, e.g. new so-so palette, but I don’t have a real idea of how it’ll come together until I sit down to apply.

If I have something which is new and I haven’t used it yet, I’ll probably add to that but I can’t say I lose much time “colour-coordenating” my make up in my head.
If I am having trouble sleeping, I plan my look for the next day. It is pleasant and relaxing.
I usually plan my outfits the night before (at least mentally), so I make a sketch in my mind at least vaguely of what make up I’ll do so that it somewhat matches.
Nope, pretty much never for my daily looks. But if it’s a night out or event then I’m usually planning what I’m going to wear, and then I’ll start thinking what my makeup strategy should be to enhance the whole vibe.
To some extent, yes, I do. At minimum, the color theme that I am feeling at that moment or to coordinate it with what top or dress I’m wearing that day. That said, during the application process, I can become a little bit fluid with the direction I take a look into its fruition.
I usually do for special occasions. I may have products in mind for everyday looks, but I rarely plan exactly what I’ll be doing.
Every now and then I do – especially if I have an event to go to and I am wearing something new. I will comb through my eyeshadow palettes and try and co-ordinate the shades to bring out the best of the colours on me. An example is when I went out after our lockdown ended to meet my former colleagues and I used the Smashbox Petal Metal palette with Contraversy from bareMinerals The Wild Thing.
My husband would be rolling his eyes at me with this question lol. I have my makeup set up the day before in order of application and I know what look I will be doing as I’ve already got my clothes set out. |I’m a little OCD, I will never be late for anything because I like to be prepared.
I have a ton of potential makeup looks recorded, and every Friday night I pick 7 for the following week. It keeps me from scrambling while getting ready for the day, but there’s also flexibility, because I can switch the day around or even swap in a totally different look I’d never considered in the initial Friday-night planning session.
Not really. I rather go by the seat of my pants. I’m probably in a rut makeup wise. Same brown or navy or black Smokey eye. Same lipstick. Same bronzer. I am going to prowl your swatches for a decent blush since I’ve moved and there’s no department store or Sephora near me I’m reliant on you and a few on YouTube and Instagram for suggestions. Not as fun as when I could zip in and swatch my heart out. Ahhh life in the country it has its advantages but lacks in great makeup or clothes 🥲
I used to when I worked. As I love sleeping in the mornings I always had quite a short time to get ready, I had clothes picked out and the makeup sorted. at least in my head. Silly really, as I worked as a nurse I changed clothes on arrival to work, Those days the clothes we wore were dark green.
Now I just pick a palette, or a self made one with singles and pick what I feel like.
For a party or a night out, (HA as if I will ever do something like that again!) I do plan ahead, coordinating clothes and makeup.
I do plan in advance most of the time. I work the noc shift, so I do like to set out my makeup that I would like to wear that night in advance, its the only way that I can somewhat rotate my makeup. I also spend some time on Webex and/or Microsoft teams for online meetings, so for me that also takes some planning. I enjoy the makeup process more if I do not have to rush to make that decision getting ready.
