What is your party makeup look?

I don’t have any signature or go-to looks, but it’s usually me putting two or more Pat McGrath palettes together if it’s the holiday season!

Dior’s Celebrate in Gold (from the 2020 holiday season – how bittersweet but mostly bitter is THAT sentiment?) gives a lovely holiday eye look, with black liner and tightlining. A red lip or Givenchy’s Fuchsia in the Know on lips, my skin as pale as I can get it (meaning my redness toned down with foundation) and Dior Rosy Glow blush, perhaps dusted with Becca Pearl powder highlight. And a goodly spritz of either Sisley Eau du Soir or Paloma Picasso (my new favourite) and I’m good to go, at least from the neck up!

My husband loves to go to parties so this last 2 years has been very hard on him, he’s very much a people person and I am not that much of one. But I do pull out the stops I love to glam it up with sparkle and shine from the tips of my toes to the top of my head, eyes, eyeliner, mascara, lips and a good highlighter and I’m good to go. I like glittery clothes as well and have a good collection which serves me well when we visit Vegas.

I haven’t been to a party in years, actually. One of the things that seems to happen after separations, or at least happened to me. Do I miss it, not really.
My imagine party look depends on what kind of party, and what time of the day it is.
For day time, garden parties I would think Rita Hayworth, a classic 1940’s inspired look, a red lip a light dusting of a shimmery eyeshadow, all quite natural but with the shimmery twist. And mascara, of course along with the usual foundations, blush and brows, but toned down and quite sheer foundation.
For more formal evening time parties, still the red lips, shimmery lids, an eyeliner and a lot of mascara, the usual stuff for face and brows.
With friends I’d go for a more colourful shimmery eye look, probably a black eyeliner, false lashes, still red lips, foundation, a brighter blush and a little bit of a shimmery highlighter.
