Lip Lust: Strayin' Lipstick + Nice To Be Nice Lipglass

Jonesin’ for Strayin’

If you’ve looked at swatches (or even tried it on in-store) of Strayin’ lipstick from MAC’s Hello Kitty Collection and thought to yourself, “This is just too bright!” I urge you to think again! First, whenever a lipstick seems too bold or bright for you, remember you can always sheer it down by using less, mixing it with clear gloss/balm, or blotting after applying.

But more importantly, you can always use a lipgloss to blend the color and adjust it to the perfect hue flattering for you. Strayin’ runs on the cool side, and I tend to look better with warmer tones. By adding Nice To Be Nice Lipglass (a glittery orange-y gloss) on top, I was able to warm up the lipstick to just the right shade that works well with my skin tone.

Do you think nw20/25 can pull it off?? I am a sucker for pinks lately but I am terrified of how shocking some pinks can be. I am nw20/25 with light blue eyes and brown/w blonde highlights.

I tried it and it’s so pretty. I put Snowscene on top of it. I’m gonna try it with She Loves Candy and Sweet Strawberry later (not both at the same time). I had Lovely Lily on my eyes with Sunset B over it and I added Kitty Power and a little bit of Romping. At first, I had Pomposity and Snowscene, then changed it to Strayin and Snowscene. And I drew a little red heart under my right eye.

If you have light to medium skin tone then you can pull off this color. If it’s still too bright, you can always tone it down using a lighter shade lipgloss.. or you can also mix and match to find the right shade for you.
