Comments that do not adhere to our comment policy may be removed. Discussion and debate are highly encouraged but we expect community members to participate respectfully. Please keep discussion on-topic, and if you have general feedback, a product review request, an off-topic question, or need technical support, please contact us!

Please help us streamline the comments' section and be more efficient: double-check the post above for more basic information like pricing, availability, and so on to make sure your question wasn't answered already. Comments alerting us to typos or small errors in the post are appreciated (!) but will typically be removed after errors are fixed (unless a response is needed).

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Thank you for understanding!

Favorite intense highlighter? Nabla Cosmetics Skin Glazing in Ozone.

Favorite softer highlighter? Actually an eyeshadow: the old KVD Metalcrush Eyeshadow in Thunderstruck.

Hey, saying “sorry” is practically a Canadian innate habit so maybe you’re a secret Canadian! (we’re known for apologizing and saying sorry all the time, even when there’s no one there!)

Your skin tone/coloring: Under my name (blue-green eyes, dark hair)

Favorite intense highlighter? Anything I own from Ofra or MAC! Glazed Donut, Covent Garden and Whisper Of Gilt can all be sheered out nicely, though.

Favorite softer highlighter? Laura Mercier Highlighter 01. Or ABH Amrezy, because it blends in with my skin color quite well.

Favorite shimmery blush? ALL my shimmery Nars blushes! And a few from ColourPop, too.

Your skin tone/coloring: Pale, cool
Favorite intense highlighter? Possibly Dior’s Nude Air Luminizer 002 (not sure if it’s still around – who can keep track of their highlighter releases and name changes?)
Favorite softer highlighter? Either UD Aura or Becca Rose Quartz Shimmering Skin Perfector (and not just because I got it for next to nothing at Winners!)
Favorite shimmery blush? MAC Rosy Cheeks Extra Dimension Blush

Skin tone/coloring: Very neutral, leaning yellow rather than peach, fair in winter and light in summer

Favorite intense highlighter: Doesn’t exist, I’m too pale, old and don’t go anywhere where shiny face would look good

Favorite softer highlighter: When I use highlighter at all, I prefer Becca Moonstone. By far the closest I can get to a “natural” highlight

Favorite shimmery blush: Goes in cycles. Right now, with my pale winter skin, Clinique Heather Pop is really working for me.

Genevieve Avatar

Your skin tone/colouring: Porcelain, with pink undertones

Favorite intense highlighter? Nope, I don’t use highlighters at all

Favorite softer highlighter? Nada

Favorite shimmery blush? I prefer a matte kind of blush – Clinique’s Melon Pop may have a bit of a sheen, which is OK with me.
