What was the last eyeshadow palette that caught your eye? Did you resist or give in?

The last one I purchased was Pat McGrath’s Huetopian Dream (which released yesterday, as I come up with the QOTDs in advance, lol!). It originally caught my eye from some of the early teasers/inspiration photos, but the actual palette was a bit of a personal let-down compared to all the rainbow imagery! I think the palette, ignoring the inspiration imagery, looks good and would have been more exciting if Divine Rose I and II didn’t exist. I am always a little excited for a new Pat McGrath palette, though 🙂

Pat McGrath Huetopian palette – I am always excited for a new palette release from her but passed because it would be redundant for my collection. I would just be getting it to have all of the MOTHERSHIPs. It will be the first MOTHERSHIP palette I have not purchased. 😔

Tom Ford quads – redundant for my collection and lackluster for me.

Pat’s new palette is a let down for me and I resisited. It will have to be a major sale for me to consider getting it. The matte shades aren’t deep enough and I have too many Fyrinnae, Clionadh and Terra Moons shades to be impressed or swayed with her specialty shades. The originality and uniqueness in her palettes is gone and it’s sad.

The Huda Wild Obsessions Collection (especially Jaguar and Python) have me looking at my bank balance – lol. But I have to say the live swatch demonstrations look so much more interesting as do the palettes than the still swatches. As much as my eyers are tempted, I have to say that realistically its probably not going to happen. Lately, its been all about comp’ng the palettes the I like rather than buying these types of palettes where I cannot easily depot and mix them with my singles. I will be looking around though at what people are featuring as dupes to my favorite colors from these Huda Wild Obsessions offerings.

Natasha Denona Glam. I did not purchase it because I don’t need it.
In the past 18 months I’ve purchased one eyeshadow palette and that was Pat McGrath’s Rose Decadence; I’ve used it one time.

I watched a full face of PMG YouTube recently that used all the face products as well as Divine Rose II so it has piqued my interest. I have resisted so far because I have been doing simpler eye looks lately and don’t need PMG for that. I am much more likely to spend on the concealer and blur powder, which will probably do more for my look than a new palette.

I have a few:

– Sydney Grace x Temptalia On the Horizon! I gave in (and do not regret it).
– Chantecaille Hummingbird eye quartet in Warm. I meant to buy this year’s Butterfly one, but accidentally purchased the Hummingbird – no regrets.
– Dior fall 2021 palettes – resisting. Night Bird seems to be sold out everywhere anyway.

Mine were Lethal Cosmetics ‘After Dark’ and ‘Velvet Dusk’. Both came back into stock recently (I missed them first time round) so I bought both together (thank you, work bonus!!) both are absolutely stunning, best treat I’ve bought myself in ages! 😊

Also Pat McGrath’s Huetopian Dream, but I would rather finally get the Pat McGrath Mothership V – Bronze Seduction palette during the next big sale.

It would be helpful if you did a special comparison post sometime, to compare PMGL Divine Rose I, II, and Huetopian Dream, as the five shades on the left look so similar to those palettes and its helpful to hear your editorial thoughts (like when you compared the Urban Decay Naked palettes).

The cherry coke morphe palette caught my eye because I love coke memorabilia and thought the colors were really nice so I did get it from ulta a few days ago and it looked pretty when I used it. I’m normally not a fan of morphe and that’s the only thing I have from them.

The last palette that caught my eye was yours Christine – On the Horizons Light palette, and no – I didn’t resist, I gave in entirely!
Another that has recently caught my beady eye is the Alter Ego palette that Celesta mentioned last week. It is a fairly good dupe of ND’s Gold palette, at a fraction of the price. I am thinking seriously about that one too.

It was the Huetopian Dream, in the newsletters sent out by PMG the palettes, and all other products as well look spectacular. When I took a good look at the palette itself I didn’t even have to resist, it is an easy skip for me. I might get it at a sale, but I probably wont.
Before PMG it was your palettes, Christine, and I bought all the light ones immediately, something I don’t regret on bit. I love all three so much. I have used them almost every day since I got them.
