What brands are you still rooting for but are close to losing interest in?

I still have a soft spot for Urban Decay, because despite their flops, I know they have beautiful formulas, so I just keep holding out hope that they’ll bring some of those back into their range.

MAC… I LOVE MAC for what it is, the best place to get some of THE BEST staple products and the 1 brand that’s OG eyeshadow formula doesnt let down. BUT for years they’ve been doing these releases/collabs and it’s almost embarrassing sometimes, often it looks cheap, and the product isn’t even appealing..
I think they need to go and focus on what they do best, stop trying to be trendy or innovative..

MAC and Urban Decay have been so disappointing in the past years. They discontinue good products which were my staples. Then go onto have disappointing releases and I can’t find anything comparable to my old staples. Sad times haha

Viseart. Their recent small palettes have been disappointing..There is a lot of similarity among the color stories and the quality does not seem to be as good. There is a lot of fallout compared to my older Viseart palettes.

Definitely MAC and Urban Decay! I love both brands as they were my segue into higher end makeup than I had previously been buying. But unfortunately enough, both brands have put out total flops when it has come to LE collections. With some being especially tragic, ie; UD x Prince. Then there’s UD going vegan and axing an immense amount of some of my favorite shades, or changing how they look to such a degree that they look unrecognizable to me! And yet, I’m still hoping that both brands SHAPE UP and start getting things right.

I’ve mostly lost interest in them, but I am rooting for Urban Decay. They used to be my favorite brand. Also, KVD. I’d think there’s still hope for them, the apple foundation was a huge hit, and they’re coming out with new lipsticks. MAC — They are the OG, and still have many great products. Botanic Panic has my hopes up that they can still put out a cool, cohesive collection when they try. Wet n Wild — the OG drugstore alternative brand, and I’ve used them since they first launched in the 80s. Now they’ve remade themselves for the Asian market and look more like ColourPop or J-Beauty. They still have some great products, and kept some old favorites with the new packaging, so that’s good.

At this point I am not even considering rooting for any brand… There’s a lot of options on the market, and in the end each brand should be allowed to do as they please. I have multiple great options. Yes, it’s somewhat sad and nostalgic that some brands are not the same… but to each their own.

I think in some way I am rooting for MAC to stop disconnecting my favorites. 😅

I think Laura Geller needs a boost somewhere/somehow. She’s got a great brand but it’s like the little train that could. Echo to Lorac. I’ve lost interest in both, sadly.

I am still interested in Zoeva – they came out with 2 new nude palettes with a new formula. I had to skip these cause I think I have enough new shades. Nabla also has my interest. Both brands are quite affordable.

I have some hope for CP to bring back some of their excellent eyshadow singles like Snakebite in one of their recent duos that they have been doing so well.
I would also like to see PMG do an eyshadow palette without any pinks in it – her one truly neutral palette was not available here in Aus and I would like to see another one.
Maybe one day UD will revert back to its former glory – we can live in hope.

UD exept i still use some products ive had in my collection for awile…..mac i still use quite a few of their products also…….but rarely fawn over them like i used to……..so many options now……beauty influencers have really helped change the make up game i would say. My favorites change often now……but i have my staple products i use accross several brands…..makeup is always evolving and so is my taste in what i like.

urban decay, nars & tarte.
still hoping they will release great stuff in the future.
sad seeing urban decay going down the drain esp with their eyeshadows, which i used to love the old formulas. but the new lipsticks look promising.
tarte has gone confusing too. i still love their 12 hour amazonian blushes but the others seem meh.
nars too. still love their blush & the old eyeshadows.

Melt. I have loved them from the get-go, but with some of the changes – like losing the stacks (as impractical as they were), the four twenty that everyone hated the formula of, the brunet, and now the stupid sexfoil release….I used to have anticipation when a release was announced and now I’m “eh, we’ll see what we see.”

As for the bigger brands, I’m checked out on them. I can’t root for mega corps anymore.

I’m with you on UD, I was almost exclusively a one brand woman with that brand until others started wooing me away and now I haven’t even wanted to go near them for ages. I would love to see them back on their game again, when they put out a stellar product it was pure gold and it was such a pleasure to use. Mac has fallen off as well. If these brands want loyal followers they need to step up and grab our attention and impress the hell out of us and we will be there money in hand.

I bought the Desi/Katie Friendcation Dose of Colors eye shadow palette and I absolutely loved it! The palette was excellent and I actually panned every shade except the blue one! I bought most of the Block Party eye shadows and many of their other products and loved them all. I have been going back to the website and I have just been disappointed. Matte eye shadow palettes and licensing Disney characters for their launches.. I am not interested. They discontinued the Block Party shadows and I’m disappointed. I am also over the ABH line. I have no understanding of the norvina palettes and all the ABH stuff seems to be turning up in boxycharm, ipsy, and other subscription boxes.
I do wish I could get my hands on a Natasha Denona Tropical palette… I missed the boat on that one and I really would love some washes of color…

Urban Decay & Nars. I feel like Nars gives up on good products too fast. Case in point, their Multiples stick color, should have been pushed more. Urban Decay, because they’ve done great products but became too reliant on milking their Naked palette concept (Did the market really need or want the Naked Cherry & Naked Ultraviolet palettes?)

And the one brand I’ve stopped rooting for: Smashbox

Helene Avatar

UD, absolutely. I remember the total joy when they finally was available here. Sephora had one palette, one. It was Naked 2 and I used it for months, then another store started selling most it not everything from the brand. Joy! I have loads of palettes and lipsticks from them along with a few singles, I still use what I have but haven’t been interested in buying anything until the old Vice lipsticks went on sale and I bought what I could from my wish list. I did prefer the Revolution lipsticks, but the original Vice aren’t bad at all. A lipstick from the new Vice did make to to my WL earlier today. There’s a bit of hope for UD!
Also MAC, and that saddens me. I sort of love MAC.
I have a lot of MAC products, mostly single eyeshadows and lipsticks. They seem to DC too many of my staple eyeshadows, and that is very annoying. They have such a great permanent range and should expand it, not discontinue good products from it.

Eh, I lost interest in MAC and UD a fair while ago – it was just endless variations on a theme and nothing seemed super innovative or original so I haven’t purchased from either of them in several years. I don’t miss them at all.

I loved Bite Amuse Bouche lipsticks but the new products they’ve brought out recently just don’t interest me AT ALL and I rarely engage with anything they put out, just give it a glance, ho hum, not for me, moving on… they had so much potential so it’s sad, but there’s so much more out there!

Anastasia Beverly Hills – I will love Mod Ren until the day I die, the the Jackie Aina palette was fab but the super colourful Norvina stuff was just too much of a radical diversion from their core products (and I can get cheaper brow pomade that is just as good now, so) that I’ve pretty much disregarded them.
