Shimmery Blush
I prefer some shimmer in my blushes as I find they are easier to build up, blend out, and are more foolproof overall! They also tend to go on more easily over base products without having to worry about setting first.

I definitely do love me a soft shimmery baked gelée type blush, as it glides on so effortlessly and gives my face a lovely glow that appears to come from within. Also, I enjoy the ones that are a standard formula, but that are finely milled.
However, I do not want any glittery bits in it or a mirrorball shine!

LIKE: They’re flattering and easy to blend. They’re easy to find in a variety of brands and shades.
DISLIKE: They can emphasize pores and texture. I don’t like when they veer into frost territory or when they have chunky glitter in them.
Although I like shimmery blushes, they don’t like me. I often find they have yellowish undertones and it ends up looking quite weird on my cheeks with their goldish glows.
I often dip my brush into a shimmer, like Chanel pink tweed, and then a matte, like Pat Mc Garth divine rose, for my first two swipes on my cheeks. This avoids exactly what you mention and there are no problems with setting over base or moisturizer. I’ll use only matte after everything is applying smoothly.
I don’t wear them often but when I do I enjoy them.
I find I have to be very careful of the undertone on shimmery blushes, more than satin or matte.
What I do like is good ones tend to have beautiful luminosity and I don’t have to top with a highlighter.
