Definitely MAC Jealousy Wakes and my Sydney Grace palettes, since they are my “creations” so they reflect the successes I’ve had in this career.

Mac Jealousy Wakes since you created it and i have been following your blog for more than 10 years.
I’m not a sentimentalist about makeup, much as I love it. I’m not sentimentalist at all, aside from things relating to my hubby and kids.
I had saved the blush from my wedding, but it disappeared long ago. ☹️
I keep my makeup collection pretty fresh, using items at a time, replacing everything not finished 3 years after manufacturing date, so I don’t have nostalgia or sentimental attachments to specific products I own.
I might say brushes are more with a sentimental value. I still have my first MAC 217 brush (it’s like 7-8 years old at least), which reminds me of a specific MAC makeup artist I used to go to back in Europe and did my makeup for a couple of weddings (including my best friend from university) and other memorable events.
I also still have the dual ended brush from the Urban Decay Naked Smokey Palette I purchased from the Sephora on Champs Elysees in my first trip to Paris on my birthday. The palette is gone from my collection for like… 4 years… but I still use regularly the brush.
I have some sentimental attachment to specific shades, although I repurchased them several times in the past, like MAC Diva (the lipstick shade that truly represents me and is a symbol of the confidence I gained as a woman).
Although I personally don’t own or like it that much, Marc Jacobs Highliners in Blaquer has some sentimental value, since it’s my mother’s favorite makeup product and I used to give one to her each time I visited her… can’t believe that soon it would be 2 years since I last saw her.
I keep a few nostalgic items, like the tin from Yardley’s Glimmericks (1969, iirc.) I think of them not as sentimental, but as nostalgic for spirit of the times. It’s an old lady thing.
Cargo Cosmetics Northern Lights palette which I bought to commemorate my trip to Iceland in 2013. I’ve also got an old Helena Rubinstein red lipstick my late mum wore back in the ’60s.
Because my daughter sold it to me when she was working for Sephora, it is still Lorac Unzipped palette for me. Also, UD Vice 2 because of the crazy adventure with Scunci jumping into it and even though I put some alcohol in the pans his one paw went in, I can still see the imprint a little bit. That could just be my imagination.
Jealousy Wakes is also still special to me, too. It’s my favorite teal green eyeshadow. Then there’s Chanel Empriente du Desert quad. It connects so many of us on here together who bought it!

For me it might be Guerlain’s Cruel Gardenia powder – I was just so thrilled to find it and to get it and it’s just so darned gorgeous. And Guerlain’s Fume e/s quad because it’s what I wore on my eyes for my daughter’s wedding.
My first Mac collection was temptation rising and it’s the most sentimental because my mom bought it for me and now she is no longer with us.
ABH Renaissance palette. I love that palette. I feel it was very ground breaking in terms of colour story and the shadows themselves are superb. I have the same level of love for Natasha Denona Biba, but in this case as a result of me being resistant to the colour story believing it couldn’t possibly work on my complexion. I was so wrong. I’ve learned a lot about colour temperature, value, and balance from these palettes and I appreciate the artistry and thought behind them as a result.
Well, my answer involves petty shoplifting but bear with me.
My brother passed away almost eight years ago when he was 19. The last time I really got to hang out with him we went to a mall and I went into Sephora. The Buxom cream eyeshadow in Husky caught my eye because I have a husky and it’s the color of her eyes. I didn’t want to spend the money, but when we got into my car he pulled it out of his pocket and “gifted” it to me. He passed away shortly after.
Often, sentimental items have no real use or monetary value. And in most cases, we are the only ones who appreciate and value them. For me, it’s a set of blush. From childhood.
I’m not sentimental when it comes to makeup. If I had “stolen” one of my grandmothers red lipsticks from the 1960s or so, I would keep it for sentimental reasons, but I never did. I probably used her lipstick, though.
I’m sentimental when it comes to persons, and in some cases I have a keepsake or two that they owned and loved, and I love in my turn.
All my makeup is bought by me, for me and I can’t recall what I used for any specific occasions.
I haven’t really been into makeup long enough to have anything sentimental other than the bottle of perfume I wore at my wedding, Elizabeth Arden’s Red Door.
